I have just purchased the psr sx900 from Rimmers music Blackpool and should be delivered (hopefully) August but very much looking forward to playing the psr sx900 to my clients in the near future. Stay safe 👍👍
Although recently I seemed dead serious about buying a Tyros or Genos I'm thinking maybe one of the PSR-SX keyboards might be better for my needs as it's smaller and has it's speakers built into it although I will mainly be doing sequencing with it so I will most likely hear it through my monitor speakers. But knowing it has very similar saxophones to Halion 6 I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed with a PSR-SX700 or SX900. It's all black appearance is also a vast improvement over the PSR-S series. This is pretty much a mini Genos. I need something a bit better than my PSR-295 which has been my current keyboard since 2004!
Update, just before I was due to buy a new keyboard I ended up resigning from my job and as I'm unemployed I can't afford to spend £1,000 on a keyboard in case I ever had to sell it. I was so disappointed but I have just about got over it.
How does the S. Art Piano sound on this keyboard behave compared to those on Yamaha digital pianos(e.g. P515). Does the keyboard produce sympathetic/cabinet resonance while playing?
Pianos here sounds like crap. Avoid Yamaha PSR's if you want better piano sounds. These PSR keyboard piano sample is from 18 year old Yamaha stage piano! Very ridiculous for a young 2000$ instrument!
Hello, I just have one question that I can't get resolved anywhere, let's see if you can help me, is the quality of the styles the same on both keyboards? For example, do dance or pop styles sound better, more realistic, in 900 than in 700? I'm not talking about quantity, I already know that the psr sx 900 has more, obviously, I'm talking about quality, I've heard that the bases of the psr sx 900's styles are those of the Genos but not the psr sx 700's, is that right? Thank you
They are not the same. The SX700 is too downgraded and has nothing found in the Genos or even the Tyros 5. The SX900 sounds great in styles because the 900 model has new Revo drum kits and dance drum kits and the Seattle Strings from the Genos. It also features new brass, steel acoustic guitar from Tyros 5. And some human voices in the old Tyros 4. The SX700 sounds like a old keyboard, while SX900 sounds like a real, actual song.
@@amusic9825 You are the first person to answer my question with specific information, this will help me in my decision which of the two keyboards (psr sx 700 or psr sx 900) to choose, thank you very much and best regards
@@amusic9825 AMusic has called it absolutely correct. Not only are the drums on PSR-SX900 significantly better than SX700, but the voicing is different. Styles will sound more like Genos on SX900, and more like Tyros on SX700.
Use the brasshornsshake voice or the big band trumpet voice and strike the key harder. It will trigger that effect. If you don't have the strength to trigger it with default settings, adjust the velocity curve to soft.
Hi, Babis. Thank you! The brass shake effect is found on several of the SuperArticulation voices in the Brass section. On some of the Voices, it's triggered by velocity. On others, it's triggered by pushing the joystick forward. Prefer the velocity switched Voices, as you don't need to remove your left hand from playing chords. Hope that makes sense. :-)
Hi, Gantswood. Only Genos (and Tyros) have aftertouch. The PSR-SX voices are optimised to use things like delay vibrato on guitars to compensate. If you'd like to add the bowing and crescendos attainable on instruments with aftertouch, you can always add a FC7 expression pedal. It's a good compromise. :-)
Is there a tutorial of how to play back a list of songs, one by one? As it is now the keyboard plays only one song and then stops. I need for it to keep going to the next song, and then the next..... Thanks!
Hi, Helmut. If you press the SONG button on the panel, then look towards the top of the screen. Tap the DUAL/LIST switch so that LIST mode is selected. Tap ADD SONG at the top right of the screen, and you can create a list of songs which will play one after the other. Enjoy. :-)
Hi, Julius. Yes, indeed it does. They work really well on the touch screen, as you can simply draw the drawbar "shape" you require on the screen. It's really quick, and VERY effective. I'll do an organ flutes video on Genos/SX900/CVP809 soon.
