Bob Steele an excellent horseman, actor and stuntman. He was in many films black and white.
This was the seventh trio to play the popular Three Mesquiteers series which at one time included the Duke himself.

never knew livingston came back as stony brooke after john wayne played him in 38 and 39.liked him better than wayne.
Simi Valley, in particular and California, in general.....a much nicer place back then.....oh well.
I knew a woman whose maiden name was Steele who claimed to be a cousin to Bob.
Steele was Bob's Stage Name: The son of director Robert N. Bradbury, Birth name: Robert Adrian Bradbury; Nicknames: Bob Bradbury Jr. & Robert Steele.
He appeared in vaudeville with his parents and with his twin brother Bill Bradbury appeared as a child in a series of 16 semi- documentary short films directed by their father, The Adventures of Bob and Bill. As Bob Bradbury Jr., he played juvenile roles in silent films, then took the stage name Bob Steele in 1927.
His Dad directed a lot of the movies that Bob Steele was in.
Robert North Bradbury, American writer/director of low-budget "Poverty Row" westerns, including 13 of John Wayne's early films. He also often starred his son, the western actor Bob Steele, in his films. Bradbury began in the industry in 1918. He made the majority of his films under the banner of Paul Malvern's Lone Star Productions, which released through Monogram Pictures, and later for Monogram Pictures itself.
But I don't know where Bob got the pseudonym, "Steele", it could have been a family name, too, perhaps a name from his mother's side of the family or something.
