Me to I've been using it to paint and retop old end tables, shelves and it's impossible to get all the bubbles out I keep asking what is the trick to this! Now I know!
You have some wonderful ideas. Love the bathroom tips.. I noticed you decanted the hydrogen peroxide. It loses its effectiveness in clear containers. It needs to be in dark or opaque bottles.
To keep your bins from sliding around, use the poster putty that Dollar Tree sells. Put a tiny piece on the corners of the bottom of the bins and press them down to the bottom of the drawer. his works like a charm, but if you decide to redo the drawer, it pops off easily. Using the little dishes seems like a waste of usable space in the drawer.
We are empty nesters also. Over the past few months I've been restocking my kitchen items into cute containers. Such as the lucite containers with the locking lids. Recently my daughter asked why I was doing this. I said because now that you and your brother are grown it's my time to have nice things. She said she never realized that I was just making do so we could give them a good life. She gave me a huge hug and said thank you ❤️. So for her birthday in January I will be getting her some nice containers so she can feel special also 💕
I can relate to this. I had my three children rather young, worked full-time (and overtime) and attended school full-time when I could. Finally bought an 850-900sf condo in a really nice suburb of Chicago. My children are pretty much grown now and can't believe the money they see me spend now. I'm still pretty frugal but now it is time for momma some nice things and time-saving devices around the house!
I like to pick one project for the week. That way I can just work on it a few minutes a day until I've finished. Little by little it gets finished! This is rewarding for me without feeling stressed to get it finished.
Yes. I have so much reorganizing to do that being overwhelmed and stressed is what stops me from even beginning to do so. Thank you so much for the tips. I will tackle one thing for a week or how long it will take to finish without feeling stressed.
I love the idea of using foam board for the bottom of a drawer so that you can permanently fix anything to it that you want without having to worry about the drawer itself.
New subscriber here!!! I’m married 61, and my husband is 64. He had a 3 bedroom home to himself, and I had the same. After his retirement we moved to my home and had to share the space. He’s a boarder-line hoarder, I’m a minimalist. I don’t think people realize how important space is. Thank you for your tips, because trust me we were headed to divorce court 😅 it has become a battle of determination when it comes to his space, my space, and our space. 😂😂😂😂
I recently retired, and I am having SO much fun organizing our home! It's been like a source of entertainment for me. I ❤ the $Tree organizational items! Thanks for the tips!
Great video! Just a suggestion for keeping the drawer trays/bins from moving around is using the balloon dots from Dollar Tree or the tacky stuff, or even museum gel.
Wow Shannon ! This was a work of art, filled with so much information. I will rewatch it several times for all these great ideas. ideas. Next time with pen in hand. This must have been a huge amount of work for you . Thank you so much. There are so many ideas I am going to try. One being looking for the right Dollar store. Mine doesn’t have half the things you were showing. Thanks again .
I moved into a 420 sq. ft house, after living with other people over 7 years. First I had to purchase basic furniture. I had no real storage / closets. I figured that out with metal racks and baskets. Now I’m planning to move into a 300 sq ft garage apartment ! Oh I’m over whelmed to the max! I have things that I absolutely need to get rid of!!! This has helped a bit giving me ideas. Thank you! Now only to get a few elves to help me de clutter!!! Lol
So I used the desk organizer set for my makeup. The rectangular piece for my everyday makeup, the letter holder for my regular palettes and the pen holders for my makeup brushes and hair tools. It’s so cute!
I just subscribed to your Channel I am moving out of a 1440 sq ft home I am moving into a 4 32 square foot tiny house my husband and I are empty nesters also I loved your content I never thought about the Dollar Tree of all the organizations they have I have been so overwhelmed and trying to downsize I believe that this will help thank you so much for sharing
Awesome, helpful ideas. Now I just need to get out of my depression and get motivated. This is the first Holy Week & Easter without my Mommy who was my world.
Shannon this video had so many awesome ideas. I too am a empty nester with 1100 square feet of living space. It's amazing what one can store in these simple Dollar Tree containers and it still looks like high end ideas.
