AKD's party had launched two violent insurrections in the last century to topple the Sri Lankan government. They had also targeted Indian businesses and soldiers during the civil war. Does this mean AKD will pursue an anti-India policy? How is New Delhi preparing for his presidency? Palki Sharma tells you.

I had a big respect to Palki Sharma since she started her journalism but now I feel very sorry and disgusted about her journalism. She interviewed Ranil Wickramasinghe very friendly and didn't criticize his crimes during 70s and 80s. What a shame ???
well interviewing someone face to face is supposed to be like that , the questions are reviewed and approved by the politician's side . you can't directly ask hard questions one on one , no politician would ever agree to that . some politicians even want to curate their own questions and want to see the interview before it airs , some dictators and monarchs even ask them to sit on a lower and worse chair from their own, because they believe how can a journalist , a woman and a foreigner of other religion sit at their equal . although she has refused to do any such interviews in the past .

Please do not judge anyone from its past and AKD is going take SL to forward in collaboration with other countries while learning from their past lessons. We appreciate the progress India made under Modi administration and Modi was accused of various allegations in past but currently he is taking India forward. So ,please refrain from labeling him as China leaning president as he was advised by very good west educated honest and pragmatic group of people unlike in the past.For example,previous governments decided to import eggs to get commissions without having plans to produce it locally with its resources. Foreign policy is based on national interests, not ideology; if his country's interests align with India (which they seem to right now), he will be pro-India.
