- Today we are going to unbox the Kato HO train track for our layout. We are opening:
3-104 HO HM1 R670mm Basic Track Oval with Power Pack
3-111 HO HV1 R730mm Outer Track Oval
3-112 HO HV2 Passing siding track set with #6 manual turnout
3-113 HO HV3 Interchange track set with #4 Electric Turnouts
3-114 HO HV4 Interchange track set with #6 Electric Turnouts
That's awesome I prefer hand laying track because it adds more details, but the kid is lucky to have such a large amount of stuff.
Yeah its amazing to have this stuff, Hand laying is cool though.
I really like that track with the ballast built in like that. Sure beats cutting cork. lol
Yeah same i agree. Also hi jaw tooth love your railfanning vids. Have a great day.
@@adensrailfanningproductions Thanks and I hope you have a great day also
Very enjoyable video - thanks for posting. I use the HO Kato track as I don't have room for a permanent layout so the sectional track is easy to put up and take down. I've had my pieces for about 7 years and it's still going fine. So good luck with your layout.
If you have a layout. You go have good luck too
That’s pretty cool, if I could afford it, I would definitely use unitrack, but I’m happy with my atlas snap track that’s served me well
Thanks! I have a slight bit of atlas snap track and it doesnt work too bad but the kato unitrack is definately better
Great layout, your son will love it for years. I share the contentment of running a Kato HO layout. I have purchased many of the same track additions. This level of railroading is new to me. This summer I plan to rebuild my layout using the appropriated building material as you did. Happy Railroading!
Well. Recently i rebuilt it on a floor of my bedroom after i moved the bed
Update i dont know anymore we moved the track to my room
really nice to see young kids in on this stuff it carries the hobby on
It sure does i mean im even getting in to repairing the trains (This comment was actually made by aden and yes this is what i do in my free time).
Good job guys, I’ll be waiting for more videos congrats
Im thinking about uploading somthing
Great video! Small world as I also have a son named Aydin!!! I’ve recently become a fan of Kato Unitrack. The sections go together so smoothly. Subscribing to follow the progress on this layout.
i Know ive never had a derailment caused by the track.
kato has a double cross over which is really nice
It sure is nice
I'd love to be that kid w all that track lol
Its amazing. ill just say
was trying to discern HV3 vs HV4 turnouts. you answered it. thanks
You are welcome.
Good Morning..I came across your channel this morning when I did a search on Kato HO track. After watching your video..I subbed and clicked the bell so I can follow you and Aden with the build. I am presently in N and always have been..however; I really like HO because I like to see what the figures are doing in the scene. I have recently moved and now have a new room in which I'll begin my new layout very shortly. So.. I am investigating whether or not I want to stay with N or switch to HO or even O three rail. I've never used but, have come to really like Kato track. That's why I searched Kato HO track. Anyway...thanks for sharing..I'll be looking forward to your upcoming installments on your layout. Tom
O 2 rail is better ;)
I hope you have a succesful layout and maybe some friends to run trains with or if you dont want that you can have a great time with your layout. Aden
Very good!
Thank you!
13:01 really!
Great video! I know it's been three years since this upload, but are you running a two power pack setup? I'm running an inner and outer loop setup connected with an HV4 turnout. I can backup onto the inner track, but as soon as I hit the switch to run only the inner track, the whole thing goes dead. Is there a way to make this work with one power pack?
You will need another controller for the outside track to work but crossing over will not work too well so i do not reccomend it
I wish I had the room for HO, I build N Scale right now. Looks like you guys have got a lot of nice Track Additions. You'll love the kato Unitrack it is such a good track/roadbed system. Have Fun!
We were thinking about getting n scale but we havent yet
I have a HM1+HV1+HV2x2+HV4 setup (HO). I would also like to extend length of each of my HV2 sidings for both the HM1 and HV1 ovals. Could you please advise how many pieces of Kato 2-150 (straight track) and Kato 2-230 / 2-240 (curved tracks for each oval, respectively) that I might consider before joining back to the main ovals?
