    Nice video, and great detailing. Agree with your observations about AF and CDG.

    Another perfect trip report! Coincidently, flew that exact aircraft in the same seat from the same gate recently, AF offer an exemplary C product IMHO

    So hyped to hear you’re visiting us up here in Alaska! You should try doing the milkrun flight through Southeast Alaska, if you luck out on the weather you get some of the most beautiful views on Earth (in my opinion).

    I'm a hold over from the Boeing 707, DC-8 and Convair 990 days. I prefer 4 engine jets and love the A-350. Yes, I'm old. Love good food when I fly. Nice flight. Love the next one to Alaska too. Saw it first.

    I agree. KLM has friendlier cabin crew, service and consistency. But Air France has better food and wine. And in normal years Amsterdam Schiphol is much better than CDG.

    I appreciate that with all the flying he does Gabriel prefers to travel Business class, however, as most of us paying our own way usually have to fly Economy or Premium Economy, perhaps we could have some reviews in those two classes from time to time?

    • @AV8_YT
      @AV8_YT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If u want a hack on air france you can snipe a cheap premium economy ticket and then upgrade with about 10000 miles when flying out of or into north america

    • @AV8_YT
      @AV8_YT 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can upgrade when check in opens it will ask you if you want to upgrade and the price it will cost

    • @AV8_YT
      @AV8_YT 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And even if the upgrade is too expensive premium economy for cheap is still good

    • @AV8_YT
      @AV8_YT 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I paid just 875 euros to fly an 11 hour flight and costed 300 to upgrade

    Great vlog as always! What is your job with FR24? All the points hookers agree the AF first class is THE best in the sky today. Check out: Sam Chui, Noel Phillips, and Paul Stewart. And many more! Way up north? The nordic capitols are at 60N. LYR is at 79, much closer!

    Great video, I'm taking this flight in Feb 2024, you strike me as a tall guy, I booked a bulkhead window seat thinking the footwell would be wider, but I also love the view of the engines from the back oi the business class cabin, what's your view? Did you find the footwell cramped in 8A? Thanks again :)

    • @jetaddicted
      @jetaddicted 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This depends on so many assets that to provide a price would not be necessarily relevant, there must be like a dozen different tariffs for one same class, depending on how, when or even where you’ve bought your ticket.
      You could simply play the buyer and visit airline’s websites to see what they offer?

    Complaining about big airports is always easy and mostly done by people who have no knowledge about the history of an airport. It's very often the case that airports can only grow by building new terminals during regular operations. Ok and then you have to connect them. Done often by outer railsystems. Then you have to install gate signs everywhere. So it might look chaotic and messed up but you can't make it better.

    Air France Boeing 777 had a terrible beef, all overcooked. Had the cheese too and something I could not even eat before landning. Also por service This was from LAX to CDG. The old 777 should be replaced. Nice trip report as always.

    • @franckkleber2055

      It can’t be worse than the poor and awful Swedish cuisine. And I don’t talk about ARN airport , without any great architecture , very far away from CDG. I don’t know when you have done your LAX CDG flight but for your information food comes from USA , all catering comes from LAX with an American taste , not the same from CDG to LAX ! and the old 777 is an American plane so different from the A380 that was the usual aircraft before the Covid. Compare yes , but with intelligence.

      @@franckkleber2055 Interesting to discuss AirPorts and other things that’s not relevant at all. The Air France service, food, lack of English and so one was terrible, so whatever you are doing to protect your airline you like so much, they did fail when I flew Business with them late may.

