- Hey folks this is the very first Episode of Straight Up Fishing! Thanks for all who have taken time to follow me on TH-cam. I don't take your attention for granted. I'm looking forward to all of the destinations and guests.
Here's 5 special things about Straight Up Fishing you should know.
1. Each Episode will be followed up with a Details segment highlighting how we caught our fish and what was the most important factors in our success or lack of success that day.
2. You'll have links to all of the equipment used. Everything from boats and engines to crank baits and soft plastics will be highlighted.
3. Straight Up Fishing will always be about having fun fishing. Some days will be epic others will be normal days just like you have. The only exaggeration or staging will be me overly excited over every fish caught.
4. We won't always be bass fishing. Just because I like learning unfamiliar things.
5. You never know who's watching. At any moment I may ask a random subscriber to be a part of the show. I see your comments even if I don't always get to reply. The best part about fishing is the people!

Hey B Lat you should come to Moss Lake which is in NC. It’s my home lake and it’s not too far from Gaffney sc. The lake is loaded with spotted bass!

I fish lake hickory in North Carolina. Wich as spots this past weekend was tough. Couldn't find them .I have a John boat no motor just trolling motor. Depth finder not great. How would you approach that. High pressure day sunny water temp was 61. I only caught 3 spinnerbait ,fluke,jerkbait. Could you maybe do a show approaching it that way.

Ive been patiently waiting for these videos to start. Great video and cant wait to see more. I only have one suggestion, fade the music out when you're giving tips and closing out the video. It was hard to understand you all because of the music.

I got a question for you. I primarily use spinning equipment cause I have yet to perfect using a baitcaster without having to often deal with backlashes. What affordable spinning rod/reel setup would you recommend for being best to use with crankbaits, jerkbaits, etc? Stuff you would normally throw on a baitcaster set up
C Kubala....I was in the same position 13 years ago....just go out and take ONLY the baitcaster, trust me, I haven’t looked back since. One thing, since I was SO used to spinning tackle, I got a left hand retrieve and it felt natural... stay thirsty my friend
Michael McCombs yeah that’s a good piece of advise. I think another thing is exactly what you said..it doesn’t feel natural to me cause my baitcaster is right hand retrieve and I’m so used to left. Maybe a good start would be getting a left hand retrieve one.

I'm sorry to say B Lat. But that first fish you caught after you moved was a spotted bass! Both of you thought it was large mouth but you can clearly see the horizontal lines on him in the video! Just saying...
I love all your videos by the way! I live on Lewis smith lake in alabama. If you need someone to show you how to catch gaint spots on smith hit me up! I have over a 100 way points marked with stuff buried on them! Been killing the local wild cat tournaments this year!!!!

Brian Latimer yeah my biggest is 4 and a half but in my tournaments I see 7 pounders weighed in and lots of four pound spots seen a couple of 20 pound bags of just spots on the coosa river lakes

hey man just a suggestion, but your music is a little overpowering when you are talkin. It makes it extremely annoying to listen to, if you quieten it down some I think it would really help out the overall quality
