Just a small correction for the second point. It is not simply that you're being abandoned as a laner because it's the most dangerous - as scenarios may occur such as: having a jungler, running a tri-lane, or having 2 strong dual lanes, can lead to an offlaner being beneficial to a team. Just something to add. Do not die in the offlane. The opposition's farmer is typically laning against you, and the last thing your team needs is that farmer getting even more from a hero kill.
It refers to the lane where you have the shortest - "tower line." This is considered difficult to play in because the creeps fight nearer to the enemy tower and due to this the enemy often places his strongest lane here. Thus, to avoid feeding unneccesarily, the Off-lane is manned by only one person in most occasions.
Offlane is the type of lane that is considered most dangerous of all 3, because: 1) the creeps clash closest to the enemy tower and this you are easy to gank; 2) due to the above, you are usually alone in the lane (so in case you feed, it's just one person instead of 2 to do so) 3) you will usually face the enemy's main carry, so in some cases you might be heavily outnumbered (namely, 3v1)
To me... Tusk, Favourite Hero. No doubting it. 2nd place? Timbersaw. Christ, I love Timbersaw. I loved him ever since I picked him, and heard the "There are trees... EVERYWHERE"
A good balance is to get Arcanes, then point booster, then build perseverance whichever order you need, Vitality, disassemble. The early-mid game steroid in the point booster is (more often than not) all you need in terms of max HP and mana, the Vitality Booster is usually unnecessary.
Purge, when you're making Arcane Boots then Bloodstone you should try grabbing a Point Booster then a Vitality Booster and disassemble your Arcane Boots to make the Soul Booster (instead of building Perseverance first). It gives slightly less regen and damage but having more HP and max mana during a fight is usually better then the slight regen difference between fights.
I kinda agree with you but it depends how early you get the arcanes. If there it is still around 12 minutes I'd grab perseverance just to mess around with jungling carries and other laners. Rather than full fledged team fights at that point.
I really like to build soul ring on timbersaw. The regeneration is great and burst mana does wonders for the lacking early game mana pool. Add arcanes and you will feel like you won't even need a bloodstone :)
I would totally recommend Vlad, Heart, AC may be even Rod of Atod. If you are on that killing streak, go for damage items as well. Pipe in my opinion is not worth going for as you may need a bkb for right-clicking
Actually I would suggest that having Arcane boots is still superior than a soul booster in terms of mana until you can finish your bloodstone. Much better to build arcane, then perseverance, then point booster and vitality booster, followed by the disassemble and treads. Much better mana
There is a cooldown of several seconds anyway, so as long as the opp remains in the radius of the chakram there's no need to return right away as the pass damage will be done anyway.
*purge asks to have wards to block* *walks towards lane and thinks about blocking* Timber:Are you sure about this? Purge:Right here. Timber:Heh,if you say so. *moments later* Timber:What was that sound? *blocks camp with ward* Timber:Okay...okay. *Lifestealer comes out of nowhere* Timber:*Scared voice*What if they get me? Timber:*Happy voice*Courage!
Would Radiance be a good item for Timbersaw? I know you wouldn't really benefit from the right click damage, but Timber has a "get in the middle" playstyle that might benefit from it (i think).
21:53 Purge: Maybe a force staff this game. Timber: I don't know. Purge: Or i could get a ghost scepter? Timber: Why me? Purge: Force staff might be better i think...
True that is his play style, but I find being able to use his abilities more consistently is far better, so getting a bloodstone is a far greater benefit than the passive aoe from radiance. Only get radiance if you getting free farm and lots of kills. Otherwise in a normal or solo off lane go boots->wand->arcane->pointbooster->preserverance->bloodstone. After that, it trying to be as tanky as heck.
Use the flying courier again, because someone interrupted it (for egzemple, by buing a salve or whatever). Term is from DotA 1, where courier was actually a crow.
it does damage on the initial hit and it slows while enemies are inside of it. at the end, he tosses it out at every opportunity because his mana regen is so quick and the cool down is literally nothing. I'd say he's using it the way it should be used; Timbersaw is far from some complicated hero.
so you compare it to farm? a tidehunter can get gold from teamfighting easily,he was also in the middle of everything so getting those charges are easy-peasy,also bloodstone will pay for it self for more mana regen compared to a euls
Radiance is a good pick up on timbersaw BUT you need bloodstone for that, since you can't attack nor use abilities when you use your ult, that's why radiance is good for him, so you can deal damage when you deal damage :P
The common cycle with Dota: 1) Bored 2) Decide to watch Purge gameplay 3) Become insanely inspired by his performance 4) Immediately go into game thinking I can replicate it 5) Feed immeasurably 6) Cry 7) Bored
fun fact: lifestealer was jungling all the time and, as lifestealer jungling leaves him at always 50% hp for many levels, purge could have walked into his jungle and killed him almost certainly since timbersaw has bullshit mobility in the jungle.
Bhorius is correct. Offlane (aka suicide lane) is Dire obt, and Radiant top. You have a couple of heroes that are good offlaner. Most have a way to escape, and an ability to farm without getting in dangerous situations. Nevermind troll... The lovely DotA community
There's really nothing comparable to having a farmed Bloodstone on Timbersaw. You basically become a superior version of Storm Spirit, zipping across the map, making five-man groups afraid for their lives.
Purge, any chance you can make a video specific for warding and de warding? I sometimes have trouble blocking spawns with a sneaky ward so I justend up putting it in the middle of the camp most of the times (except against radiant), and although I adapt my warding to deffensive or offensive I am still not sure when to ward the jungle or the lane for exemple
*runs in the enemy jungle* Oh its a lifestealer! *runs* *returns* *poke* *run* That.was.hilarious. The most funny part is that lifestealer didn't give a fuck bout the poke and he just stood there and took it like a champ
The problem is that Timbersaw doesn't have the best movement speed. Disassembling your Arcane boots before you finish Bloodstone makes you so slow (and when you have Bloodstone then you can spam Timberchain to move around so it doesn't matter).
Did ranged creeps damage get buffed in the last patch? I feel like they are hitting harder when I play and I noticed purge missed some last hits because of ranged creeps too. I can't tell maybe Im crazy
Purge: oh fuck it's a lifestealer Timbersaw: *runs* LS: *afk* Timbersaw: *pauses, turns, walkbybitchslap* What if they get me? LS: ... *returns* Purge: "Ahahah"
Don't get boots of travel. Don't get force staff (use your timber chain instead). When you start laning either lvl Q or E, either it's a melee you can harass or you have extra armor and health regen against ranged (at lvl 1 ganks your W isn't going to be better than E). Like purge fucked it whole up at the start, he didn't harass with Q (he had full mana) and didn't level E to reduce his damage.
the secret is that he got friends who he can party with. Stacked Dota is a completely different game experience than the Solo-Pub carry veno mid and feed Dota
If you are off laning then get chain first otherwise get whirling death first for the harass, I play off lane timber so i go chain, whirling, reactive as my first 3

