    I keep my hair in a protective style with braids. I keep the braids in for a month or two. During that time I like to wash my hair to make sure my scalp is clean to encourage hair growth. I used this shampoo the other day with your product (the shakaki powder) and my scalp feels so clean. Love it. I used this same recipe.

    Only shampoo I use other than your soapnut bar! I make a batch every other month, but I never thought to add amla. It really cleanses my scalp! Thanks for such great products! 👍🏼

    This is the exact information I wanted to know! If only I knew before I placed my order! I'm going to try your rhassoul clay as a no poo cleanser this time, and I'll try the shakaki/amla next time. I'm so glad to have found your products and have been loving them! Such great quality! Thank you!

    • @justKKB

      @@SignedByKimberley you can use either! For rhassoul clay I usually just add in aloe Vera juice and some shikakai powder (about 1 tbsp ish--i don't measure it). You can use water instead or hibiscus or green tea...but I most often use aloe Vera juice or a tea. Mix and apply to your hair. Leave for about 20-30 mins and rinse out!

    I washed my 24” hair length and scalp with the 50-50 amla and shikakai powders as
    explained. I used 36g of each powder. I was in a rush so I could only let it sit for
    five minutes however I am amazed
    at the results. My hair is soft,
    conditioned and was actually easy
    to comb through when dry! I didn't
    use anything else. Next time I
    would like to leave it on for at least
    15 minutes and add 2 teaspoons of aloe vera powder.
    My scalp is clean too I simply
    massaged it a little bit with all the
    mud! I didn't put it in the squeeze
    bottle instead I just kept it in the
    bowl and applied with my wooden
    spoon and hands.

    I started using Henna Sooq products a couple of months ago and I am hooked! I’m excited to try this recipe once I order some shikakai. I have questions related to cleansing: what are your thoughts on cleansing the hair with baking soda followed by an apple cider vinegar rinse on hair that has been colored with henna? Are there any potential negative effects to my hair color if I wash with baking soda and apple cider vinegar? To clarify, I do not mean using these items immediately after coloring with henna. But that leads me to another question, how soon do you recommend wash day after coloring hair with henna? How soon is too soon?

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. We’ve heard that baking soda can remove color. Usually let the color settle 4-5 days first.

    I have been using this combination for almost 2 years, but I make a tea out of 1 spoon each of powder with ~300 ml water, boil them for a few minutes, then strain it clear.
    Is this a wrong way of doing it ? Am I wasting it ?
    If you have any kind of advice on that, I appreciate it.
    I use it for every wash, not just from time to time.

      I think you’re fine if you feel like it works. I’ve seen other videos where they make a similar mixture into a “tea”, like what your doing, instead of maintaining it as a clay/mask. I’m actually going to make this into a tea so it doesn’t clog my drains. 🙂

    Have you ever used either of these herbs as a dry shampoo?

      Personally no as I really need moisture and slip. I wonder how it would be dry and if they would work....not sure.

      I tried and wouldn't recommend using herb powders as the main ingredient in a dry shampoo. The reason being that even the most finely ground herbs still have relatively large particles compared to starch or clay and can look gritty on the scalp. Also many of them change colour when absorbing oil or moisture and then Your head might look dirtier than before. Most of the active ingredients in herb powders will work better in a water or oil base, so there's not much point wasting these precious herbs in dry shampoo ;)
      Small amount of herb powder (2-10%) can be added to starch based dry shampoo for gentle fragrance, while starch does all the work of absorbing oil and sweat and can be brushed out without leaving obvious residue. Sorry for the long rant, and have fun experimenting :)

    The word is liquid or less viscosity. No such word as liquidy in the English language!

      Thank you for this imperative knowledge. I will say "less viscosity" going forward.

      Eh, "liquidy" might not be official, but it follows the rules of English. We say soapy, chalky, gritty, fishy, smelly, etc. It works. :)

    How many days can the shampoo be stored after making it?

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      this usually 5-7 days in the fridge ideally. So only make enough for that amount of time or per wash. If you want to make more then you have to use a preservative, or freeze the batches and thaw to use as needed.
