- It's the biggest film of the year so far - and aside from encouraging us all to wear pink, Barbie has also inspired a surprising new cosmetic craze. In the hope of achieving the famous doll's slender, elongated neck - a rising number of patients are choosing to get Botox injected into their shoulders. But is life in plastic all that fantastic? Aesthetics specialist, Dr Amiee Vyaz will be joining us alongside content creator, Sarah Allison who’s had the procedure herself.

At school I was teased for having a naturally long neck, now all of a sudden its a Barbie neck
Why do people do it, it can go so wrong without the possibility of reversing the damage! Playing with your life when you have something like this done!
The before and after photos are stupid. One is photoshopped, with makeup and completely different lighting and distance to the camera and the other isn’t.

I will never be convinced that injecting Botulism poisoning into your body will not have horrific long term effects. Botox has only been around since the early 2000s. When we see a sudden spike in new cancers among women we’ll know why.

@@NoProbablyNot No, but Botox is literally botulism poisoning. Ask any doctor and they’ll tell you that. Being a non-doctor, I can still use common sense and think poison=bad. Injecting them into your body to paralyze nerves sounds dangerous. And since there are no long term studies on it, I think I’ll just keep my little wrinkles. Aging is inevitable. The only way to stop aging is to die.

Great isn’t it … not . My mother has Alzheimer’s and has badly contracted hands yet she can’t get Botox for love nor money despite the recommendations by physios.
Be nice if they did something about people who need it .

@@mes1220 well she’s had her other facial features augmented, but they’re not in proportion with one another. They’re discussing her neck, but I’m soo hyper focussed on her face.
