Just bought 2017 street 750, all i can say you have to see it in person to really admire it, and ride it to feel it. It has power, its comfy, its awesome. I have 6 more bikes in my garage so im a no newbie, bike is awesome.
shexdensmore i think that the 2017 model has good brakes. Not awesome but not bad either. Also it has abs. Anyway i dont know if you can replace them :/
Didn't even have to wait until Monday ;) Really refreshing to see someone else who isn't just a "sportbike guy" or a "Harley guy" but can appreciate all of these machines for what they are.
+DukeOfDC I would even go a step further and say that if it moves and makes more power than I can with pedals, I'm interested. haha I think I will be heading to Battley fairly soon to take one of their basic rider courses and finally get my class M. I was way too lazy this winter and didn't do it as I had planned.
I own an XG750. I use it for short weekend rides. It is great for that. However, I would not tour on it. I bought another bike for touring. And you are right.....the all black is bad azz. I put a two brothers exhaust on mine..... Super LOUD.....I love riding it in Maryland down route 5.
+awdeveau The only thing missing was that Harley grunt. The 60 degree twin is an entirely different machine. Next time I go back i'll have to take out one of the beastly 45s
You are on a roll. Good review that provides a sense of the ride experience and doesn't get overly mired in specs on a bike that isn't high end or high performance. Good job reviewing the bike for what it is and not for something it wasn't intended to do or be.
+gsgoinwest Thank you! Yeah, I need to like cleanse my mind whenever I do these reviews because usually I'm going from supersport to supermoto to cafe racer to cruiser, and you have to remember they aren't competing with each other.
My first bike was a Street 750. I traded it in for a Wide Glide. It was a great bike, rode like a Cadillac, and a lot of fun! I really miss it. I will say, though, your first Harley ride should have been something other than the 750.
I used to have two sportsters a few years ago, an 883 and 1200N. Sold them when I got married, and have been considering having a nice little Harley in the garage to get me around town and get out every now and then without breaking the bank. Also, living in Texas, when summer temps are around 110, that liquid cool will feel a lot nicer on my legs! I think this vid sold me. You have a new subscriber! Thanks!
Literally laughed out loud at the eagle remark. Haha. "If there was an eagle flying next to me, that is the only thing that would make this more American." Haha
I've been riding off/on since 1977 (grew up on Honda dirt & street bikes) and this is the first model from Harley-Davidson that I really like and I pick up my 2015 XG 750 Street from Loess Hills Harley-Davidson in April. I wonder how it fits taller riders since i'm 6'2" but I'm planning on getting a tall seat kit from Mustang or Harley-Davidson.I did find your video informative and educational.
I ... want ... that ... bike. Sooo cool little bike to enter in the Harley univers. Good ride and commentary. I hope to be able to afford it. I just imagine myself put my leather on, get on my 750 and cruise along the coast. Like a son of anarchy man, you know how amazing and badass is this series!
I'm thinking about getting this bike. I heard 2017 model is somewhat improved compared to 2015 model, I'm coming from 25 year almost of riding a Yamaha Virago, which just recently passed away. I'm not a huge harley fanatic (I do like them but I'm not one of those guys) and I have a limited budget, this seems to be the cheapest bike I can find that's still reliable, and overall i'm hearing nothing but good things
What’s funny is my bike is exactly the same except for the rear shocks and different seat. But I have the same everything else and I love riding mine. It’s plenty powerful enough. I can outrun my buddy’s R6 for about 3 gears.
I just saw the Safeway. I grew up in Damascus, and it looked like you were riding on Woodfield Rd. But I haven't been back up to Damascus in such a long time. Everything has changed I'm sure. I have a 2014 Tuono also. :)
Hey Duke, the street 750 is a great starter Harley! I want to get the 750 Street Rod, in black, with some after market rims! My friends tease me about my "driving like an old lady", this is a high compliment none the less. I look to see more vids from you. Doug
I'm not a cruiser guy by any stretch, but in 2005 I did 3500 miles around the southwest USA on a HD Road King. Maaaaan, it was like riding a Layzee Boy, the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden.
+VeeFour I'm excited to ride on the more spec'd out Harleys that Battley has to offer. This one was comfy, but I know there are some recliner esq. bikes just waiting to be cruised on.
I am picking this bike up but have no illusions of this bike being a genuine original Harley. It has the badge but you don't get that same feeling. I definitely feel it needs louder pipes just cause I like the way it sounds. Eventually I will trade up to something like a 48. Thanks for the video.
Great review and video! Older new rider currently riding an older Honda nighthawk 250 and seriously considering the street 500 or 750 to break into the HD family thoughts?
Thank you! I think that would be a fun transition, but if you are a comfortable rider then maybe looking to get a better equipt Harley would be a better investment.