      @@franckkleber2055 for the record I travelled with Robert Lovgren , first off, if you had checked before the insulting reply ( it's easy to verbally abuse someone , and attack their national dishes , I'm not Swedish but every flight I've taken with SAS the service and food has been excellent. Further since your so knowledge, how is it that you dont know that SAS have never operated the A380, that the situation Robert Lovgren wrote of, was due to an issue at LAX where when the return flight on the SAS A350-900 which had been on the outbound flight from CPH-LAX , sadly the return had a technical issue , that Airbus had raised and this grounded a lot of A350's.
      The first class flight that was not given as a choice , added an extra leg to the flight , instead of using Finnair , who flew direct from LAX to ARN , anyway the service from Air France , At LAX was complained about by many including American travellers , so your insults about Sweden seem way off. Air France staff were rude and unhelpful, something that a quick search on the net finds sadly regular reviews from all kinds of travellers . So we come to the flight , the first class area was filthy, clearly visible dirt on bulkheads and window surrounds , and when it came to the main meal service , we as a group of friends cook better steak at home, it was a very worrying shade of grey , with soggy veg , cheese with an odd taste , attempts were made to get the cabin crew to change the artful meals , which compared with the excellent meal of the outbound SAS flight , which also was a clean environment and comfortable, and with an excellent, helpful crew , a far cry from the Air France crew , it wasn't the 777 in itself that was the issue , it's among the better designs from Boeing , hence the development of the 777X , but Robert's post was about poor service dreadful food, and the I'll treatment of his 72 and 74 year old parents, by the crew , and despite having paid for four first class seats, mine his parents and Robert , we expected the same to be offered by Airfrance, who I later found out , brought in and crewed that 777, but that made it far worse as the dirty carpets , food stains , and old wrappers down the sides of the seating , not duvets, for the so called lie flat bed , Robert had a fault with his , the crew got so angry , like it was too much trouble , even asking for cold fresh water was too much trouble . And if Roberts reviews me backing him up , by adding that after we returned, and I contacted air France , they gave a detailed response, telling me , how sorry they were , that they are aware that especially the 777 product , was well below a good standard and that it was among other long haul air France airliners to be totally refurbished, especially business class
      On top of that they admitted food was ' below acceptable standard ' and spoke of their efforts to improve the first class meal experience for future flights , possibly from the 2023 season .
      Air France had to apologize as there were six outbound departures, between KLM, British Airways , KLM City hopper , and a handful of Air France flights direct to ARN , in the end , they used SAS back VIA CPH, and then onto ARN, those flights were fine but had been left till ' the last minute ' meaning out arrival back to Arlanda , meant missing our connection to OSD ( Âre Östersund airport ), this cost for four people at the hotel , a great deal of money , it took a lot of emails and calls to get refunds and compensation.
      Now in fairness , Airfrance accepted it was terrible , that it WAS their staff , and even for that when they listed their responses , on the email offering the refunds / compensation, that it detailed Air France staff failures .
      Including not arranging flights from CDG back to Sweden , in a timely manner.
      The situation may have been dealt with , but when travelling, with elderly and disabled like my self , you do need to know what is happening regards getting back , and communication for that was also in part down to LAX handling agents.
      Also I personally would not insult America just because you might have spoken against SAS for example , there are good and bad experiences in every flight.
      And it wasn't just us, but almost the entire flight was full of angry people at the poor standards.
      Robert's comment was not dismissing the 777 or attacking US made aircraft .
      Just telling what happened, and in research while locating air France customer service , CDG has an eye watering bad review from thousands of upset passengers .
      As airports go LAX was a good airport overall , but not CDG .
      Your comment was personal and uncalled for , as you did not have to endure 11 hours on a filthy aircraft with an unpleasant crew , and yes many like us were trying hard to be nice to the crew as we all know how hard a job it is .
      Finally this is a great video ! Thanks for sharing .

      @@jonathanroberts1328 typical answers from non great travelers ! Typical Scandinavian attitude who aren’t even objective. If Scandinavian food was great I think we should’ve heard about it….for my taste I prefer the French one , Thai or Vietnamese , Italian. And I’m gonna add that a plane isn’t a Michelin stars restaurant…. As you said homemade cook is the better option but please don’t wait for a restaurant service on board with US ingredients , prepared in LAX caterer kitchens. Also a typical wish is to wait for an helpful service. Cabin crew has a major goal , to assure safety and security on board. All extra demands are optional and the crew isn’t responsible of what you travel with ! That’s the customer who has to stow himself all what he brings on board. Cabin crews are not your personal staff. That’s the reason why they never carry babies , luggage or whatever, all of this are passengers duties. My mom is 89 y/o and she never asked for any favors. She travels with minimum hand baggage , cargo holds are made for this and she requires the cabin crew for important questions. Just imagine how many cabin crew staff are sometimes injured because they didn’t respect the airline rules. Don’t carry passengers luggage , preserve your own health…. Is this difficult to understand ? If you want this when you travel , gulf countries and airlines consider it as a cabin crew duties . This is not the European majors policies as LH AF BA IB SR ….
