I enjoyed this whole-project vlog. Especially your evolving thought process: “this needle size will be ok… changed the needle size”; “the armholes may be too tight, so let’s block it … the armholes worked out to be ok as is.” So nice to see the recipient appreciating the project and explaining her length and fit preferences which might have stymied us (ahem) older knitters. 😂
oh that was so enjoyable to see the full prosses and the cute extra of your sister sharing her thoughts about her hand made gift was such a sweet bonus! thank you for the vblog
I just LOVED this episode! You provide all the interesting points of knitting this project, even the smallest details such as the temperature of the water when you block, and the problems encountered like the size of the armholes. It’s helps us think about our own knitting issues or hurdles. I also enjoyed the pattern - beautiful - and the choice of yarn - equally beautiful. It is reassuring to see the look after blocking. Thank you so much for this sharing!
Thanks for making this video, love seeing the top growing and to follow the progress of it. I need to try the line yarn. Maybe I knit the same for my sister. 😀
Love the vlog format! I hope you make more videos like this in the future! It's great to see all the details of a project from start to finish, all in one place. And your sister's cameo was so cute
Such a fun style video, hope there are more like these sprinkled in with the podcasts! Also definitely agree that armhole opened up after blocking. Beautiful top, perfect for summer and to transition into fall!
Thanks for sharing your progress. It was great to see how the yarn relaxed after blocking - definitely makes me want to try that yarn. And thanks to your sis for making her debut in the video. It was great to see the fit on her and that she's pleased with it. Would love to see more videos like this in the future.
Hello from New Zealand! Great video Amy. I like this format to mix in with your usual offerings. Especially love the clip from your sister - nice touch! Thank you!
This was fun Amy, so cute to see your sister at the end. Well done! It was also fun to hear Jonna from Knit together with Kim and Jonna mention you this week. I was so happy for you😃. Lol.
Amy it's been so much fun going through this process with you and Jill on a day when I am too tired or too lazy to do anything myself! I learned a lot and look forward to next time you share an experience like this with us!
What a special gift for your lovely sister! You are lovely, as well, and so thoughtful and talented! Thank you for sharing this. New viewer and subscriber. 😊
What a fun video! My living room looks the same, overrun by WIPs-but they’re stacked on the coffee table instead of the couch so the dog doesn’t get into them accidentally. I loved seeing your sister’s reaction at the end and the start to finish of the project. I’ll have to see if any of my LYS have this summer yarn in stock!
This was a great video to watch. Nice to see how others get their projects together. Also nice to see a fellow lefties. Even though I knit right handed, not left.
Loved watching this video! Your process is so much like mine. Two comments - first, master knitters will always recommend knitting your swatch a couple of inches bigger than the 4x4 given in the pattern to allow for wonky edge stitches (and your tension is generally more even in the middle of the swatch than at the sides) and in my experience I get better info from a 6x6 swatch. Second, stretchy jewelry cord from a craft store is hollow and works the same as barber cord for a more affordable price point.
Part of me wants to be patient enough to do the 6x6 swatch because I know it's better...but the lazy part of me tends to win out 😂. However I might convert to larger swatches soon as lately (with other projects) I've been encountering size issues! And great tip about the jewelry cord! Thank you!
Manifest was excellent and the ending made the entire commitment worth the wait. The tank is beautiful. I live just across the bridge from the beach (coastal NC) and I love summer knits.
I absolutely loved watching this video! I hope you do more of these project vlogs in the future, it was so fun seeing the process from start to finish❤
Normally I'm not someone who likes to watch other people knit, when it's not a 'how to knit this', but I really enjoyed this one :D Your voice, your process and just over all talk about everything from the yarn, to the pattern etc, was really good and learnable, and having your sister try it on and review it in the end, just made this video perfect
Greetings from Washington State and your newest subscriber! This episode came up in my feed this evening and I really enjoyed it. I love your style and it was fun to see your sister’s tank project from start to finish. I just added that pattern to my future projects list. Looking forward to seeing more of your vlogs 😊
I enjoyed your knitting process...living in the DC/MD/VA area also, can relate to the steamy, humid, hot summers we have. The top is really cute! I'm finishing tee shirt pattern with linen and can't wait to finish!
Loved every minute of this, for all the reasons. You should get a million hits here -- I've been doing a series of tanks like this in all the expected fibers, and currently have my fourth on my lap (black/what a nightmare). You walked through every single wtf I've had to navigate through, and even though I've done the learning curve, this is a video I'll save and re-watch next summer before I launch more. Thank you for the sleek edit, and for all the trouble you took to document the moves. Well done.
I enjoyed this video! I actually have had this tank in my ravelry favorites for a while now. It reminds me so much of the Heya tank which I love and have knit twice in DK (fingering weight pattern and free) but it doesn’t have the icord. I think I’ll be buying this Vegas one now, lol.
I realy wonder, that your gauge matched. I knitted the cinema sweater with a superwashed 100% merino yarn and it grew SO much, that i had to undo the whole sweater. After that i watched a couple of videos abaout gauge swatch and every single one told to do are bigger gauge swatch to REALY see, if the gauge matches. NOW i know, that superwash in general grows a lot, rhe label said 100% SW Merino, so... disnt realize at first. However, im so glad that yours turned out that beautifully and you and your sister, you both are so adorable!
Lovely knitter, just a suggestion, instead of 19x25, 22x28 gives you 3sts at beg and 3 at end for the border. You would definitely get the 19 x 25 and a 4 inch count. Thanks for sharing love your podcasts ❤
Thanks for another nice and interesting episode! How wonderful it must be to have such a nice and close relationship with your sister 🤗 I was just wandering, why don't you run your washed items on a spinning cycle of your washing machine? I always wash by hand, but always run it on spinning cycle. I do that with everything: wool, silk, mohair, literally everything. It saves so much time on drying and even makes the fabric look better! :)
I've always been scared to put my knits through the machine (even on just spin) but I could be convinced to try it! I however find my knits dry quickly regardless!
@@neknits spinning is actually not dangerous, cause the fabric is not being rubbed or agitated, it sticks to the walls of the inside of washing machine. It's hot-cold temperature contrast, wrong kind of soap and rubbing that makes fabric felt. If you feel unsure, you can first try spinning your knit samples. I would highly recommend spinning finished knit items, I can't explain why, but it is really good for the knit fabric, it becomes more airy and fluffy instead of squeezing it with a towel. As I mentioned before, i do that even with mohair and kfo silk 👌😀
Just ordered coconuts leather (barber cord) with 2 nickel plated needles that screw on to the leather Cords stitch holder. Will see how they hold up. Barber cords are not so reliable. Good video
That was such a fun and educational video and it was so sweet to see your sister come on at the end. You did a beautiful job on the top. Thanks for sharing!
Hi I love this video! I know from your other videos you live in the Boston area, and I was wondering what yarn store you go to since I live in MA and I’ve never seen Sadnes Garn where I live :)
I've seen others pin and others that don't! I like pinning mine so they dry flat but I try not to stretch the fabric too much while pinning. I do pin my final pieces to block as well
This was so enjoyable to watch. I loved seeing your sister wearing it at the end. Super cute ❤
That was very cute to have your sister end the video. Really enjoyed it.
This video was so enjoyable and I loved your sister’s appearance at the end. She looked thrilled ❤