I planning on buying it next summer. Just got my license a couple of months ago and I'm currently riding ER6N but I think this one is gonna be more suitable. I don't really take an advantage of the ER6Ns performance since I'm more into relaxed riding that aggressiv riding.
I bought a used 750 street Rod and it wasn't the usual Harley, but that little bike would run!! It wasn't the most comfortable bike, but I liked it overall. I sold it after awhile and now I wish I had it back!
Looking to get my first bike this year. Trying to decide between this or the Honda Shadow Phantom (I love cruisers). I live in a busy city so I'm thinking this might be better for getting through busy traffic, but the Phantom might better prep me for heavier bikes 🤔
Would you recommend this bike to someone who is 6'1" tall and around 220? I currently ride a 1992 Yamaha virago 1100, and its comfortable. Not sure how this bike would feel.
One of the best reviews of this bike I seen so far. I've never ridden a motorcycle before besides a couple small dirt bikes when I was really young, I'm 26 and looking to maybe get one next year along with my M license and was looking at this bike or maybe even the 500. Or do you think I should go straight to the 750 for the extra power?
Thank you!! I thing a 750 in this configuration would be just fine as a beginner bike, but a 750 in any other context would be 'too much' bike for sure.
+jim Thank you. Not sure I understand the questions. As long as you meet your state/country requirements to obtain a motorcycle license, then you can definitely buy this. I'm in my mid twenties
You said this would be a good beginner bike for someone new to bikes or cruisers, and that its a good entry-level Harley, but how good is it for what it was designed to be: an everyday ride for the urban commute, especially in places with tropical or semi-tropical weather.
My girlfriend rides one of those. It is her first bike. She does have two complaints and I'm wondering if you experienced it too? I'm not a Harley fan and am riding a BMW S1000R so I can't really tell as all Harleys feel the same to me. Firstly she says the brakes are really bad, especially the rear brake. We went for an advanced rider course and when we had to do the emergency brake inside a "box", she just screamed straight thru. Secondly she's complaining about the spongy feel of the gears when hot. Because it has no gear indicator she battles to find first. My bike has a definite bottom-out feel in first but the Street has probably another gear's worth of spongy travel in first. Kind of disconcerting at the lights with Mr Grumpy behind you.
+Henry Edwards Yeah, the brakes weren't anything to write home about, but not too too bad. I'm spoiled on my Tuono, so I immediately felt the difference, but that's what you get on an entry level Harley I suppose.
Do you find that when you are down to your last gal of gas , that the bike stutters some? Also how do you like it's shifting, heard there were some problems with that.
+David Mayeaux Would love to, but I haven't been able to find a demo day for Yamaha's and none of these dealerships around here offer test rides on Japanese bikes.
David Mayeaux It's so difficult to find one that a dealership is willing to let me go out and test :/ Crazy how that works... I can take out a 25k Panigale 1299, but no one will let me take out a FZ-07... I'll keep trying though!
+DukeOfDC thats metric bike dealers for you, unless they have a bike setup on the floor then you dont test ride. Ive been riding harleys for years, and yet to have a dealer tell me no on a test ride! No ride no sell, im sorry but thats just the way i am. Looks like a great little bike though.
Ok sounds cool. But don't forget, there are so many other roads that are just as fun without the traffic that the Dragon has. But it is cool to see and experience the atmosphere of The Dragon.
Do you have a Duke of DC Facebook page? If you ever come down to the mountains of Northeast TN and Western North Carolina, let me know. We have lots of great mountain roads.
+Chris Lang I don't have a facebook page yet, although I'm not a huge fb fan. I do however have an Instagram (which I love using) and a Twitter (i'm shit at twatting...). I've dreamed of going to the tail of the dragon, so maybe we can ride out there together if I come down that way.
milioooo im about 5 foot 7 inches and can flat foot but they have a reduce reach seat you can buy for like $150 im interested in buying one so I have been doing my research
Its cool to see reviews of your own bike. You did a really nice job at it. I recently did a 6 month owner review vid of the Street 750. Check it out if you'd like.
excellent video you got here, I also have a video on a new 2016 harley davidson demo ride on may 14 2016, check it out and let me know what you think. any advice will help thank you
if you're new rider, this should NOT be your first bike. no ABS, no Traction Control, no driver modes like Rain...First panic braking, you'll be done. Harley is a life style so, we all get. It's time for Harley to grow up and catch up with Todays Technology.
+Becker Inal Do you really need those rider aids on your first bike? I 100% agree that having ABS is a life saving feature on motorcycles, and as a new rider you're more vulnerable to panic braking that could cause a lock-up, but this Harley is still a fantastic first bike. I think the dependencies on rider aids have grown to an uncomfortable level, and the skills obtained by newer riders is diminishing because of it. People should learn the basics, know how to emergency brake on any bike, and be able to buy something that isn't an IPad on wheels. Yes, I realize I have a bike that has all of these rider aids, but my FZ6 didn't have any of this, and I adored that bike.
