At least ideologically, the new president is much closer to China, as both believe in Marxism. Of course, sovereignty is the most important factor, but at the very least, he will not be hostile toward China and may even strengthen the relationship. Domestically, his policies are also more aligned with China's, unlike Modi's favoritism toward Adani and Ambani. He is more focused on helping the poor, which is also very similar to Xi's approach.
