People you and I would consider “corporate” would never be able to start a successful company because they’ve got no passion. They simply show up to an already successful company and find ways to make it more profitable. This bites them in the ass if they don’t have any oversite from the people that care about the products they put out. Papa takes pride in his work and enjoys what he does. He wants to make a perfect pizza! If you can find something you love and take the time to master the craft, money will come.

They closed the papa John's by my house to build a housing development. It was run by a married couple for 20 plus years. They took pride and made the best pizza around. After they were closed I ordered from a neighboring papas, and it was shit. Good pizza is about people who know what they're doing just as much as ingredients.

ya i ordered 3 of the same pizzas 3 dif days. the first day it was the best pizza ive ever had, the next two were trash. the ingredients were the same....the actual pizza making a dough makes the pizza
I miss being close to a Papa Johns. I used to live 20 minutes from one, now the closest one is 50 minutes away. Papa Johns will always be my favorite pizza place. Great choices, great quality, greatness all around.

I love Domino's more than Papa's, but when we were in Hawaii.....Papa John's was soooooo good. I've had a hard time enjoying it here back in the mainland duty stations when it just tastes like sugar candy sauce. It messes my stomach up and I get the Papa poops from it if I don't do easy on the sauce. Growing up in the late 90s early 00s, it was so freaking good. Overall, I really do think there is a correlation between Papa's heading of the company and when the corporate board starting getting too much say.

- this is actually one of the big issues with that one barstool sports guy who does pizza reviews. He posts on social media and buzz gets going that he’s in town and ready to go to recommended places, so the owners are in there expecting him a lot of the time if not most of the time.
