The main reason I agree with your theory is because of Majora's Mask. When Cremia (Malon's countepart) gives Link an hug, the text says that he feels all warm and fuzzy inside and that he "could get used to it". Combined with the fact that Malon is the only potential love interest that is a normal girl (not a sage, and of the same race and social status as Link) and the fact that TP Link lives is a farmer and knows Epona's song, all signs point at Malon.
Not to mention that ingo asked you if you planned to marry malon, and that he is too young to consider something like that. And a shielkah stone mentioned that she dreams of a knight in shining armor to sweep her off her feet. Small *bits* of extra evidence to support it, I do agree that malon is likely the marriage candidate.
@@shanelawrence7438 after the botw memory, I’m actually pretty sure he just got adopted into their family. In botw links sister resembles malon, and his father resembles Malons father. What’s more is that the ranch is also in the game(and was most likely links home) If this was the case it would also explain twilight princess link and it seems to be what Nintendo is aiming for, but my personal head canon is that malon and link get married because link never really gave brother vibes when speaking to Malon(also it would be really awkward)
Thing about Japan is families will adopt a male heir to take over a business and hopes that they would settle down with their daughter to take over the business more legitimately
I always liked this theory. There is a piece of evidence to support Link marrying Malon that you missed though. In the beginning of Majora's Mask, Link already has Epona. This tells us that he most certainly went to speak to Malon again and more than that, he became very good friends with her. There is no way she would have allowed anyone to take Epona other than a trusted friend. Basically, we know for certain that they became close because of Link and Epona being together in the beginning of Majora's Mask.
TP Link just KNOWING Malon's mother's song (Epona's song) pretty much confirms it. But Malon's singing being heard in the Twilight princess hyrule field night theme is basically a hint at her spirit watching over Link, while Hero's Shade Link teaches TP Link sword moves to help him. They both help their descendant in a way.
I love that Malon is Link's true love in the Time Era. It makes the most logical sense and she seems the most humble, charismatic, and beautiful girl in the game. Perfect pair for Link.
in ocarina of time 3D, if you go to lon lon ranch as an adult and go into the barn, then stand in front of malon but face away from her, she WILL look at link's butt. it's hilarious.
There is a graveyard in the Castle in Twilight Princess which description kind of suggests is the Heroe of time grave and the fact that this old heroe is using a shattered armor in his ghost form is very likely he became a knight of the royal family ,kind of like Link from the Breath Wild did,and died in a war or something while protecting the royal family back then. Is true he kind of looks like Stalfos but i really doubt he got lost in the woods since when he went to find NAvi he was just a kid and wastn using that armor or anything plus he got the Ocarina of Time, is not like if he had troubles in the Lost Woods he wouldnt use the Ocarina to get out of the situation. Plus, werent only the adults the ones who became Stalfos if got los in the woods and kids turned into skull kids if got lost in the woods without a fairy?. I kind of feel the ending of Twilight Princess with Link parting from Ordon points out he went to live in Hyrule and very likely he became a knight as well. Why would he be parting with the Heroe tunic if he was just going some time there and not going to live there?
I just want you to know, I really enjoy your videos. 1.)No vulgarity 2.)Nicely paced and edited 3.)A voice that is good on the ear 4.)Topics that are very interesting Keep it up! you have a new subscriber.
Malon definitely seems the most likely wife for Link, like you said Saria's a child (leaving the implications of marrying a kid (even one who probably would be considered an adult chronologically) which means that reproduction might be difficult or impossible for her body, the Gerudo and Sheikah are also out of the equation since Link's descendants don't have either races' traits and a child of a Hyrulian and a Gerudo appears to always be a Gerudo.
I`d like to add Romani and Cremia from Majora's Mask. They may have different names but we all know they are the parallel version of Malon, only split in two. And Cremia gives you one big hug!
Zachary Erickson There was a blog back in the day called infendo and they were known because someone there had inside information on Skyward Sword before it came out. One of the writers had your name.