I have to agree with Duke. I and hundreds of thousands of people have learned to ride bikes with out all the gadgets. Indeed relying on those is a crutch. Learn the basics first, then add the technology if you want. Demanding Harley join the 21st century? W hy should they? They sell tons of bikes to folks who don't want those gadgets. They are doing fine.
It does not have forward controls, they are mid controls, and your knees will stick up above the Tank. And its $7500 , not just under 7000 Find out about the motorcycle before you start talking.
Woah, woah, calm down there my friend! I apologize for the inaccuracies in the video. This was a long time ago and I do a lot more research before riding these days. This is just a fun hobby for me, nothing more. Anyway, thanks for watching and safe riding out there!
Sons of Anarchy made you want in a MC??? Did you see the last few seasons? Better be loyal to the death and fearless enough for prison if you think that's how MC's are. I loved SOA but those last seasons made me glad it was over.
@@DukeOfDC I know this is off topic of your vid but yes SOA got me interested in the MC life and even know a few members of some well known clubs SOA is pretty exaggerated but SOA got to grim for even me toward the end making me glad I ride unattached to any one club. Riding is fun and I wouldn't want to do it for any other reason. Stay safe my friend and ride free. 🏍️💨
bad positioning of the coil ,,,,,,,,be rideing in the rain and get a 10,000 volt shot in the left inner thigh lol blow ya right offa the bike ,,,nice bike though
please dont ride above 40. street 750 brakes can fail anytime. visit facebook page HARLEY DAVIDSON STREET 750 BRAKES SUCKS for user experiences. you can also visit facebook of Udham Singh Hooda being a responsible blogger, you should get in touch with Udham Singh Hooda and show the other side of the coin as well
+D'Kendric Allison Idk what's wrong man! Are you in the US? Maybe it's a connection issue? Sometimes the stream in 1080 @ 60 takes up a ton of bandwidth.
D'Kendric Allison Hmmmm I'm not sure why it wouldn't play for you. Let me see if other people are having a similar problem and get this sorted out! Sorry for the hiccup!
Very Bad Engine and cranking quality and design (Many of HOG commented) . Router and starter gears and Clutch Quality are not good .... the engine crank Casing is a failed Design.... I got a serious problem on 1200 KM run, The Motorcycle still brand new Street 750 2015 Model but not operating ... I went to the dealer where the warranty already finished 4 months back, They gave the attached report and said I have to change everything - Report saying: ((( -Bike not start -Bike cutoff in middle of the road - service of 1600 KM *Bike final report 1- Engine Crankcase is broken, 2- Starter motor is broken 3-Router is damaged ))) Harley Davidson Dealer workshop - Kuwait And the dealer workshop said - I have to change the full set - Engine and Gearbox) No Maintenance price is offered. I am 1 year rider and I never loaded the bike ... The bike traveled only 1200 KM, At HD workshop I saw 3 Motorcycles of Same model with the same and different problems. No proper feedback from HD hiding from the street 750 owners the problems of the 2015/2016 models. No feedback no proper maintenance but offering new bike of another model (2017/2018 - not within the budget) They can compensate 1500 USD only if you choose another bike at a price of 17,000$ as minimum which will be the down payment of your next new bike only from the same dealer. I Like HD but I got a hard stress for the first bike I used. I will take sometime to make my decision so I will choose the correct HD model which will fit my requirement but not from the dealer I suggest HD to compensate all the owners of Street 750 who have the same issues and defaults ... Actually I lost about 3700 USD on this bike and it is parking beside th building waiting someone to buy it for spare parts or scrap. Thanks for all here and for your support.
haha "i think I look cool on a harley", nobody thinks your cool except other HD riders, doesnt matter how much ink, vans tennis shoes or suicidal tendancies ballcaps/flannels you wear....harley image is all in your head lol

not really
Just bought this bike yesterday as my first motorcycle, and so far love it! Really easy to drive, nimble, powerful enough. Love it!

I've dreamed of going to the tail of the dragon, so maybe we can ride out there together if I come down that way.
notice video bro, I'll come up there maybe summer we can ride cuz guess whaaat I'm getting that bike in couple of months hopefully
I’m looking for a Beginner Harley. I’m 6’1, 194 pounds. Would I be too big for this Bike? Should I just go up to the Street Bob?
You wouldn’t be too big at all
@@DukeOfDC the Salesmen at the Dealership, told me that I’m waay to big for This bike.. Somehow, I don’t believe him
Yeah, no chance... sounds like they’re trying to up-sell you
I currently own a sportster but have been looking at one of these for a while. I'd need a lslip on right away. Way to quiet.
Oh yeah, this thing needs to be much louder
I have seen many videos of people removing the baffle and it is a lot louder. Not sure if it gains any hp.
