I can’t afford a high tunnel but I did get a nice 10 x 10 greenhouse on Facebook marketplace and I have a shade cloth. Following Danny’s advice and trying to grow as much as I possibly can in my small space this year.

what one did you buy? I'm looking to turn a and 8 by 4 space into a tunnel or greenhouse of some kind. Has to be considered tempoy not permanent togo in community garden area

@@tst1200 everything I have has to be temporary also. I’ve lived in the same place for 13 years but I don’t own it. This one is called quictent, and as far as the tent style greenhouses, it is very nice. There are several other people selling some decent greenhouses on Facebook marketplace. I would look there before paying full price.

I’ve watched the videos from the first high tunnel build a couple times. Working on flattening out a space since everything here slants toward the river. Loved seeing you get the high tunnels ready for warmer weather. Thanks Danny and Ms Wanda for another fine video. We so appreciate all the info y’all share.

You can add rutabega, turnips and parsnips to your corned beef and cabbage... thank me later. I made it for an office party once and people would take up a collection to buy the ingredients for me to make it again and again. 😆 It really is the rutabega that elevates the entire dish. 💚

Danny, I really appreciate you doing this video. My husband just built me a 12'x16' cape cod roofed green house... and we have spaces saved for exhaust vents and screened hinged openings. I wasn't sure how I would vent the heat. Now I know exactly where to put everything. 🙏💚 Thank you!

Good morning. It would be nice to taste a delicious tomato this time of year. We’ve got crazy weather up here in the north just like everyone else but it’s going to be mild, cold and then back to mild again. Many people are sick because this isn’t normal. I went to Longwood Gardens in PA over the weekend and it’s amazing how rich some people were/are. The DuPonts did one good thing by preserving the gardens for the public and I enjoyed it. I can’t wait to go back in the spring. Thanks for sharing your beautiful high tunnels and pretty green with us.

I have a Swiss chard that made it all through winter unprotected from any freeze, we have had 4 different times when temps got down to 13 for a few days each time and in a few days we will get temps down to 15 again for a few days. If it makes it I will save seed from it as it is actually growing to my surprise. It mostly sat under a fir trees outer branches about 12' from our RV.

We're going mid to high 80s this week too.. and were just at frost for the past few days. I'm putting peas in the ground today.. moving spinach sprouts outside, taking the tomatoes that haven't sprouted to the pop up greenhouse (much warmer than in the house for now) getting peppers started.. setting up my towers for herb starts.. just waiting to get out of the 40s.

The white powdery Mildew the bane of tropical conditions. I've got some because I have 2 Dearborns in my tunnel. Still lost the leaves on the citrus. Two banana trees gave me 9 new ones in lick tubs ready for spring. Had tomatoes all winter plus greens for my spoiled flocks. Already set a neighbor up with 6 strawberrys shooting runners. I hope I can sell enough seedlings to make back the propane. It ain't likely though.

I still don't iunderstand why growing in a container will be better than growing in a raised bed. Don't gamma rays penetrate the plastic of tubs and the cloth of grow bags???? And if the microbes go to the top, my raised beds are about 2 ft. tall and the soil is above twigs, stems, leaves (hugelculture- to minimize the $$$ I had to spend to fill my raised beds!).
Also, are we looking at a summer from Hades, or is this the year without a summer? Mixed messages from you and David Dubyne.
