Update: to me there are just way too many social networks and the new got to have app that can't be used to contact others on different apps. Twitter, whatsapp, tictoc, instagram, snapchat, tunblr and so many more. Then when a new one comes out that is all the rage. I'm basically done with it all. I hate texting, I was never good at typing, I'm a machinist not a typist and my fingers are to big for those small screens. My spelling isn't that good after going through government public schools that tried to teach phonic spelling and I type slow. Everyone that knows me knows not to text me. You have a phone to talk to others not to send text. I dumped a girlfriend for having to text every two minutes and stop a conversation or eating to do that. Unfortunately, sometimes this is the only way to connect to someone to get a response or get them to email you or to get a stupid code to install a program. Something needs to change. I'm not going to down load every new hot or popular app just to communicate with people or have to get some code to install a program.
Enough is enough, if they will not talk to me, F them, I'll go someplace else. That goes with those that take something out of context and think it is offensive, like a joke. I refuse to use facebook too.
Look, I'm all for competition, but not for exclusive sites that are designed not to work with others. All the kids and adult children might think it is so great to have 10K apps to deal with, but in time it is going to bite them in the ass when they miss and important message or something else.

hello boss, thanks for the vid but I am facing a prb since today morning. it says "your computer does not have enough space for whatsapp to run" but my laptop has 100 gb of free space.... i am using whatsapp web!

Does anyone here happen to know if it's possible to revert to the old 'connect via your phone' approach? I've used this feature for a few weeks now and I absolutely hate it.
- It forces your on screen clock on the browser tab to be in 12 hour am/pm clock mode and no way to change it
- You can't go back in your history in chats, also to dates after you have started using the feature
- Not all links work, either ones you share, or ones that are sent to you
It works most of the time, but the old way (with my phone next to me, which it does anyway) it worked ALL the time.
I would caution people about using this, because it's not without downsides. I've been trying to revert for a while now, but haven't been able to figure out how. If anyone has a tip, I'm very interested. I absolutely hate this feature.
Thank you for your comment. I am hesitant because it's only in beta and uses facial recognition. Will stay away.

the problem with this is that your phone has to be connected to wifi. is there an app or is there a way to use whatsapp desktop app without connecting your phone to a wifi?