I hope you didn't downgrade. Those bikes are Harley's failed attempt at enticing sport bike riders.
And yeah, it took it awhile for the video to load for me too.
+Chris Lang It's all in an attempt to stream the highest quality video to you guys. I've bumped the bitrate of the render up a bit.
It took a little time to load for me too.
Would you say it's a slow bike?
I wouldn't say it's fast lol
how tall are you? im not the tallest dude and really like this bike so far but not sure if i am too short at 5'5. lol. fml. let me know! thanks!
milioooo im about 5 foot 7 inches and can flat foot but they have a reduce reach seat you can buy for like $150 im interested in buying one so I have been doing my research

bill of toms river nj
Adding to the list!
Its cool to see reviews of your own bike. You did a really nice job at it. I recently did a 6 month owner review vid of the Street 750. Check it out if you'd like.
+BxPolymath Thanks for the kind words. I'll have to head over and check out your review from an owners perspective!
No problem. Yea man check it out and if you have any pointers let me know also. Only about 2 weeks into this thing lol
A friend of mine just bought a new one for $4500.00
excellent video you got here, I also have a video on a new 2016 harley davidson demo ride on may 14 2016, check it out and let me know what you think. any advice will help thank you
+Capri's Connection Thank you! I just went to your channel looking for it and couldn't find it. Link the video here if you want!
Lol you joego and turdbucket convinced me to buy a 2012 ninja 250r.... Falls church represent
if you're new rider, this should NOT be your first bike. no ABS, no Traction Control, no driver modes like Rain...First panic braking, you'll be done.
Anyway, thanks for watching and safe riding out there!
it won't let me watch the video
+D'Kendric Allison Try again, because it's streaming through all my devices just fine
it's all right what is your instagram
+D'Kendric Allison @dukeofdc
Sons of Anarchy made you want in a MC??? Did you see the last few seasons? Better be loyal to the death and fearless enough for prison if you think that's how MC's are.
I loved SOA but those last seasons made me glad it was over.
I don’t know that I made a comment about joining an MC, I really just enjoy riding motorcycles lol
It's starts at 2:50
@@joetroutt7425 Oh young foolish DukeOfDC, how much we had to learn. How life has crushed us.... lol
@@joetroutt7425 Thank you! Ride safe as well :)
Yeah, you feel all american and all... but this bike is made in India... lol
Cosme Fulanito not the ones sold in NA

+frasercanyonballer Oh damn... well shit man lol

Has this happened?
please dont ride above 40. street 750 brakes can fail anytime. visit facebook page HARLEY DAVIDSON STREET 750 BRAKES SUCKS for user experiences.
you can also visit facebook of Udham Singh Hooda
being a responsible blogger, you should get in touch with Udham Singh Hooda and show the other side of the coin as well
it's still not letting me watch the video i tried 10 times
+D'Kendric Allison Idk what's wrong man! Are you in the US? Maybe it's a connection issue? Sometimes the stream in 1080 @ 60 takes up a ton of bandwidth.
Yes but i seen all your videos and liked them this is the first time it did this
D'Kendric Allison Hmmmm I'm not sure why it wouldn't play for you.
I went to the dealer where the warranty already finished 4 months back, They gave the attached report and said I have to change everything - Report saying:
(((
-Bike not start
-Bike cutoff in middle of the road
- service of 1600 KM
*Bike final report
1- Engine Crankcase is broken,
2- Starter motor is broken
3-Router is damaged ))) Harley Davidson Dealer workshop - Kuwait
And the dealer workshop said - I have to change the full set - Engine and Gearbox)
No Maintenance price is offered.
I am 1 year rider and I never loaded the bike ... The bike traveled only 1200 KM,
At HD workshop I saw 3 Motorcycles of Same model with the same and different problems.
No proper feedback from HD hiding from the street 750 owners the problems of the 2015/2016 models.
No feedback no proper maintenance but offering new bike of another model (2017/2018 - not within the budget)
They can compensate 1500 USD only if you choose another bike at a price of 17,000$ as minimum which will be the down payment of your next new bike only from the same dealer.
I Like HD but I got a hard stress for the first bike I used.
I will take sometime to make my decision so I will choose the correct HD model which will fit my requirement but not from the dealer
I suggest HD to compensate all the owners of Street 750 who have the same issues and defaults ...
Actually I lost about 3700 USD on this bike and it is parking beside th building waiting someone to buy it for spare parts or scrap.
Thanks for all here and for your support.
Should have bought a Sportster. Most reliable bike they have.
Damn to silent
Agreed
haha "i think I look cool on a harley", nobody thinks your cool except other HD riders, doesnt matter how much ink, vans tennis shoes or suicidal tendancies ballcaps/flannels you wear....harley image is all in your head lol
Harley's are fun though, that's all I care about.