I loved watching you knit left handed! I am always so fascinated when people knit differently from me (right handed picker here)
Always enjoy watching your podcasts ,especially what works & what doesn't work with patterns. ❤
This was so helpful to watch as a new knitter. I loved seeing the blocking, putting stitches on hold, etc. your tank turned out beautiful!
As a visual learner, this video was great to see the progress. Your sister was just the right finish!
Aww super cut inserting your sisters thoughts on the project at the end! :)
I just LOVED this episode! Your lovely sister's reaction says it all! Love the Vegas top!
Wow it looks great on your sister and thank your sister for showing it on…. ❤❤❤
Great video, really enjoyed seeing your sister wear it at the end. ❤️
Great to see your process! A 'behind-the-scenes' look at your project... And how fun to see your sister at the end, wearing her gift from you!
This was great! And soooo glad we got to see your sister in it! You can tell by her grin, she was very pleased.... good job sis!
Thanks for making this video, love seeing the top growing and to follow the progress of it. I need to try the line yarn. Maybe I knit the same for my sister. 😀
I LOVE this podcast/vlog. Doing a beginning to end project was brilliant and so helpful for us knitters. Please do more!
Love the vlog format! I hope you make more videos like this in the future! It's great to see all the details of a project from start to finish, all in one place. And your sister's cameo was so cute

Awesome video ! It was a pleasure to knit watching your knitting process ! 🤩 Also, thank you to your sister for letting us see how it fits her !