Great ideas. I do love Kathryn from Do it on a Dime, Bethany from Bargain Bethany, and Melissa Maker from Clean My Space. I follow all 3 of them. Thank you.
When you mentioned closing the lids tight & brown sugar, it reminded me of a few tips. If your brown sugar gets hard, it's still good, it just mean the moisture evaporated. You can drape with a moist papertowel, microwave it 10-20 seconds at a time and loosening it w a fork or processor. Or place a piece of bread or slice of apple in with it in the air tight container and leave overnight (then toss bread/apple). :) Oh my gosh, I am SO glad I found your channel!! I have a REALLY small kitchen and bathroom, it drives me crazy trying to organize and figure out how I'm going to put things away, etc. Your little containers with the spices are FANTASTIC! I have bottles on the back of my stove, next to my stove, over my stove on the shelf... geesh! I'm excited to do your hack and it will look SO nice!
The look of the newly reorganized bathroom vanity drawer is amazing!! So upgraded looking! Using lucite frames in drawers … brilliant! Brand new subscriber! Looking forward to watching more of your videos 😊 Love Do It On a Dime and Bargain Bethany too!! ❤
We’ve been empty nesters for a couple of years, but just yesterday, after saying “pretty soon”, we decided to sell our house this spring. It’s too big for us now that three children are on their own, and we want to downsize. We’re also moving to a different state, however this new state is walking distance from us already! 😉 We’re excited for this adventure!
And the small plastic black and white floating shelves from dollar tree I put above all my electrical outlets in my room, bathroom living room and office to place cell phones while charging, headphones, tablets it's so much more convenient and better looking!
Oh, I'm just loving all these organizing suggestions! Thank you for all the time you've put into this! I don't think people realize what a time suck video editing is. 29:43 Hydrogen Peroxide needs to be kept in amber or opaque containers. I usually mimic the type of container it comes in when deciding on alternate storage, it's usually sold a certain way for a reason. (bleach products and hydrogen peroxide are two that come to mind that are in opaque containers).
Oh! Thank you for the bleach info! I knew hydrogen peroxide had to be in a solid container, but not bleach. Wondering too…. Does it have to be amber in color for HP, or can it be a solid white?
Wow!!! This is the best organization video I've seen in a long while. I'm definitely saving this to refer back to as I go through my new home to get things neat and tidy Thank you. Positive and creation energy to you 💛
Just a tip I use the hanging shoe organizer you used for your cleaning supplies for my tumblers and to go coffee cups so I can just grab and go and not sort thru cups in a cabinet!
Another way to feel special and organize too is to save shoeboxes. If you're a crafty person then craft paint and or decoupage them for storage. A shoe box can be cut down a bit to fit in specific cupboards too. I also really like the turn tables, but this site focused on a particular product only. I too pick one project at a time instead of overdoing it and getting frustrated.
Absolutely love your videos! I’ve started really taking inventory of what I don’t use or need and getting rid of the clutter. I feel so much better and peaceful, it really works! Thank you so much!
When you showed the clear plastic picture frame used to make a cell phone or tablet holder for your kitchen cabinet… If you use a heat gun carefully, you can warm that plastic so that it will bend up and create more of a shelf for your device. I would also recommend some drawer liners that would keep the device from slipping once you have it resting in the (formerly known as a) picture frame.
Love your genius ideas! ❤️ I understand that most Dollar Tree stores are messy and not fully stocked, but my suggestion is to avoid the stores that are near shopping centers and where it's high traffic because sadly those stores are usually low-staffed.