I've always shipped Link with Malon, because it just makes more sense than him being with someone like Zelda... I think the fact TP Link (a farmboy) being OOT Link's descendant says it all there... Unless there's yet another hair-brained theory that TP Link, or his parents/grandparents/whomever were of royal descent (aka the offspring/descendents of OOT Link and Zelda) and either fled or were sent away from the castle, breaking all ties to the royal family for their protection, (because "destiny" and whatnot), but that, of course, is HIGHLY unlikely. Also, Zelda is the seventh sage, so there's just no way. If Ruto couldn't marry Link as a sage, naturally Zelda can't either. (and princesses ain't got no time for peasants like Link anyway - even if he is the Hero of Time! Kidding, kidding...) Your video pretty much took the words out of my mouth, though the Gerudo theory never occurred to me, because it seems a bit out of the ballpark, but still a very interesting theory nonetheless... Now, going solely off of opinion here: I think the whole "hero hooking-up with the princess" thing is a tired concept; very cliché. You see it in other games (one involving plumbers and mushrooms, hint-hint), movies, television, books, and so-forth... I dunno... But besides all that, I just think Link + Malon make an adorable pair! C'mon she deserves this!
Mercureopheliac perhaps the Royal family had multiple offsprings say a brother and sister maybe just maybe they separate them because they did not want them to fight over who becomes Hyrule's Queen or King. I do like the theory of Malon and Link being related to Twilight's Link best tho.
i also do think the idea of link from Twilight Princess still being a descendant to his Link and Zelda from OoT to be very unlikely, i honestly would not believe it's real.
I accidentally stumbled on your channel today and just spent the past 2 hours learning about Zelda theories I didn't know I cared about. This was probably my favorite vid. Great work!!
I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel by accident. Your videos are not too long, not too short and bring back a lot of nostalgia as well as profound research. Thanks for making these and keep it up! :)
Nice video, some other pieces of evidence that pretty much confirm she is the ancestor of twilight princess link are as follows: -In Majora's mask, Romani openly flirts with Link and cremia hugs him with a special cutscene given to their interaction which. This is interesting because the world of termina is created from skull kid's memories so for Romani, an obvious malon clone, to have feelings so clear for link that even skull kid noticed it is pretty on the nose. -As you mentioned, Twilight princess Link knows Epona's song, there's also the fact that Twilight princess link doesn't know any of the other songs that the hero of time learned. This is a big reason why Malon would be his grandmother because if the hero of time taught twilight princess link epona's song, why didn't he teach him any of the other songs? Twilight princess link has known the song his whole life so I would wager that his mother/grandmother actually sang it as a lullaby just like Malon's mother did for her. -At night, Malon sings in hyrule field in twilight princess. this was a really cool reference because we know that the hero's shade way of helping Twilight princess link was by teaching him powerful moves and nintendo confirmed that he is the hero of time. I believe that since Malon's spirit was also watching over her descendant, singing a song to soothe his soul. It's also supported by the fact that Malon doesn't sing in the other games, especially not a unique tune. I have played 4 swords adventures and the minish cap and I don't remember her singing at all though I could be wrong. -Twilight princess link's ancestors have settled in Ordon village for several generations. The proof of that is Twilight princess Link's home. Some of the homes in Ordon village are carved out trees. Trees can take a very long amount of time to grow irl and I doubt Ordon village would give twilight princess Link such an esteemed home if he was a first generation inhabitant of his family. They had to have settled there for a long time. Also funnily enough, his home is almost just like the hero of time's which would be consistent cause I'm sure the hero of time liked how his home in kokiri forest was.
True! Also, If oot Zelda was the one ending up with Link, TP Link and TP Zelda would be blood relatives, yet there is 0 mention of this and both of them being brunette is hardly evidence.
"It's stated that the Gerudo are looking for boyfriends, but we all know what's really going on." Well first, that made me laugh really hard, but then I realized that they probably just rape the men and kill them, which sounds a lot like the Amazon. Does that mean the Amazons a direct inspiration for the Gerudo tribe, due to their misandrist ways and completely female-run society?
