Hi Pete. Good news for my Osprey V 22. You knew that I had a problem with FCB and Ailerons were moving in the same direction. I found out why it was happening. I would like to share with others so that if other pilots have the same problem, then they could rectify this problem. The problem is due to servos which came with the kit. They did not last very long. I tried different servos in similar specification such as Tower Pro micro servos and they became very hot. The latest one I tried was the upmarket KST 215 MG Digital Metal Micro servo with Aluminum Heat sink, good quality servos. The Osprey V 22 is working perfectly. FCB is excellent. Factory setting is excellent. Controls are very well balanced and it was a very smooth flying. I am extremely happy with your Osprey V 22. Well done mate. This Banana Hobby VTOL Osprey V 22 is as good as the original model which is produced from the US Company called "Rota Mast" which is over priced. Thank you for producing such a lovely aircraft. Would you produce a better version with longer rotor blades and perhaps with a slightly larger motor to give enough power. . As you know, the full size aircraft has very long rotor blades. .... Wish you all the best. Htin
Great info Pete, many thanks for this. Good timing since the postman just delivered my V-22 earlier today. I'm looking forward to taking this to FPV. Cheers.
I ordered a Coast Guard version. The fed x number was incorrect. This was not resolved as they just emailed me how to get the same bad numbers off their website. When it showed up It has no instructional manual. So much for Banaha Hobby and their commitment to customer care.
My motor pods are off set my 1/2 inch up or down they are not equal I have slop one my left servo some times it if I adjust end points it corrects the pitch angel to even then drops down tried adjusting but cant get it to equalize have not attempted to fly it yet will bh send me a new servo? 37:25 ?
Tell me why when i get into a hover the aircraft sits there and porpuses for and aft , c of g is fine, was like that outa the box but never got a response from support so its bin sitting on the shelf for over a year
I really like my v-22 just wish she had scale props. Funny how you like to fly in vertical with motors tilted way forward verses how I fly in horizontal mode with motors tilted. I was thinking about setting mine up like you have it, but then though I would have to have the right stick jammed forward to keeping moving forward. Like flying my quads in angle or horizon mode. Flying in horizon mode with motors tilted give me more of any acro mode flight feel, while still getting a nice smooth transition to and from vertical. Just shows how well this plane handles different approaches to flying all while staying so stable. I do agree that before one starts playing with manually controlling the tilt rotation they should spend the time to understand how and when the transfer actually switches. Again great plane BH.
Thanks for the vid...but please....next time choose the location wisely, from barking dogs, jets overhead, transit, motor bikes and wind conditions...this was the worst place ever. Now, I take that the best condition for transition is not applying any aileron or rudder while transitioning.
Hi Pete. My Ailerons are moving in one direction together instead of opposite direction. I just wonder because both Ailerons are connected with a Y lead into a single slot on Flight Control Box. You may say the Flight Control Box will handle this. But my FCB has a problem and I have tried two different receivers and tried several initialisations as well as Aeroplane with one servo for aileron, two servos for aileron option as well as helicopter option on my Spektrum DX9 transmitter. I have a feeling that FCB has some fault. Can I send the FCB back to you and please test it by yourself and repair it for me if you can or please send me a replacement FCB if you can not repair this faulty FCB. Many thanks. Htin
Htin Aung, my dx18 works fine with in acro with aircraft type wing and tail set to normal. Because you use a y-lead there is no way that each servo can be controlled separately so I do not think this is a FC issue.
Hi Tom. Thank you. Yes it did work for a few minutes and suddenly it stopped working. I contacted Alex from Banana support Unit and asked me to try with different receivers. Very Weird phenomenon that it stopped working. Alex thinks the FCB initialising is not complete. I am stuck wit this model now and unable to use it. I would like Banana Hobby to look at my FCB. If there is any fault, the manufacturer can repair it. They will learn what is wrong with the FCB.Every new innovative technology such as this VTOL model can have a teething problem. They can easily fix it. Cheers. Htin
Maybe we are not properly understanding your problem. When you say both ailerons move the same direction do you mean they do this when you move your tx aileron stick (which is pretty impossible using a y-lead connected properly) or when they move because the gyros are acting on them when you rock the plane left/right (which would indicate a FCB problem)? Double check that you have not mixed up aileron and Elevator leads on either the FCB and/or your rx.
Thanks Tom. The Tech Support Guy Alex from Banana Hobby has already asked me to check and test everything which could go wrong and the FBC is still not working. 1st Generation software can always have a teething problem. Need Debugging. The manufacture should look at my FBC and improve the performance and the reliability of their unit.
The long self tapping screws that hold the main wing on are crap and do not tighten up I had to glue the wing on. Mine flys well and I think transitions better than my convergence
Yup, it only took a couple of wing removals to make those holes unusable. I added 4-40 blind nuts, and 4-40 hex-cap stainless screws after I crashed mine the first time.
NOW he tells us... At times, I had noticed the occasional super-counter-deflection of the ailerons during powerup, but just disconnnected and reconnected power until it went away. I NEVER thought I would have to test the nacelle transition rotation before flight as well. My V-22 performed the "Death Spin" during transition resulting in generous amounts of superglue to be applied to the poor-quality foam of which it is made. So far, I've replaced my servos twice thinking they were the reason for the failure. Now it seems it is a flight-controller issues. I have ZERO confidence in this plane, now. My Convergence flies and performs flawlessly by comparison.
Hey guys, we actually did not notice this issue with the stock radio system that is supplied with the RTF model. Pete did notice this with his personal radio system. What happens is that sometimes the board will finish initializing before the transmitter and receiver establish a connection. This is why we suggest testing the nacelle transition. If you think about it, it's no different than a pre-flight check procedure when the pilot is making sure all surfaces are responding in the correct direction and with the proper travel.
Understood. All good pilots should preflight their airplanes, but everything outside of a pilot's control - including the flight controller's initialization - should work every time. Maybe next time, when you discover the issue about the initialization, maybe think to email the customers that have bought one? You HAVE that info right there in your ordering system, after all. :) This isn't a minor "Oops". This flight controller issue can cause the crash of a $300 airplane, with a $200 parts replacement cost.
Why would they give you plans for the Xane V-22? This plane is sold as a BNF or RTF setup, but you can now buy the the fuse, wing, tail, or nacelle foam pieces if you'd like. It would cost around $200 to do so.
i have to say im not very happy with the build quality. its very poor. all hinges had to be replaced because they are actually falling off right out of the box. the motors rub off the foam motor housing. wires coming from the motors to the wings are very tight and are wearing away the wing when going to vtol. its not worth the price with these defects.
Hello Scott, sorry to hear about the issues you experienced. Please contact us via text or e-mail for assistance with this matter. Here is our support page with our contact info: www.bananahobby.com/support.htm
I had the same issue. I added packing tape to both sides of the hinges, and they worked great - even surviving through my 3 crashes. I wish I could say the same thing about the nose!
I just got this plane, is there a video of the radio setup?
Just ordered mine can't wait