Thank you so much for this excellent video with many great ideas and even the hacks. I love dollar tree, but I hate the” W”place…… I also moved from the four level house to 1400 ft.² plus an extra storage unit which does help with the overflow and uncertain holiday items that are only used once a year. anyway, as you stated it takes organization when you start living in smaller spaces. I was well on my way to a beautiful and organized home as an interior designer but also, I learned a lot of these ideas from my mother as she raise 12 children for the better half of my life and a story and a half home of the new house being built, she kept a beautiful clean, organize home and she did not have the money to buy all the supplies that people have available to them now and yet she managed to use other non-purchased items for containers to corral the excess, such as covered cereal boxes with contact paper and things like that, making them waterproof and dirt proof and easily wiped out she also bought scented or perfume papers to line the girls, dresser drawers, and again using shoe boxes she divided the drawers into halves and thirds for easy organization of socks and underwear, and so forth. I simply mentioned some of these things because not everybody has a dollar tree or even another store nearby thinking of rural people that only make one or two times trips to town in a month and also to think outside the box during this challenging time of cost increase in food and gas. Also, you can recycle containers that you might otherwise throwaway and wash them well then use the bottom half of them. I have saved this video so that I can watch it over and over and also send it to my sisters and friends it was so excellently and well done but I want to be able to refer to it often. I have spent the last 11 months in the hospital or physical therapy rehab for a hip replacement. It was a big unexpected issue. In my life. Some of these things, I am going to have to redo as being away from the home, and other people doing stuff, makes it an organize very quickly and endeavor new cleaning and as you stated earlier, when you were physically limited to how far you can bend you do you have to Redo things as you did have them before, so this video came at an excellent time for me. Thank you for your willingness to help educate us about not only what’s available in dollar tree and other stores but also. How to organize our homes in so many options, and I want to destroy this last idea out. If you don’t have a printer for making the label, you can buy an inexpensive hand LabelMaker. It may not look like the one she showed, but it will work. And if you have a nice hand, writing, you can do your own labels that way also just try to use the same pin marker♥️
You're absolutely right! There are MANY containers from grocery store items that can be reused for organizing. I'm on a very limited income and use them as often as possible.
Thank you Shannon for these great ideas!! I'm moving into a a smaller home and your ideas with Dollar Tree products will help me to organize my new home.
I really liked the clear acrylic jewelry pieces! All ideas were great❤. I'm a flip flop fanatic (my kids will tell you!!), and the litter box under chair, couch, bed, etc. Is fabulous😂🎉 THANK YOU!
Hi Shannon thank you for the beautiful organization tips I would probably put something sticky under the large trays and not use those squiggly bowls in between Just another idea They look lovely thank you! and I love your marble contact paper & your videos
There are so many useful products at Dollar Tree. I do buy there…..knowing I may or may not need to ‘exchange things’. There always is something there……that is so very much useful!!! Carry on into all your wonderful organizing! All of u will be glad that you did!!! ❤️
I'm very proud of myself for owning almost all of these items already from Dollar Tree but you gave me so many new ways to use them I never would've thought of but it has changed my life keeping my makeup, skincare, bath & body, office supplies, tools etc in the clear bins and lucite drawers! I use them more often when I actually see them! I have made it a habit to clean and reorganize and take stock every two months or so and it just really helped me utilize space and enjoy my surroundings a lot more! Thank you I watched the entire video and can't wait to use the marble contact paper I bought a month ago in new ways too!
You have such great ideas!! When you have less of a mess around you, your life becomes more organized. I am looking forward to seeing more of your ideas. Thank you so much!!
The microfiber towels are the BEST for cleaning windows, mirrors, and stainless steel appliances. I didn’t even use them until my current job, which is in a hotel. I have bought several at DT since then - they level-up the cleaning process 👍
I take a lot of supplements, so I use the small plastic containers, that she's using for spices, to put all of my morning ones and evening ones in for a week at a time. That saves me from opening a bunch of bottles at every meal. Actually, I didn't even label each container - I just have a morning row and evening row in the cabinet. Thanks for the great video. LOVE MY DOLLAR TREE STORES.
You have so much to offer with ideas to downsize. It amazes me with what it means you used to have all the basics that is needed organized. I thank you for the comment you made about it's taken three years to get where you are. That is an encouraging me to stop looking, saying I'll do it later or even start a project but if idgi g it two to three weeks afterwards. Keep on sharing. You never know who could make a difference in a life when going through stuff in life. Living in a rental that is amazing! Thank you again!!!
