    Now that Toyota has removed the V6 from the Kluger, does that make the new Pathfinder V6 more or less attractive?

      @jeremyhill3837 ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like it’s kind of irrelevant. If either manufacturer had put a torquey, economical diesel into either, they would have sold many more. A Kluger with the Hilux diesel would sell very well.

      I imagine Toyota feels that the hybrid does the same job, but even cleaner in urban environments.

      @Chasing Cars
      I was told by Toyota new Kluger will have 2.4 ltr petrol turbo engine.
      I prefer v6 any day over hybrid or4 cylinder.
      I think such big cars like kluger and pathfinder need big engines. 10.5 ltr per 100 kms is nothing when you look at the size of the car.
      People who think it drinks a lot should buy a small car VW golf diesel and will get best fuel results such as 5.5 litres per 100 kms.
      You can't have it both ways

    Mate is awesome
    That engine has won best V6 in the wood for 10 years in a row, don't see Toyota in the running. Even the x trail more was best 4cy6 years in a row but no one heard of this because it's not a Toyota, anyhow great review love the car all good in my opinion

    The rear of the Pathfinder looks very Mitsubishi Overlander like, even that infotainment screen.
    I like the way you review cars, and you always bouncing your hands like the Weather Men of the 90s.
    Keep up the good work.

    That price is crazy high. a loaded American pathfinder in America is around 51k. inflation is a bitch in Australia

    Given their similar pricing, how does it compare to any of the Everest V6 models?

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question and a comparison would be relevant. Better ride, but the Everest's diesel V6 is very torquey.

    That can't do what a Toyota anything can do...
    202kw at 6400rpms and 340nm at 4800rpms. Come on Nissan. That's terrible and you would really have to get up it to make it move.

      Numbers aren't everything.
      Nissan V6s are naturally torquey and also like a big rev. If you have driven one you would know.

    • @Studat
      @Studat ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@phillipmarnik I have driven them. I don't want to rev an SUV. look at the Mazda CX9, Better on fuel, torque from 2000rpms.
      That Nissan engine is done and shows Nissan are taking the piss of their buyers.

      @@Studat On one end, naturally aspirated engines are more reliable than turbo engines.
      Hence, there are those who are apprehensive of the Toyota Kluger going from NA V6 to turbo four.

    Looks like a great family truck for an Australian family of 5. My only hesitation is I would love it more with a 6 cylinder diesel.

      A diesel six would be great - but Nissan is working to drop diesel from its cars globally. We had the story: www.chasingcars.com.au/news/car-industry/nissan-to-discontinue-diesel-engines-we-dont-want-to-come-back-to-diesel/

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does make the forthcoming Mazda products with diesel sixes more interesting, of course.

      Awful engine! V6 from the early 2000s. More fuel than its replacement, no real change to outputs.

    It does look good, but build quality and reliability will be the big test for this pathfinder.

      I mean they ditched the CVT gearbox so I guess this new 9 SPD auto will be miles better in reliability but we'll see.

    Not a very realistic 8-seater considering it’s boot size as a 5-seater is only 11 litres more than a Sportage.
