At last someone who plays the shuffle properly, well done Sir
Ive watched several drums covers for this tune and this one is by far the best one, pretty spot on.....thanks Joe
Thanks!
Amazing fills! 🎶👍
Thanks for the video... Its helped me figure this song out. Its a bit of a beast with that right hand shuffle.
great right foot bassdrum work
best cover ive seen of this yet
Love the traditional grip
Amazing
You are a great drummer..awesome!
Thanks!
Wow. I don't have the chops to play this...yet. But now I see how it's done (expertly) so I'm now on a mission to play to your level.
Respects & gratitude.
Thanks. Practice flam taps. I think the easiest way to approach the up tempo shuffle beat on the snare drum is with flam taps.
@@JoeNocella Thank you very kindly for taking the time to give me good direction. I will certainly work on that more from now on.
Gratefully,
B.
Very good cover😊👍
That is totally excellent and awesome playing .
Thanks!
Nicee. Very smooth and succinct.
Totally awesome!!! 👏👏👏👏
Very good drum cover Joe! Awesome snare work especially!
Great song choice and fantastic cover Joe❤️🥁👌nailed it 👍
Nice ... thank you! Great job with the recording, also.
That was fun to watch. So many cool drum spots. Thanks for putting this up. Awesome job.
Bravo. Nicely done.
Impecable

Great job
Great job as always Joe!
Thanks!
get it!!!!
Great cover man. Job well done!!!
Thanks!
Parabéns.
Really nice work Joe.
Thanks!
Well Alrighty Then! 😁
Should cover White Lion's version of this song. The drums are a bit edgier and the solo section is a bit more challenging. There's a cover of it played by a guy in aviator sunglasses. He kicks the schitt out of it. Should check it out.
I'll check it out..Thanks!
Cesar Zuiderwijk was a very under-rated drummer, likely because Golden Earring didn't have a large repertoire of hits. But you can see just how talented he is by viewing some of his drumming on TH-cam. As Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice once explained, there are plenty of highly skilled drummers out there who will remain largely undiscovered unless they become part of a successful formula. Cesar could play rings around popular drummers like Charlie Watts, but Charlie obviously landed in a better place.
I agree. I saw Cesar on the Midnight Special way back when this tune was a hit and it always stuck with me. I knew that guy was special. I liked that he used traditional grip and had a nice playing style. He jumped over the kit at the end too. There are clips of him playing recently on youtube. He's still kicking butt on the kit.
i agree he's a great drummer but the comparison with Charlie isn't fair on either of them - they are two very different drum styles, and indeed musical styles. Cesar more or less leads the band , especially in Radar Love, Charlie always stays in the background, not because he's not a great drummer - indeed that's part of what makes him so good, but because that's what suits the Stone's music, and the jazz combos he plays with too.
@@ericmacarthur3298 correct
@@ericmacarthur3298 True..Charlie was rock solid and played just what the Stones needed. Like Ringo, he put fills where they belonged and didn't overdo it.
I watched three other drum covers of radar love on TH-cam and I like your approach the best. You don't overplay. You play in the pocket with a consistent shuffle and your tom fills with fluidity. Great job. On your shuffle, your playing 2 and 4 with your left and triplets with your right. Am I correct?
Thanks..Most of the time, I'm playing the shuffle (not triplets) "1-uh, 2-uh, 3-uh, 4-uh" with my right hand and playing 2 & 4 with the left. Sometimes, I'll play flam taps.to mix it up a little.
@@JoeNocella .Thank you
Great playing! The best snare work I’ve seen. Can you do Rock N Roll part 2 by Gary Glitter sometime?
Thanks. I'll check it out..
@@JoeNocella Thaks so much U R awesome!
Could you please do let me be the one by the carpenters
A lot better than Sina :) Good classic grip. Fine fine chops. Great groove.
Thanks!
I like how Sina includes her footwork though but I agree
Sina's was rough.
She did a great job..
hhmm......... not bad.....not bad at all
Joe
not perfect but your technique is pretty good
What as with that bad edit? The switch right before the solo @ 3:47
How did you spot that? Very keen perception. Nobody can put anything past you. It's possible that I didn't like the original solo so I recorded another version and spliced it in.
@@JoeNocella I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not.
@@JoeNocella you did a great job thru whole tune and especially the solo....your version gives me something to work on to do this for a band who wants me to play drums on this tune...thanks man
Great job
