Control type is for fps games in which the accuracy is more important than the speed to target. Speed type is for moba where accuracy isnt as important but speed is u would need to click fast to win in a moba.

For control type mousepad, you must own a good mouse like corsair or logitech g102 etc, if you have normal cheap optical mouse, it won't track properly.

No, it depends on what kind of games you play and how you like to play them.
If you want to develop perfect accuracy and mind to muscle connection while aiming in shooters, then buy control type
If you're just a casual gamer and/or play single player games to relax, then buy the speed type because it's comfortable and smooth
Not sure about editing since I haven't personally done it, but I've heard control works better

I am razer deathadder v2 user playing csgo since 9yrs at ingame sens of 1.47 and mouse dpi of 400 that escaltes to effective dpi of 588....with raw input off....and i am using a razer control pad...and i love it!! The movement feels precise and u have lot of control on ur flicks!! Go for control pad guys...and moreover speed type pads collect gunk quickly and the feel becomes draggy after few months!!!

hello how your speed pad is doing now? please tell me if quality has degraded. I am asking because i bought a mouse pad and it was foamy and soft but in 1 year all foamy cotton like thing came off and cloth is accumulating dirt because top layer has gone and now i cant even play. like you said you used control pad for 1 year and it still looks good. Its still working fine, just got little tidy, need to be washed.. Lol..I didnt liked speed one because it felt me too slippery. It depends on choice and also on our mouse bottom grip.