Queen Kirlia ***** This is why I believe Ganondorf is wanting the Castle so much: it's his birthright. Years ago, his mother got with the Prince of Hyrule. Shortly after he was born (5-10 years?), the Prince became the King. Since he was the firstborn child of the King of Hyrule, he should be the next in line for the throne. This is why he never kills Zelda (in Ocarina of Time, or any other game) -- he CAN'T, since they're family
In OoT Link just gets all the girls. As mentioned here, Talon jokes he should marry Malon. Ruto claims they are engaged. Nabber seems to be hitting on Link when they meet. Link and Saria are incredibly close. Zelda of course also seems to come off this way.The only major female character I don't get the impression from is Impa.
You also forgot to mention Epona in TP, it is the exact same breed of Epona in OoT/MM. This is evidence of link and malon ending up being together,Since malon grew up on a farm, she knows how to breed horses, and then they eventually got an identical horse due to genetics. Either that or Epona is just immortal hahahaha.
I have a feeling Malon is Link's great great grandmother, explains why he's a rancher and why he happens to have a horse named Epona and why he knows her song, probably named his horse after his grandma's Epona and maybe learned malon's song from his mother who learned from Malon
foxxy moon My theory about Link in TP is that he is a decendant of Link but not the child of Malon and Link. He seems to be a pretty important guy in Ordon. He's the only one with a horse, he has the biggest house next to the mayor's residence, his ranching abilities are astounding. My theory is that he descends from a long line of horse breeders that came to live in Ordon and that their family grew to great importance because of their abilities. Link is sort of the go to guy for everything in Ordon.
Thank you for your observations. They are logical and unbiased. You provide great insight into the world of Hyrule and it helps me as a writer learn what kinds of connections to make obvious to the reader and which elements of the story are best left unsaid to keep the feeling of mystery. Also, your accent is adorable.
Hey, I have a theory I'd like your opinion. It's about the identity of one of the mysterious characters of Ocarina of Time. Rauru. I think he's the King of Hyrule. We never see the king in OoT, he's just referenced. We do know what Zelda's father looks like in other games though. In SS, Zelda's father is the headmaster Gaepora. Couple that with Rauru supposedly being able to transform into the owl Kaepora Gaebora, plus the similar character designs and you have a connection. Also, the King of the Red Lions also clearly influences Gaepora's design in SS. He is the King of Hyrule in WW. All these things point to Rauru the sage being the King of Hyrule in OoT. One last thing that may or may not be considered evidence, all the sages are royalty/leaders of each tribe. While the Kokiri have no defined leaders, Saria is admired and looked up to by most, including Mido who considers himself the leader. Darunia is the leader of the Gorons, Ruto the princess of the Zora, Impa the only remaining Sheikah and Nabooru, second in command after Ganondorf (who obviously couldn't be a sage). That means the only sage who isn't a leader of some sort would be Rauru. The proximity of the temple of time to Hyrule castle in another indicator, as all temples are close to where the sage lives. What do you think?
In the manga Malon DID have a crush on Link, but then decided to ignore it once she saw how much he cared about Zelda. and at the end of the manga Zelda actually confesses her love to him. Although the games and the manga adptations are not exactly canon to each other so theories can still be made.
manga isn't canon, therefore you cannot connect them to the games in any way. Also, since TP link is a direct descendant of OoT link, OoT link couldn't have married Zelda because if he did, TP link would be royalty
sea strider your talking about if the TP link was a child of link and zelda, it would be royalty, but nothing is said about the kid being kidnapped and not found like tangled. lets face it, the hylian army is about as sound as a used napkin.
linkfan x oh that's what you mean. Well, I feel like there would have been some mention to it, but ok. And it still doesn't change the fact that the manga isn't canon
I’ve been watching this channel quite a bit since I recently discovered it. There are a few things in other videos I very much disagree with, but this one was exceptionally well thought out and I have to say you’ve convinced me of this theory. 👍
I definitely think TP Link descends from Link and Malon. I'm sick of everyone automatically assuming that Link and Zelda always end up together, the only time i've thought they end up together is Skyward Sword. But then i also secretly think that Peach is in love with Bowser so... You forgot to put in the fact that the Hyrule Field night theme on TP oddly uses Malon's n64 voice effect even though the audio capabilities are way better nowadays. It sounds like a worried/sad mother.
littlefurnace ikr? I hate the Mario-Peach crap too, hell any of the "damsels" in distress winding up with their heroes is just...Bleh. LinkXMalon or at least, LinkxSaria, which would carry some major problems, but yeah...