Thank you for watching! Glad we could help!
Thank you Pete and Banana Hobby for making these videos about your V-22. So helpful:D
Thanks Pete, we look forward to getting our new Osprey soon. It is a great looking and flying plane for sure.

holy crap PETE :D its been so long now i gotta watch all the videos of him again
totally not stalking
Very helpful video....can you tell me ....how you have connected hover mode and forward flight mode both ....
Could you please give me the circuit diagram of this receiver and the transmitter. I want to make this plane at home. And currently i cant afford this

how to adjust the v22 going back when hoving ? i find out two motor hoving angles are not 90 digree parallel at the aircraft
how large a battery spectrum can be used for this aircraft?

Hey can you please explain how do the elevators and ailerons help stabilizing the aircraft even in hover mode?
How can I get a replacement manual? I lost mine during a recent move. Love the video but sometimes I just need a quick reference.
where i buy one,please?

flight time is 3min in plane mode with the supplied 4S 2200 lipo and 5min hovering around in tricopter mode
3Mins? not good.

I'm distracted by the waves, I cant believe there aren't guys out there ripping those peaks. going to get my board. lol
nice, Saludos desde Argentina
Greetings! Thank you!
Where is pilot pete from banana hobby....
Should have gone to a less windy place..too much noise of the ocean...the osprey is looking great btw
were is the manual?
Wow, can you give a status on order # 91615- 171124?
thenks

Dog Park Huntington Cliffs near the Golden West surf break. ;)
Thats a cheating way to slope glide brother. lol
Yo Pete, I'm in Pasadena now (not out at the Chandler Bowl in AZ anymore) can we demo this thing at Whittier or Rose Bowl this weekend?
I thought you are going to fly the plane.. 😂 Should explain in a quiet place..

Would have been nice to see it fly
What a wasted opportunity.... should have go to the big bad guy behind him with the RC.....
37 minutes with no flight...
who would on this wind conditions?

I have a verizon version Your plane is bigger and can handle a bigger battery that lasts more than 5 minutes. lol
Doesn't work with DX6i Receiver AR400.........
Spektrum AR400 is a 4 ch receiver . . . You need a 5 ch rx ( AR500 ) !
@@turbojet7982 now that makes sense! I called banana hobby customer support and couldn’t get this answer, Thank you dude!
@@turbojet7982 Just got my AR500 and it works, Now time to dial it in.
You really need to do this in a quieter area.. Background noise is unbearable.
Unsubscribed... :(
Sorry about that, we'll make a note of it!
