$270 to change oil filter and engine oil at the mechanic. Did it myself $70 following your youtube video. Drove to mechanic shop and I told him I didn't myself for $70 i was cocky and pretty proud of myself and the mechanic gave me a wave with the middle finger. Cheers mate..
Yea well you can get to the oil filter by removing the air box. yea i know you still have to drain the oil but if the car is not lowered you do not need to put it on stands or rase it. Always check that the old rubber seal on the filter has come off with the filter as sometimes they stick to the block. If you do not notice it will leak oil when you put the new filter on. Also filters are only ever to be hand tight when put on. Never use the filter remover to over tighten them.
Great video as always. That product was a steal the other week on sale, not sure which retailer it was. I got a used 05 Falcon futura (barra 182, 4speed auto) started @ 159,00km felt fairly neglected so I'm trying to reduce sludge, tried Penrite hpr 5w40 and now shell helix ultra 5w30, can't really tell the difference but I think shell has better cleaning.
Is the sludge getting removed from the engine? Or is there an addictive you can buy? We have a BF Fairmont in my family and we use Castrol 5w-30 Full Syn on that car, however it has always had regular oil changes. Thanks for the feedback.
@@modaufygarage I believe so. Generally speaking excessive sludge should only really be occurring if you miss the service interval or use some really garbage oil. I also use the oil flushes that are available and follow the instructions on running time, I'll have to open the rocker cover and see if its somewhat clean when I need to replace the gasket there.

I’m happy to hear my video helped and saved money at the same time! Thanks for watching
Thanks, I did not realize that I could put a cabin filter in where the mesh filter is, something else to buy now.
I think Ford should have put filters in all cars.
Good stuff mate, looking forward to seeing more!

I never thought about getting access to the filter by removing the airbox. I always like to give the oil filter a quarter turn just to make sure.
Cool tunes 😎