Now to be honest, I believe Link has a strong connection with Zelda, not just because of OoT ending and that beginning of MM. And the many times he saved her in the many versions of himself. But I also believe they never carried on the romance. And Malon is the best for sure, how can someone not love her?
Jonathan Judge The thing is that there is no proof that Link is the only one of his bloodline and very few people even in real life can say that. If you and I never had kids, we'd still have other family members with our blood who would have kids that would be our bloodline descendants. Be it siblings, cousins or distant relatives. Plus, we know nothing of Link's father who could have still been alive or even fathered other kids who by being Link's siblings would have his blood and have kids that would officially be bloodline descendants of Link. Has mom could have even had other kids that were of adult age by the time she handed over Link to the Kokiri. Descendants means sharing familial blood, it doesn't mean they have to come directly from you due to having kids unless you were the original member of a bloodline, something which hasn't been a thing for many millenium in our world .
Did You Know Gaming translated an interview not to long ago from a Japanese gaming magazine celebrating it’s launch, where it was stated that all Gerudo children are born pure Gerudo Daughters besides the one male every 100 years. So Mallon being a Hylian doesn’t really line up
Yesss- I remember as a kid playing this how I thought and hoped that Malon and Link ended up together- she was literally right behind the green haired girl. I will say I enjoyed the theory but you closed out rather fast and there wasn't any recap.
This is one of the theories VortexxyGaming made I often watch. I like that she let little hints of her sense of humor show in this video in her narration.
Me too, in fact watching this video and playing around with OoT mask reactions coincided with when I first started playing MM… with the mask reactions fresh in my memory I saw the resemblance in Madame Aroma immediately and went to work on a theory about it shortly afterwards which eventually turned into the two videos on my channel ☺️
I enjoy looking into all these theories about the LoZ universe. The always makes me want to go back and replay the games too. Haha. As a youngster I always liked Malon more than Zelda in OoT. I also enjoyed seeing her sprites' return in MM, and the side story they created for those sprites' characters. The nostalgic memories. :')... Oh and nice video btw ^^
2:00 is ironically funny considering the relationship between Link and Mipha, who is a Zora, in BOTW, in addition to the fact there was a confirmed Hylian/Zora relationship among some of the NPCs.
Yeah, Link/Mipha definitely had some Link/Ruto inspiration (from a meta perspective) 😂 I guess with tens of millenia of evolution the two races could have become more reproductively compatible, or just simply spent more time together for more romantic connections to form
The sages actually aren't sages on the child timeline, because the original ones never died. Therefore, they aren't needed, and Link could marry any one. However, because Link is sent way back, he's probably never met these characters, or at least, they've never met him.
Amber Dawn The Ancient Sages as they are called (before they are replaced by saria, darunia, etc) are characters in past games that serve the same purpose. Rauru is the only one who is left in Ocarina of Time. IIRC, one of the gossip stones in oot says that Princess Zelda is tutored by ancient sages. The Ancient Sages are seen in spectacular fashion in Twilight Princess and are there because they didn't need to be replaced on the child time line.
skmongol It's still theorized that the sages in TP are the same ones as in OOT, considering that the sages *could* still die and hypothetically, with Ganondorf's shenaningans in TP(the storyline implying that the adult timeline happened in the child timeline either way, with Ganondorf attacking Hyrule, just not in the same way as OOT shows him doing, as you stop him and seal him away in a prison via child timeline after returning). So, in short, the new sages probably would've taken over.
Not possible because the sages in OOT were awoken on the Adult Time line and not the Child time line. Twilight Princess takes place after Majora's Mask on the child time line - the time line where the events of OOT never happened and there were no sages awoken by Link. Link from OOT never drew the master sword on the child time line and Ganondorf was imprisoned and then sent to the twilight realm before coming back. The sages in TP are the same sages who sent Ganondorf to the twilight realm.
