They most likely would never give her custody since the boy is destined to become the ruler one day. That’s what I’m guessing. Either way I do feel sorry for her because the way he looks at her is like pure loathing and disgust. She on the other hand looks like she’s always putting a barrier between herself and him. They both look so unhappy and miserable.
She knew where she got into, she is very depressed since the birth from her twins, it’s hard for both of them but again, she knew who he was and his reputation.
I remember seeing video of her crying on their wedding day back then and rumors of her not wanting to marry him. They said she was overwhelmed with happiness but it seems she was definitely upset about marrying him
How was she made to marry him? I'm curious about this. They don't look happy together at all. I'm trying to wrap my head around dating someone who doesn't make me smile, let alone marrying someone like that.
If I were her, I would divorce him, too. He is incredibly arrogant, unfaithful, controlling and selfish. I have always thought he has been very reckless as her husband.

it may not be doomed - it is. He needed someone with whom he could have an heir to the throne. He found an south african swimmer, she produced twins and is deeply unhappy in the Monaco court. This is a disaster waiting to happen. He has Illegitimate Children all over the place, is 65 by now with very young children and she's completely lost it but can't get out of it. What a disaster.

Charlene looks like her spirit has been destroyed, very unhappy.
First of all. Prince Ranier, Catholic monarch that he was, had many affairs during his marriage to Grace Kelly. But then , she was used to it: so did her father. Charlene has a mental health condition: she has gained weight because she is taking medication and good for her for getting treament! She remains a beautiful woman and I have only the highest regard for her in her personal and professional struggles.
I had never heard that Grace Kelly was so abused by Ranier! Terrible!!!
Its true that Rainier was a womanizer and it upset Grace. Albert learned all that at his fathers knee. I think that Charlene had a nervous breakdown and might or might not have been recouperating in South Africa. She has gained weight and my neighbour gained a whack of weight because of lithium (makes you ravenous) so its possible Charlene is on lithium. Also a woman ruining her hair like that is a sign that things are not going well. I know this personally. None of Grace's kids have had good relationships at all. What goes on behind closed doors eh?

This is the only royal wedding I have watched. She was a most unhappy bride.
Monaco has always been in a precarious position. Albert’s father was pressured to marry and produce a male heir. Without one the principality goes back to France. He hit the jackpot with Grace Kelly. She gave him an heir and pulled Monte Carlo up and out of just being a casino town. She gave it class and put a lot of effort in the arts for the country. Unfortunately their children seemed a bit wild and I don’t think Albert was seen as that much of a “catch”. Charlene looked miserable at her wedding and she doesn’t look all that better now. Reiner look devastated after Grace was killed in a car crash, I don’t think he ever got over it. The light seemed to go out of him. Very sad family.
Even when Grace Kelly got married, she looked miserable at her wedding. Life in a gilded cage is certainly not a life I would want to live. Grace Kelly should have stayed in America where she would have had alot more freedom and she could have held onto her film career.

Sorry she knew how he was before she married him. She knew of the news story of his children that he publicly acknowledged right before he became the sovereign prince. I’m sure she’s heard rumors of his lifestyle. She wants to be dressed to the nines and be center stage with him but doesn’t want to accept that before her he definitely had a life. She must have thought that he would renounce his responsibility toward his older children. But now she’s stuck because she can’t take her children. She won’t divorce him. The son is the heir and Prince Albert will not let her separate the children they are twins.

Our Charlene is a decent South African women who is morally to good for all that disgusting behaviours and drama's of the Grimaldi family . The reason she is there and not at home where she wants to be is only because of her children.
Long before she had her children, Charlene CHOSE to live in the palace for about five years with Albert before she then CHOSE to marry him. If she didn't know about what Albert or her life as the Princess of Monaco would be in all this time, then she shouldn't have taken the marriage or the job on.

You're right she chose But then 2weeks before the wedding she got the shocking news of another illegitable baby conceived during that 5yrs she spent in the palace. She new of the 1st and had accepted that fact. This 2nd one was a unforgivable backstab and she wanted out but he had her stopped at the airport. So please.. She wanted out but he has her legally bound. She needs our prayers not more backstabbers.

Princess Grace’s kids were as wild and trashy and kids from a trailer park. Caroline eventually cleaned up her act, but Albert and Stephanie!

Don't refer to this princely family as royal - they are not. The Grimaldis come from a noble family and the princely couple are Serene Highnesses. Same situation in the principality of Liechtenstein, although Sophie, the wife of the regent Prince Alois, is a royal highness in her own right, being a princess in Bavaria - a former small kingdom in Germany. (Bavaria has two royal lines: the one 'in' Bavaria, and one 'of' Bavaria).
Albert's sister Caroline is also a royal highness because of her marriage with Ernst August of Hanover which has not been dissolved. They have a daughter who was raised in Monaco: HRH Princess Alexandra of Hanover.

Why did Charlene marry him at all?
Because she was infatuated by him, being a prince, and his enormous wealth and power, which far outweighed everything else. She was with him for some years before they finally got married, so she must have known what she was getting into. For him it isn't love, but simply fulfilling his duty to be married and produce a heir. She was the right material as she wasn't as sophisticated and worldly as his other liaisons, and easier to manipulate, but I guess when she realised that it was not going to be as she had wished and envisaged, and wanted out, it was too late to call off the wedding, because he certainly was not going to "lose face". I can well imagine that she was forced to go ahead with it i.e. with an ironclad contract and money. It's just a matter of time before it all comes to a head.