That first jungle bit was the funniest thing i've seen in a while :D
That first escape from tiny and lifestealer was nice. Love timbersaw

that tiny, tossing then avalanche, sooooo good
Offlane is the type of lane that is considered most dangerous of all 3, because:

2nd place? Timbersaw. Christ, I love Timbersaw. I loved him ever since I picked him, and heard the "There are trees... EVERYWHERE"
first 5 minutes of this, and my day already made
I like how every time purge does a video the times played and win rates with increase with the hero he plays
Every time you chug the bottle at fountain I keep thinking of bro-laf. "CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG!"
The moment 15:00 when Purge says OK and Timber follows immediately with: ok.... OK!
:D funny stuff
Cool, when Purge plays Timbersaw he actually seems like he is enjoying the game.
"Oh god it's a Lifestealer!" Hestitates a second. "Poke! Run away!"
A good balance is to get Arcanes, then point booster, then build perseverance whichever order you need, Vitality, disassemble. The early-mid game steroid in the point booster is (more often than not) all you need in terms of max HP and mana, the Vitality Booster is usually unnecessary.
so many times throughout this video purge and timbersaw sounded as if they were having a conversation
Purge: I don't want to go in the jungle this way
- > goes anyways < -
Timbersaw: they are gona get me
xD
Purge:"I should probably get a force staff this game"
Timbersaw:"I dooont know.." :D

