Singapore has closed off popular tourist coastal hotspots on the island of Sentosa because of an oil spill created when a Netherlands-flagged dredger collided with an anchored Singaporean fuel supply ship on June 14, 2024. Authorities have been fighting the slick using oil dispersants, but the island state’s topography has been making clean-up difficult. Parts of the beach have been closed to the public.

Sentosa is not "man-made" as the video claims, it has always been there. It has been subjected to a lot of development including land reclamation, but it is not an artificial island like the ones they have in Dubai. Sentosa was originally known as Palau Blakang Mati before it was turned into a holiday resort island. Just ask any Singaporean.

The water around the south side of Singapore has always been polluted, and with visible oil.
Sometimes, the area smells of oil strongly.
Yet some pay millions to stay there 😂
Looks like the beach must be declared unsafe for generations to come.

As much as I’m concerned with the human being especially the children’s being around the beach,
I’m also worried for the animals especially the otters who I love dearest..
hopefully the matter’s will be resolved soon

The dredger that punctured the stationary oil tanker and her insurer...whats coincidental is that it experienced a sudden loss of engine and steering control similar to what MV Dali (Singapore flag ship) experienced before it hit a pier of the Baltimore bridge and collapsed it. MPA has her hands full....

Just thinking we need a lot of hair and fur to help clean up as they absorb oil well.
The age old saying, oil and water can never get along....it can be a indirect message to ICJ ruiling on pedra branca....who knows, what was the motive. DID MPA, advise ships with oil facility not to anchor near to some miles of the beach facility...? Who was the captain what was his nationality? How long will it take, to see the venomous light green sea. Forged by the city! Some claim its a malay sea, now its a black sea!

its probably a random footage taken, it is a flag flypast rehearsal for National Day on 9th August

actually Singapore is quite arrogant in many terms, there many small island near Singapore that underdeveloped like from malaysia or indonesia, this 2 country just need to sacrifice one of their small island and singapore are done for
What's stopping Malaysia or Indonesia from doing this if it was that easy? Is it because Malaysia and Indonesia are such generous neighbours of Singapore and aren't interested in the profits that such a move brings?
It is the PAP which is arrogant and real Singaporeans have been suffering under them more so in the last 20 years. They do not consult the people on any of their policies and has made our lives very bad and miserable.
This is confusing. How will Malaysia or Indonesia sacrificing an island or two help destroy Singapore? And why would those 2 countries do that anyway.
