I love how easily a story is conveyed with no words! Snüf hoarding the square only to realize the circle is seemingly more fun. And then Snif gives it to him, only then to realize the square had more uses then he thought! A great story all wrapped up in a fantastic animation.
Maybe because a similar idea and short was...but in 2010 by Pixar. Not the same exactly but you will see similarities for sure...check out Day & Night (Pixar). The designs make it feel 90s or 80s because of the Pink Panther influence hes mentioned.
This short reminds me of Pixar's _"Day and Night",_ but with the touch of UPA art style. Instead of fighting which days are better, it's the shapes that the dynamic duos are enjoying for themselves.
This whole thing is just gorgeous, a beautiful homage to classic animated shorts like Pink Panther, especially with the way the music informs what's happening onscreen, but taken to an even greater extreme! I applaud not just the animation, but also the composer for this short - breathtaking work all around

The animation and sound design are so good! The character designs remind me alot of Bone and the premise and story reminds me alot of that SpongeBob episode with the "worthless piece of paper". Both of which are things I love.

Been hearing a lot discouraging news about the animation industry lately, and I've started to dwell on the worst case scenarios for the future of this medium I adore. Then, I randomly find a short like this, beam, and am reminded that sincere animation is not going away anytime soon. Wonderful, wonderful work : ) : ) : )
You absolutely nailed the pacing and progression of classic theatrical cartoons! Everything about this short film feels both like it could've been made during the golden age of animation while also being fresh and unique for today. Great stuff!

This is such a nice love letter to animation! It feels like how every animator plays with shape and line and how one might see playing with the square as a blessing and other might see it as a nightmare! For me it just felt like 2 animators fighting over the thing theyd rather animate. Great acting, great timing and just an overall wonderful feeling! I loved it!!
This is just amazing it felt like a classic cartoon made nowadays completely no audio none of that stuff just a fun story with some shapes and some characters complete creativity

This short is so complete. The animation is outstanding, the storytelling is brilliant, and the soundtrack fits so well. I really hope more people find this
I need to show this to my nephews that fight over stuff. Now that I think about it, cartoons like this, using humor to show all the stages of a greedy or poor mannered person lerning a lesson, are probably very good for children, and they're so quick about it! We look back at all the old style cartoons and think its just violence and sillyness, but there's a lot of them that have this kind of "moral of the story" conveyed so simply! You get to root for a character, and see them go through a whole dang arc in 5 minutes! It's perfect! Cartoons for kids now are so over complicated to getting their point across, if they had a point at all. Anyway. Thems my thoughts. Beautiful animation, obviously. INCREDIBLE music too, can't forget that.