Just when i'm really getting into Timber. Thanks for the vid.
Timbersaw's voice acting is so good.
the jukes at the beginning was awesome purge ;P
In his first Bristleback video he mentioned that he loved playing it back in Dota 1
Omg those jukes at the starts ! oh ho ho the jukes !
4:05 - 5:05 : Some of the most intense (and hilariously entertaining) DotA you'll ever see. XD
I kinda agree with you but it depends how early you get the arcanes. If there it is still around 12 minutes I'd grab perseverance just to mess around with jungling carries and other laners. Rather than full fledged team fights at that point.

Purge : "It's a juke!?!?!"
Timber : "Yes"
Omg that juke in the beginning!
purge, i think timbersaw is one of your best heros
Purge, play Abaddon, I can safely say he's my favorite character right now. He's so much fun.
Actually I would suggest that having Arcane boots is still superior than a soul booster in terms of mana until you can finish your bloodstone.
Much better to build arcane, then perseverance, then point booster and vitality booster, followed by the disassemble and treads. Much better mana
Dang Purge you're slapping all the butts in this game
that sick dive at the start of the match o.0
Purge every game: "I should probaly have a tp scroll" or "I should probably be there"
There is a cooldown of several seconds anyway, so as long as the opp remains in the radius of the chakram there's no need to return right away as the pass damage will be done anyway.
That was quite the comical juke with lifestealer.
Is it just me or is the sound quality of this video better than his other vids :D
*purge asks to have wards to block*
*walks towards lane and thinks about blocking*
Timber:Are you sure about this?
Purge:Right here.
Timber:Heh,if you say so.
*moments later*
Timber:What was that sound?
*blocks camp with ward*
Timber:Okay...okay.
*Lifestealer comes out of nowhere*
Timber:*Scared voice*What if they get me?
Timber:*Happy voice*Courage!
Would Radiance be a good item for Timbersaw? I know you wouldn't really benefit from the right click damage, but Timber has a "get in the middle" playstyle that might benefit from it (i think).
Drow: ''let me push next time so I can farm''
Timbersaw: ''Okey... O.K.''
lol
Aghanims is in my opinion an AWESOME item for abaddon, as it increasse your ult duration by 2 seconds !
21:53
Purge: Maybe a force staff this game.
Timber: I don't know.
Purge: Or i could get a ghost scepter?
Timber: Why me?
Purge: Force staff might be better i think...

Ever since his second timber, timber's my most played character by far. I can actually do well with him.
Use the flying courier again, because someone interrupted it (for egzemple, by buing a salve or whatever). Term is from DotA 1, where courier was actually a crow.
What a game! Oh my God! Hail Timbersaw!
Will do. Thank you.
it does damage on the initial hit and it slows while enemies are inside of it. at the end, he tosses it out at every opportunity because his mana regen is so quick and the cool down is literally nothing. I'd say he's using it the way it should be used; Timbersaw is far from some complicated hero.
Sucks that i've seen you play timber already, twice just to learn him a bit before i tried him, but I guess i'll watch you play this again ;)
lol purge's giggle is so cute :D
so you compare it to farm? a tidehunter can get gold from teamfighting easily,he was also in the middle of everything so getting those charges are easy-peasy,also bloodstone will pay for it self for more mana regen compared to a euls
Dayum, those were some sick jukes purge xD
Purge says okay. Timbersaw: Okay...Okay
Timbersaw, Clockwerk, Bounty Hunter, Enigma, Nature's Prophet, Broodmother, and Lone Druid, to name a few.
he actually did get a radiance in one of his previous timbersaw videos
Radiance is a good pick up on timbersaw BUT you need bloodstone for that, since you can't attack nor use abilities when you use your ult, that's why radiance is good for him, so you can deal damage when you deal damage :P
2:06 Hahahaha that awkward moment where purge just hits him XD
The common cycle with Dota:
1) Bored
2) Decide to watch Purge gameplay
3) Become insanely inspired by his performance
4) Immediately go into game thinking I can replicate it
5) Feed immeasurably
6) Cry
7) Bored
25:12
Purge: so almost a hex on OD, I'll just go blade mail this game...
Timber: Never know... you just never know....
fun fact: lifestealer was jungling all the time and, as lifestealer jungling leaves him at always 50% hp for many levels, purge could have walked into his jungle and killed him almost certainly since timbersaw has bullshit mobility in the jungle.
You stamp cards into a compendium and once you stamp a full team you get another form for your smeevil courier.
Bhorius is correct. Offlane (aka suicide lane) is Dire obt, and Radiant top. You have a couple of heroes that are good offlaner. Most have a way to escape, and an ability to farm without getting in dangerous situations.
Nevermind troll... The lovely DotA community