Your sister is so cute! Loved her review, and really cool following a project vlog like this ❤
This was such a nice video and it was a perfect ending for the video to actually see the top on its new owner, thanks Amy & Jill! 😊😊
Hello from New Zealand! Great video Amy. I like this format to mix in with your usual offerings. Especially love the clip from your sister - nice touch! Thank you!
Loved this video. So relaxing. I think I’ll make the same for my 23 year old niece for her birthday. Love the icord bins off. ❤

So sweet to see your sister at the end! Appreciate her review ❤
This was a great video to watch. Nice to see how others get their projects together. Also nice to see a fellow lefties. Even though I knit right handed, not left.
Loved seeing this more vlog style content from you, really enjoyable and so sweet that your sister gave her thoughts at the end of the video ☺️☺️
Would love to see more project videos like this because this was so enjoyable!!

Great video! It was nice to see how well the tank fit both you and your sister
I ....just...saw this in my ravelry favs! And considered casting on for my upcoming vacation. Thanks!
Barber cord - I have been attaching mine to a bamboo double pointed needle, then threading that through my stitches, and it has been working well.
What a fun video! Loved seeing your process on the decisions you made. Your sister is just the cutest!

I really enjoyed this video seeing start to finish of a project. It turned out great. I love it. 🧶
Love the vlog style video! Also, your sister is adorable. She seemed really happy with the top! 😊

I really enjoyed this segment. Different from the other ones you shared. Hope to see more of the same. 😊 Thanks!
This was so much fun to watch! I feel inspired to make a similar video on my experience making the Kuutar top - let’s see! ❤
such a cute knit and project! loved to follow the whole process!
This was so fun! I might need to make this top...
Just found your channel and I’m enjoying every video so very much ❤ Thanks for putting up with the effort of filming and editing this vlog!
Loved this episode, I also enjoyed Manifest. Your sister looks so cute in the tank. She’s knit worthy ❤
Love this video! Really enjoyed seeing the process all the way through.
This top is so cute!! I'm also making something for my younger sister too. Im making a crochet shrug, the ones you see on Pinterest
I really enjoyed this video. The tank top is so cute 🥰
Omg what an episode ❤ ........love it a lot, and editing is so crisp 👌

It was a cute top but this was a super informative video. Great job.
Great video! Thank you so much for the detailed documenting of the switching process.
Great job on the tank top!
Yesss the cameo!!
Your sister is so sweet ❤

Loved this episode so much! Thank you, Amy
That was such a fun and educational video and it was so sweet to see your sister come on at the end. You did a beautiful job on the top. Thanks for sharing!
I don't mess with that barber cord. I just put my stitches on another circular until I need the piece again.
Great video - thanks for sharing. :)
It so cool that you can show your scrolling on the screen while podcasting! What app is that!!!
I love the vlog❤
I screen recorded my phone while I was looking at it and pasted it into the video!
petite knit has stitch holders for like $3 USD! they work great
What a great video!! Both of you girls are just lovely!! P.S. I bought the pattern :)
Nice work!
Love your sharing!
Great video
The cutest!
Hi I love this video! I know from your other videos you live in the Boston area, and I was wondering what yarn store you go to since I live in MA and I’ve never seen Sadnes Garn where I live :)
Another Yarn in Burlington carries it! They do sell online and ship so if you're not nearby you can check out their website. www.anotheryarn.com/
My couch looks worse than that 😂 i have a purse-Like thing with all the stuff in it, that i could need. My husband hates it 😂😂
instead of barber cord buy jewerly cord/rubber tube, it is much cheaper and basically the same thing!
Me too!
Lovely Projekt. ❤
I have a question: I wanna know, wich needles are you using?
Thank you! I used the Knitter's Pride Nova Platina needles
Are you supposed to pin the gauge swatch while blocking? I always thought that shouldn't (especially if I am not going to pin the FO while blocking).
I've seen others pin and others that don't! I like pinning mine so they dry flat but I try not to stretch the fabric too much while pinning. I do pin my final pieces to block as well
@@neknitsThanks!
❤ love this!!!!
Omgeee, love this video. Are you from Rensselaer? I was born in Albany NY but raised and went to school in East Greenbush
Thank you! I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic institute for my undergrad degree!
@@neknits good for you. RPI is a great school. My brother graduated from there many moons ago!
I just wanted to see what happens on 14 min ! :(
