@@DiesInEveryFilm I wonder, would these materials respond well to tempering? I don't think all ferrous materials do, but I wonder if the spike and hammer face would benefit from being heated up with a blowtorch and then quenched in oil...
@@DiesInEveryFilm It occurs to me that if you use a cross, rather than a tee, you can add another spike to the top. Then you'll have a hammer, a spike opposite it and a spike in between those.
Great build, man. My wife is currently using a cane my uncle made back in the early 90s-ish. It's a tube steel shaft with a solid brass billet for a handle. He made it so he could pretend he had a bum knee and carry a warhammer through the Atlanta airport without being questioned. I DID try to take an armadillo out with it one time.
Man I really like these types of vids because I only can use the tools my grandpa got and I can't afford any other tools because I'm young so it feels nice being able to get a idea of a good weapon with stuff I can fine and get ❤

Ok so I was checking out this old build of yours very cool sir and I was told by the gf that I should do something productive today seeing that she will not be at home ok heading to the store. I'll be following in your footsteps
You have inspired me to make my own. I used 3/4in fittings and a bushing to drop to 1/2in for a square plug instead of a spike. Going to ebonize the handle and then I can share some pictures of it. Or a video. Also building a much larger one with 1in fitting and going to to 1 1/2 or larger for the hammer face.
Genius build. Excellent example of what can be made with spare parts. Love going back to see what videos I had missed. You're expressions make me laugh so hard. You should have your own show on the telly. Cheers mate 🍻

Hi again mate. What did you use for the shaft handle, Is it a sledge/pick axe shaft. Also i live in Liverpool and cannot seem to find cast iron plumbing fittings anywhere 🤬where do you get yours? Btw your now my favourite TH-camr hands-down 😁
I live in the US and those parts are galvanized steel available at any hardware or pluming supply store. Do you not have stores like that in the UK? That would be a bummer.
@@mikedalton268 Sweden is also crap when it comes to buying materials. So jealous of your stores a lot of the time. Can't even buy borax here because it's "reproductively toxic". It's like living in cuckafornia without the weather.
That was sweet! So very simple and an incredibly effective and efficient version of a war hammer. I figured you might forge a bigger spike and thread it in, but that wouldn't have fit the overall build. Great job, I'm going to try one of these...
Wooden pallets are made from hard woods and can be had for free. The long closet rods are soft woods and the wood grain makes them prone to splitting. Additionally, having an oval profile versus a round profile is a better grip like a wood cutting axe. Some wheel weights from the tire shop or scrap yard are easily melted and added to the hollow hammer head would give more mass to the business end. Good build!
1 pallets aren’t all hard wood 2 this isn’t a closet rail it’s a hard wood dowel 3 lots of old war hammers were round and it’s perfectly fine as i showed. 4 these aren’t meant to be heavy they are light for fast striking. Please refrain from telling me how to do my job especially if you are just using opinion over actual knowledge.
Brilliant yet again, some imagination to make these things from so many different materials, another proper fun build as well, roll on the next bout of lunacy next week lol
Love the vids! Keep up the good work. Had some ideas if you're interested. What about using a small cap on the spike end, drilling a hole for it and grinding a lip on the spike to set up against the back of the cap. No way for it to work loose over time. Also keeping the threaded end on the butt cap and using the grinder to smooth off the exposed threads then drilling a hole though and riveting a piece through it.
If you don't already know you can cut a small groove into the thread of the two things you are screwing together (or just the father of them) so when you put cement or glue in it will lock together and be inseparable other than that great video and excellent build