I tried Abaddon today, amazingly tanked up hero. Really no clue on a decent build for him though, soul ring + pipe seems to be okay.
Purge uses tackle.
It wakes up the Lifestealer.
21:52 purge: so ill probably want a force staff this game...
timbersaw: I dont know....
Is it better to complete the soul booster first or just get mana boots then perseverance?
*runs in the enemy jungle*
Oh its a lifestealer!
*runs*
*returns*
*poke*
*run*
That.was.hilarious.
The most funny part is that lifestealer didn't give a fuck bout the poke and he just stood there and took it like a champ
Yeah. I'd love to see Purge play Abaddon too.
Thanks for the advice, and it sounds reasonable, im gonna try it out :D
Purge I 've noticed that you don 't really use action items, mega kills-announcers, Hud skins and stuff. But you have so many!
The problem is that Timbersaw doesn't have the best movement speed. Disassembling your Arcane boots before you finish Bloodstone makes you so slow (and when you have Bloodstone then you can spam Timberchain to move around so it doesn't matter).
15:07 Purge: okay
15:08 Timbersaw: Okay, OOOkay.
xD
Did ranged creeps damage get buffed in the last patch? I feel like they are hitting harder when I play and I noticed purge missed some last hits because of ranged creeps too. I can't tell maybe Im crazy
timber such a fun and dominating hero
Purge: oh fuck it's a lifestealer
Timbersaw: *runs*
LS: *afk*
Timbersaw: *pauses, turns, walkbybitchslap* What if they get me?
LS: ... *returns*
Purge: "Ahahah"
no, but he synergizes great with nature's prophet because he can chop the snare down for pure damage.
Purge, why do you place the rune ward a -10 seconds? Isn't it better to place it at ~3-4 seconds, so the mid player can detect the 6 minute rune?
Is it a good idea to level timber chain first? its what i do when i play timber, and i play him quite often.
19:48
Purge: When i'm in jungle theres very little way that i can die.
Timbersaw: What if they get me?
i got daedalus and shadow blade for my timbersaw. Was happy about the results
in the beginning of the video you were watching a site or something about ward placing? Is it possible to share it with us?
1:40 Purge - It's like...right here.
Timbersaw: Naw...if you say so. :D
Man, bloodstone is amazing.
If you're farming very fast and after you finish your tank and mana regen items. Otherwise you will be pretty squishy low mana hot lamp
I would love to see purge try out the new hero Abaddon they just added in because he seems like a very interesting hero.
the secret is that he got friends who he can party with. Stacked Dota is a completely different game experience than the Solo-Pub carry veno mid and feed Dota
one of the best hero?
hmmh usualy my build is arcane, bstone, botravel, and maybe heart, what do you think, is that good? i dont buy anything else between those..
I disagree, he wasn't going back to base to heal to full hp/mana (but he gets more xp on field) and therefore regen is the better choice.
Purge, when will you do another commentary?
Hey Purge, Who was your favourite hero from Dota 1? Just wondering : )
hehe
purge was like "its right here"
and tibersaw said "uunh if you say so"
Yeahhhh, Timber!
If you are off laning then get chain first otherwise get whirling death first for the harass, I play off lane timber so i go chain, whirling, reactive as my first 3
Purge are you in Sweden? It's a weird question but it sounds like 2GD was there with you URL and I know that he is in Sweden with the GD studio
Nice jukes on the lifestealer
