@@carolynlundy569 Ah, you were fortunate in your father. Mine introduced me to the delights of John Philip Sousa - he always loved a march, and would often turn one on in the morning to get us going.
These Piano Trios are a God Send For All Chamber Music Lovers. This Chamber Music Of Beethoven is worth listening to over and over again as such an excellent performance is rare.
I've always been fond of chamber works and the chamber works of Hayden, Mozart and Beethoven are simply beyond words...these Piano Trios are, if I had to pick a word...simply celestial...thank you for sharing these wonderful works...they make great company...
When I listen to Beethoven I think Plato may have been right in saying the usual world is a cave of shadows and there is another world where everything exists in a perfect state
This is truly real reality since Beethoven connect through his music to the only one reality that is was and will. The Great Presence of the I Am Who I am. Blessings :Adonai
What a superb group of musicians. I like everything about these performances. Well done, Trio Elégiaque! For over ten years The Trio Elégiaque has been one of the key chamber music ensembles in the musical landscape. Members are Philippe Aïche violin (concertmaster of Orchestre de Paris and conductor), Virginie Constant, cello (winner of the Maria Canals Competition) and François Dumont on piano (Chopin Competition and winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition). The Trio Elégiaque embraces a wide repertoire: their complete Beethoven Trios, in concert (at the Opéra Comique in Paris, Molière hall in Lyon, Rennes, Lugano, the Festival of Ljubljana in Solvenia …) recorded by Brilliant Classics in 2013 is particularly exceptional.
Maestro Dumont never won the Queen Elizabeth Competition. He was a laureate but not the winner. Please cheque your facts before making false claims. Thank you.
@@thepianocornertpc Why such hostility? This came from a review on the web. I merely paraphrased it here because at the time there was such a paucity of information about this group and their splendid recording. I certainly meant no disrespect, but only wanted to share what I had uncovered about this remarkable trio of musicians. I couldn't care less about who wins contests, but I have huge respect and admiration for wonderful artists like these, and possibly, yourself.

And what more can I say about the genius that is Beethoven that hasn't already been said? Just how someone can compose such awe-inspiring music is beyond me

There's something about this combination of instruments that makes these works so appealing to me. I started out a couple of weeks ago with the complete piano sonatas, then on the the violin sonatas, thence the string quartets, liking each collection better than the one before it - and now these masterpieces. Perhaps it's just that I can hear each instrument's lines so clearly . . . the Trio is marvelous; thanks so much for posting this; it's balm to my ears in the Age of Covid.
You're right, some combinations are compelling. I love piano trios and string quartets. A string quartet is something like an intelligent conversation between composer, musicians and listener.
NIIIIIICE!! Gloriously and sensitively played. The trio is an intimate musical form, and this is indeed intimate: color me impressed!! (and happy, lol)
These trois are just like a guide from the beginning of the so-called "first period" of Beethoven" to the beginning of his last period. Havind here all the series is of course quite long to her ar, buut is an unique exploratiion of the world of Beethoven.
Thank you yet again Brilliant Classics. These were very soundly performed throughout- what a totally in sync trio. These trios are not the easiest to play: I remember playing the piano parts with two friends in our Conservatorium days, as we explored all but the posthumous E flats: WoO63, op 1 no1 (very pretty Scherzo), op70 no2, op 44 (my favourite), op 63 and op 38 (the last, op38, we performed, me, mostly with my teeth gritted). You just keep on keeping on finding delights for us don't you BC? I've often thought that Beethoven was his most light hearted when he wrote these works.
This is astonishing. 5:55:00 of just piano trios by Beethoven--who isn't considered an especially prolific composer (compared to, say, Bach, Mozart, or Schubert). How many hours and minutes does the rest of his music add up to? And what about the guys I mentioned in parentheses? I see in the recommended list all 32 sonatas are about 9 hours of music. (My God, what have I been doing with my life?)
Commendatore....If you had to characterize Beethoven's three Manners VERBALLY -- perhaps an impossible task -- What comes to your mind, personally? To me, it's such a huge arc toward denser complexity and profundity, away even from Melody (?), Accessibility….but I'm a dilettante and not too astute!

@@richardcleveland8549 I was very fortunate. Both of my parents were very musical. My father had perfect pitch. He would listen to a piece and set down at the piano and play it. I like Sousa to. I was in the band.
@@carolynlundy569 Ah, lucky you! Much as I love music, I'm completely unmusical - the only instrument I play is the CD player!