I am currently using HV4 to Switch between ovals, however I would also like to have the option for the train to switch back without reversing. For my setup, would this mean purchasing either Kato 2-863 (manual) or Kato 2-861 (powered) right-hand turnouts for switching between the ovals?
Are any other accessories required to make this extension to my layout happen. For example, Kato 24-840 (turnout control switch), Kato 24-841 (turnout extension cord), Kato 2-504 (DC turnout machine)?
Thank you so much for your time and video!
Currently dont have the whole settup right now so i dont know,
I'm going to be using bachmann ez track with gray roadbed and nickel silver rails on my layout
bachmann is ok as long as your not doing switching with bachmann track but if your going to use bachmann i suggest using kato or something other than bachmann for your switch's
I havent used any bachmann switches but the kato ones work amazing!
Hi Ken! Best video I've found for this setup. I have a few questions as someone who is currently putting this setup together. You had mentioned 2 things you would do differently: #1 buying the individual pieces to reverse HV3 and extending the inside siding around a curve to connect to the back end. Like you, I also purchased a 2nd siding to go on the inside of the loop. Would you mind advising me on what specific pieces from KATO I would be looking to purchase and how many of each to accomplish those 2 improvements?
Like the other comment, Dont have the settup right now.
Thank you for sharing>conductor Lance
Perfectly informative, more so than my own train dispatcher! Thank you. Much appreciated. Pan Am Railways Intermodal Conductor Ayer, MA. Via Patriot Corridor to Interchange at Mechanicville, NY intermodal NS Yard. Thanks again. Very informative.
Thank you!
Loves it.. ❤❣️What's the Track Dimension. In Centimeter?
Most likely you can find it on google or whatever browser your using
If you want to know now its 16.5mm
Question can other Ho Scale Trains run on Kato Track Like Walthers Bachmann Life Like Etc ?
Yes they can i use bachman kato and athern and they work flawlessly
appreciate the info greatly. confused as to actual outer dimention of track (edge of ballast) width. Radius is clear, bur back of box shows greater width. can always wait to purchase table material, but must fit in room. example: R670 = 1340, but shown back box as 1382. 42 = width of one HO scale track, hence radius is center of track each track or as outside of one to inside of opposite?
Don't really understand what your saying but, Thanks for commenting!
@All Abord With Aiden awesome content and Im brand new to your channel please do more
Thinking about making a new video. Maybe i wont. Maybe i will. Who knows.
i did more
Are you able to run a train on both loops from a single power pack or did you have to supply power to both loops from separate power packs?
We had to use 2 seperate power packs, I dont think you can use 1 power pack for 2 tracks, Maybe if you try hard enough but i doubt it'll work
@adensrailfanningproductions ok, I've bought the same two loops but not crossover yet, good to know I need to buy other switches separately was planning to buy two of those boxes.
Nice I’m going to make a unitrack layout too. But mine is N scale
Nice n scale is great for people with low amounts of space
How do I wire this for dcc?
I dont know about dcc but im sure you can find other tutorials
@@adensrailfanningproductions oh ok
I have to ask what the product numbers of each piece included in the 114 HO HV4 Interchange track set with #6 Electric Turnouts are? I am trying to plan a layout in rail modeller pro, and need to know what each product piece number is please.
Im confused.
HV-3 seems to have metal frogs that can be electrified depending on the screw position underneath. All the other turnouts are plastic insulfrog types.
See this video for the live frogs on Kato N turnouts th-cam.com/video/oRkAhFoE-q8/w-d-xo.html
外国は良いですよね。HOみないな大型鉄道模型ができるスペースがあってさ、
はい、海外市場があるのは常に良いことです!
Do you think the kato track is better than the atlas track?
Kato has the better track.
I Haven"t tested atlas track but kato track is stable and great
What’s the length of the hm1
Unsure.
hey , may i ask , what dcc controller you use ? i am just starting out so wantedvto get some suggestions
Digitraxx or nce those are made here in the us and are bullet proof
I use DC not DCC