For using vertical space under the sink, use the locker bins with the leucite party trays, they come in all kinds of colors. They fit right on top of the locker bins, and you are able to stack up to maximize vertical space.
That is a perfect idea for your sink with makeup. Especially if you're not a morning person rushing to get ready, u can just throw the makeup back in the in. Then put just the tub away, it's picked up. No worries about having to put it all away in different places. i love that idea, but i have a tiny oval sink in my bathroom but i still could find something, but yours was a perfect fit. Good idea.
Well my list has grown at what I will be looking for this week while at work. 🤷🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️ For our bathroom I so love the collapsible baskets DT just brought back. I can put four in our bathroom cupboards that the shelves are not movable. I can put four baskets per shelf and they are organized by type of product so I know what we have and what we need. Also I put the little 3 pack of basket labels. They are perfect for me to label with dry erase markers so my family know what is what. ❤❤
My husband and I downsized too after our son got married. Sold our house renting and living in a basement of a friends house that has absolutely no storage or closets so I’ve had to be very creative using dividers, baskets, under bed storage, etc. But we are content with this new chapter in our lives and less stressed. BTW love the pill box idea 🤯. I see my next project coming up lol. Thanks for your helpful, money saving ideas👍🏻
I love the ziplock pack that comes with both snack and sandwich bags in one box. So I keep refilling it using tape to strengthen the cardboard box!! As o we hat do I see on HSN?? >A bamboo made box that does the same! Why can't I ever get MY ideas to market???
Please do a show showing how to use inherited glassware, assorted out of date porcelain pieces, collectibles and old jewelry pieces. We all get these from family and friends. Please give us suggestions on how to use them & keep them out of the attic. Thanks loved this video!!
You should try the Marie kondo version of folding, you’ll get a lot more clothes in those drawers. And it’s easier to grab something and go without messing the other shirts up when pulling one out. I also like the pocket folding methods especially for little kids. Because even if they dump all the clothes on the floor the don’t unfold easily so it easier to pick it up and put it back. 😊
In my wood cabinets i have used peel And stick floor tile. Cut$ with scissors. And easy wipe and clean. Lasting for years. And if you need to replace pops up with butter knife. Contact paper is a pain to pull off. I use the peel and stick flooring is awesome. Give it a try. Its great under sink if you have water leak makes easy clean up. My kitchen. Great for shelf's great for pots and pans, drinking glass and dishes. Once you do this you won't go to contack paper. I have a great pattern one sale a box of tails was $21 for 40 tiles. Give a try, last for years .
I'm loving the rose gold organizers. I have to confess i still have the clear ones to finish. They really do make your drawers and shelves look neat & clean. Thank you!

You cannot store Peroxide in clear containers it will break down to water that is why it is always sold in dark brown bottles

I never thought of not removing the backing of the contact paper & just sticking down the edges! Mind blown 🤯! Genius!!!

Jeanette we are a community, right?
You have some wonderful ideas. Love the bathroom tips..
I noticed you decanted the hydrogen peroxide. It loses its effectiveness in clear containers. It needs to be in dark or opaque bottles.
Yes I recently learned that! Very important
Get an amber glass container.
To keep your bins from sliding around, use the poster putty that Dollar Tree sells. Put a tiny piece on the corners of the bottom of the bins and press them down to the bottom of the drawer. his works like a charm, but if you decide to redo the drawer, it pops off easily. Michelle love this idea!
Double side tape will work too, but man, is it a mess to remove. Shelf grip is the ticket.
I like the little dishes. I think it all depends on what you use and it’s size.
I was just going to say that it takes up space that could be used and that putty works great
I do like the look you did tho

You are one smart lady. I learned a lot from watching this. Thank you so much.
I’ve found that rolling T-shirts works better than folding them. By rolling you can see what you have without messing up the ones on top.
Marilyn good idea.
Yup
File them. Then there's nothing on top. I don't know how deep my tshirts would be if I rolled them.
