Ever since my mother-in-law, Daphne, relocated, her new place has been a whirlwind of renovations. The kitchen took center stage, and now it's nearly complete! Daphne envisioned a modern yet feminine kitchen with a hint of vintage charm. After some searching, we stumbled upon a breathtaking antique twin bed frame with intricate detailing on the top. Waste not, want not-every inch of that frame became the material for crafting a stunning diy hood vent cover. The result? Absolutely breathtaking! Let me know what you think in the comment section!

Daphne is a lucky Mom-in-Law and certainly also a creative force. She is lucky to have you in her life. This is so beautiful it took my breath away. This project and the reading nook you did for your Mom are two of my favorites. “Can-do” people are the best!
My first thought was "a mother-in-law" asked for this outrageous project? It's so nice to see such a wonderful family and Danie you are very special and lovely. But this is so over the top I would never ask anyone to do this for me. That's probably because no one would do it, even if you paid them. Amazing!

I have to admit it broke my heart when you took apart the headboard but I'm ok now because that is so pretty.
oooh, Danie, I haven't even watched the video yet, and I'm so excited! so I have my childhood antique bedroom set that has lived it's last life. So, I am converting (well, I WANT to convert) the dresser into an enclosed litter box cabinet by using the drawer fronts as the front cabinet doors. Think: Trompe L'oeil. The front will still LOOK like it has two drawers, but they will open like a cabinet for removing and cleaning two full-sized litter boxes. Now the dresser has a 'secret bottom drawer' which I will fully line and protect, which will hold the boxes and contain litter spill over etc. On one side of the dresser, I'll use my handy-dandy (and by me, I mean my son) jig saw to cut out a cat door for not only MY little lady (who hates me btw), but the THREE gentlemen I just adopted from my mother who is unable to care for any more. (Anyone in South Texas want a super great, well loved cat who mama just reached Stage 4 Altz and just can't anymore?)
Anywhoo.... The footboard... Already in my Kitchen! I used the top of the footboard as a shelf behind the kitchen sink! But seeing this project. And the fact my entire kitchen is freestanding, turn-of-the-previous-century-inspired-Victorian inspired? You BETCHA the headboard is going to be a venthood!

For me, it’s kind of clashing with the modern cabinets, but maybe it will blend after the curtains and decor choices. Hope we get a final reveal.
Yeah, it's kind of disjointed to me. I will hold off rating this until the backslash and countertops are completed. Right now, I don't see it being cohesive with the flooring, or anything else in the room. Let's see what happens.

This is the most Beautiful and fun vent hood I have EVER seen. YES, I would want one of those in my house!!!! Please come do one for me! Lol. The character it adds to the house is incredible. Like it just changed that house to a home. Now, someone with great taste and a love of antiques lives there! I was shocked at how much character it truly added. Your mom in law must be SO proud of you. And SO happy to have YOU as her daughter in law!!!!

The idea is good in a kitchen whose theme or style coordinates with the hood cover. Otherwise, it's just an eyesore, especially in the modern style that is dominant in your kitchen.
