      Nice 'Potato Masher'... One day, it'd be great to see you weld-up a 'flanged mace' head... Cold Steel have a cool looking design, but I'll wager you could have fun making it yourself at a fraction of the cost.

    I think the simplest weapons of any kind are usually the ones that do the most damage, and can outlast any “nicely made” froo froo blade or blunt smashing things. Great job with the D.P cameos by the way 😁👍🏽

    I actually really like this look. I've got a couple walking staves that I used plumbing fittings on. The caps will probably outlive the sticks themselves, though! 😆
    One thing I thought of later, though, was to use spray-on truck bed-lining (you know, kind of like Rhino Lining or whatever) on the ends to offer some kind of non-skid surface, and to keep the metal from wearing down.

    • @DiesInEveryFilm

    I have an old snow shovel handle in my basement that's probably 1" diameter by 30" or maybe even more. Now I know what t do with it. 👍 Scaling it up from 3/4" to 1" would add some weight to it. Filling it with smaller birdshot, like No. 9, which packs more densely would give it an even higher weight.

    • @DiesInEveryFilm

    • @Aliyah_666
      @Aliyah_666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikedalton268 There would still be reverberation. Do you realize how hard a human skull is or human bones actually are. Wood is better, in my opinion than metal for a handle. Otherwise why don't they use metal all the time for blunt instruments. Won't rust, properly sealed it will last decades, plus if it breaks oh well it's easy to attach the head to a random hardwood stick. Axes use fiberglass or wooden handles, sledgehammers the same. Unless you have good thick leather wrapping cord it will be less comfortable then the wood period.

    • @mikedalton268
      @mikedalton268 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Aliyah_666 I can see that reverberation could be a problem. My biggest concern with the wood is it only appears to be threaded into the head about 5/8 -3/4" max. To me thats a little shallow cosidering the extra weight he added. Sledges and axe handles penetrate through. The threading might tear/break depending on the wood. I wouldnt worry about rust either. Id probably only last about ten to fifteen minutes before i was exhausted and be overwhelemed by the zombies anyways. Either way 'Swing away Merril!"

    why is the wooden dowel preferred over an iron one?

    As always educational and entertaining. Suggestion, make a full size, 1/2 size, 1/3 size and 1/4 size replicas of WW II commando knives

      Thank you mate, im keeping away from standard knives for now as they take up so much time to make and the views just don’t pay for my time on them.

      Thanks, it’s methylated spirits just to clean and dirt or oils off it.

    I have a ton of high priced weapons, but my most durable weapon has got to be my homenade mace. It's basically a steel bar with the gear from a 3 ton chain hoist welded to it. It's indestructible. I used a mig welder and turned into one solid piece of steel. It won't break. It crushes anything in front of it.