I love Beethoven's chamber music and this one with the complete piano trios is superb!!
I'm expressing nothing more than my own personal preferences. YMMV. To me, no one surpasses Beethoven's trios. It's a side of him I'd never explored.
Absolute;y the finest performance of chamber music I've heard. Perfect pitch, precise ensemble, amazing tempi, the rapture of Beethoven at his peak.
This level of genius is mind-blowing.
When I listen to Beethoven I feel like this life is a dream
When I listen to Beethoven I think Plato may have been right in saying the usual world is a cave of shadows and there is another world where everything exists in a perfect state
This is truly real reality since Beethoven connect through his music to the only one reality that is was and will. The Great Presence of the I Am Who I am. Blessings :Adonai
The performance is brilliant, the music pure genius! Thanks!
Thanks for the info
Maestro Dumont never won the Queen Elizabeth Competition. He was a laureate but not the winner. Please cheque your facts before making false claims. Thank you.
@@thepianocornertpc Why such hostility? This came from a review on the web. I merely paraphrased it here because at the time there was such a paucity of information about this group and their splendid recording. I certainly meant no disrespect, but only wanted to share what I had uncovered about this remarkable trio of musicians. I couldn't care less about who wins contests, but I have huge respect and admiration for wonderful artists like these, and possibly, yourself.
There is no hostility, on the contrary. I used the words"please" and ended with "Thank you".Best regards.
The first song on this track reminds me of my blessed childhood memories w/ my Israelite family I grow up with
There is no better gift for the soul !!! Thank you very much for sharing this musical gem. Regards...
Merveilleux trios de Beethoven et formidablement joués !

I have been in love with the Archduke op. 97 the third section for the last week. I have seek out all the different versions here on TH-cam. I can tell you I only listen to this one here three times today, hey, it's just 4pm so never know? 03:50,:29. Cantabile.
God yes!!!
Sorry, but I have to gush. I can't get enough of these trios, they are simply 6 hours of heavenly bliss. Thank you Brilliant Classics for this wonderful recording. The musicians are top of their league; I cannot imagine the number of weeks of practice it took to achieve this; I'm blown away by your effort and your amazing interpretation. And what more can I say about the genius that is Beethoven that hasn't already been said? Just how someone can compose such awe-inspiring music is beyond me
What a fantastic recording...the performance it is just brilliant. Wish we have access to know the identity of those musicians. Many thanks for a day of pleasure.
Thank you for share it. (Korea)

Gracias a Ustedes!!!
Agradecido.
NIIIIIICE!! Gloriously and sensitively played. The trio is an intimate musical form, and this is indeed intimate: color me impressed!! (and happy, lol)
!!!!Gracias
Great & Majestic Masterpieces...Great Performance...!
Beethoven, Beethoven, Oh~, Beethoven !!!
Great thanks for your posting,
The trio in D mayor, after shymphony No. 2 Opus 36 it's a perfect score and the interpretration a wonderful dream.
There is Beauty and symmetry here; form and structure indeed, buttressed with passion.
Absolutely wonderful playing Thanks.
Thanks for the beautiful music. I appreciate your effort
These trois are just like a guide from the beginning of the so-called "first period" of Beethoven" to the beginning of his last period. Havind here all the series is of course quite long to her ar, buut is an unique exploratiion of the world of Beethoven.
bella musica
Writing a history research project on Ferdinand Magellan's first circumnavigation of the globe, he may end up Vienna! LOL! Very inspiring music.
I do know much English but this bring teers to me eyes.
Tears😁
Deliciosa música !!!Es una gran dulzura escucharla ! Infinitas gracias
Cananeos
Excellent musicianship and very sensitive editing ! Thank you so much.
At 3:06:37 there is a direct callback to some melodies in his sonatas
This is astonishing. 5:55:00 of just piano trios by Beethoven--who isn't considered an especially prolific composer (compared to, say, Bach, Mozart, or Schubert). How many hours and minutes does the rest of his music add up to? And what about the guys I mentioned in parentheses? I see in the recommended list all 32 sonatas are about 9 hours of music. (My God, what have I been doing with my life?)
He is considered one of the greatest composers of all time... He might actually be the highest ranked of them all tbh
Complimenti, Musica dolce, meravigliosa. E' un piacere ascoltarla durante la lettura . Grazie
Reconfortant, armonios - ca toate creațiile inspirate divin!
What such masterpieces you posted ,,,,,,!!!

Not for nothing, but the Menuetto for Opus 63 is tracklisted as 3hours30 and maybe should get listed at 4h30. Thanks again for the Ludwig Van.
Don't stop you channel!
As long as people watch we won't stop uploading!
These trios allow to follow Beethoven from his 'first manner' to the edge of his 'third manner'. The trios op 70 ae typical of his 'second manner' .
At 02:57:26 a bit of Waldstein piano sonata :D
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!