My .MOM. Learned that tip in the Army. Circa 1942❤

Thank you so much! Prayers for swift healing.
You're absolutely right! There are MANY containers from grocery store items that can be reused for organizing. I'm on a very limited income and use them as often as possible.
The water bottles in the bathroom...genius!
Thank you Shannon for these great ideas!! I'm moving into a a smaller home and your ideas with Dollar Tree products will help me to organize my new home.

Hi Shannon thank you for the beautiful organization tips
I would probably put something sticky under the large trays and not use those squiggly bowls in between
Just another idea

First time viewer but highly enjoyed this! Before I knew it, I had watched the whole thing. You had some ideas that were new to me that are so great.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you for some great ideas! I love Dollar Tree’s supplies for organizing. You just brought their usefulness to a whole other level😉👍🏼❤️
You are so welcome!
I think this is the best organizing video I've ever watched. ❤
Frances you are so kind!
peroxide peroxide should be kept in a dark container. That’s why it comes in a dark container.
There are so many useful products at Dollar Tree. I do buy there…..knowing I may or may not need to ‘exchange things’. There always is something there……that is so very much useful!!! Carry on into all your wonderful organizing! All of u will be glad that you did!!! ❤️
So true!
You GO, Heather!!
You have such great ideas!! When you have less of a mess around you, your life becomes more organized. I am looking forward to seeing more of your ideas. Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you for many many ideas. I feel motivated now to just go and tackle my organization mess!
You can do this!
I love the pill box idea for vertically storing earrings etc! How genius is that!? 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks!!
The microfiber towels are the BEST for cleaning windows, mirrors, and stainless steel appliances. I didn’t even use them until my current job, which is in a hotel. I have bought several at DT since then - they level-up the cleaning process 👍
Using the clear tray on top of the bin for double storage was Brilliant! Thank you. Using this tip right away.
Glad it helped!
Those are not food safe and should not be used to store things you will consume.
My pleasure!
For using vertical space under the sink, use the locker bins with the leucite party trays, they come in all kinds of colors. They fit right on top of the locker bins, and you are able to stack up to maximize vertical space.
This was by FAR one of my FAVORITE organization videos. Great Ideas and so affordable THANK YOU FOR THIS !!!
My pleasure!
Thank you Shannon! These are awesome tips! I need you to come help me declutter and organize.
That medicine cabinet was fierce 🔥🥰
Thank you!!
Good idea.
Ashley glad you liked it!
Love the rose colored drawers
Well my list has grown at what I will be looking for this week while at work. 🤷🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
For our bathroom I so love the collapsible baskets DT just brought back. I can put four in our bathroom cupboards that the shelves are not movable. I can put four baskets per shelf and they are organized by type of product so I know what we have and what we need. Also I put the little 3 pack of basket labels. They are perfect for me to label with dry erase markers so my family know what is what. ❤❤
I’m talking all about labels soon! Great idea.
Collapsible baskets...dry eraser? on what?! Love the ideas ...please elaborate
Nancy my pleasure!
Once I find a pretty paper tissue box that I really like I simply cut an X in the bottom of it and refill it with more tissues.
I love the ziplock pack that comes with both snack and sandwich bags in one box. So I keep refilling it using tape to strengthen the cardboard box!! As o we hat do I see on HSN?? >A bamboo made box that does the same! Why can't I ever get MY ideas to market???
Great way to organize n celebrate n the cheap ., looks great
Thanks so much 😊
Great ideas and advice. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Please do a show showing how to use inherited glassware, assorted out of date porcelain pieces, collectibles and old jewelry pieces. We all get these from family and friends. Please give us suggestions on how to use them & keep them out of the attic. Thanks loved this video!!
Great ideas Leslie! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tip!
Rose Gold, Dollar Tree, best storage idea!
Hi Shannon, LOVE these rose gold lucite organizers. Great organization tips on a budget! Love it, thank you! ❤

Glad you like them!
Good idea!
Love your channel. We just downsized from a 5 bedroom house to 2 bedroom rental townhouse. I am learning so much from your channel. Thank you!