Also another thing, the Hero's Shade exclaims that he could not pass down his sword teachings. Since we know he was at the very least a soldier that makes no sense as he would likely teach others his combat skills. This is obviously referring to his children not being warriors, and what is Link in Twilight Princess? A farmer. Another big point is Epona's song, Malon knew it because her mother taught it to her, meaning it's passed down in the family; so the only way Link could know it is by his family. There are some speculations on how this isn't the case, for example Link could have very well learned it from someone at Ordon Ranch; however this cannot be true. As in OOT only Malon and possibly her father knew it, we know the present ranchhand/future owner did not learn it because he could not break Epona. Also we don't hear that song at Ordon Ranch or anyone mentioning it meaning only Link knows it. We also know that Link's actions as an adult are forgotten, meaning he's not hero and will likely end up with a normal girl instead of marrying or becoming royalty. Also it's likely that a new Temple of Time was built but forgotten about for a good reason, as Zelda knew Ganondorf used it to take over Hyrule, it is also likely Lon Lon Ranch was destroyed when Ganondorf went on a short lived rampage before being executed.
I always believed that Malon and link got together. I think after majors mask link go's back to hyruel and marrys Malon. making the Twilight Princess link. then he dies in battle becoming the wolf spirit sword training ghost.
I find it likely that it was actually ocarina of time Link 2 (the link who claimed the master sword after Gannondorf was captured) who married Malon and had a Kid who was a link who took part in a game I designed which is what happens in Hyrule during Majora's Mask. Then his Kid was the Link from Twilight Princess.
Nintendo should create a new Zelda game that takes place before TP but after Majora's mask that shows us a new adventure with Ocarina Of Time Link as an adult in his 20s or 30s during the gerudo-hylian war with the last level or boss being beaten by him sacrificing himself and then becoming the hero's shade along with obtaining the same armor, shield, and losing an eye or something that he obtained during the quest. Then if TP Link is truly descended from Malon and OOT Link, they could show us a side quest where Link courts Malon, and Malon beginning to actually express romantic interest in him similar to how Ruto did in OOT. Then maybe shortly before Link sacrifices himself, he could have gotten Malon preggers but never gets to meet his offspring (to his regret) due to his sacrifice. Then Malon hands down knowledge of Link and Epona (horse lifespan is 25-30 years so it works out) to her child/grandchildren and so on leading up to TP. Then the question to this theory can be laid to rest once and for all. Or at least if it's not Malon, show us who and what actually happened to OOT link and how he got his descendant(s), or how the "bloodline" connection works between the hero's shade and TP Link.
+Martmi29 And if the war is actually a long time, it can start as a "child Link" quest at the onset of the war, and end as an "adult Link" quest at the end of the war or before the end of the war. Like, come on Nintendo? OOT Link in the child timeline has no more adventures after Termina? That's it?
+Martmi29 Yes! And make sure Link finds Navi, it's a happy "ending" for me :) But of course, to keep fans from going crazy over nothing, have her not interrupt and remove the "Hey, Listen."
One theory that I have for another reason why Link can't end up with Zelda is that they are actually twin siblings (or, just siblings). My reasons for this theory are that: 1) They are both Hylians 2) They both have the same colorings which no other Hylian in the game seems to share 3) They are the same age (or at least that's what I read in a gaming book, that's why I think they're twins) 4) Zelda's father is mentioned, but never her mother 5) Link's mother is mentioned, but never his father 6) The Deku tree has referred to both of them with similar titles: "The Princess of Destiny" and "A Child of Destiny." 7) When Link first introduces himself to Zelda, she says his name sounds familiar (if they are not twins, Zelda could still be his older sister, which would explain why his name seems familiar as though she distantly remembers the sibling she lost 9 or 10 years ago, plus when they first meet Zelda appears to be taller, and that's either because she's wearing heels or she's just older) 8) That one spinning couple in the Market tell each other how good-looking they are in comparison to the King and Princess Zelda, who are both (supposedly, in the king's case as he is never seen) seemingly renown for their own good looks; and once Link grows up, he is told quite a lot how handsome he is (this is a bit of a superficial reason, but hey, I still think its a contributing factor, haha) Your own theory about the Forest Temple would coincide with this; if the temple was at first meant to be a stronghold for protection, surely the king would have sent his wife and children (and Impa, the nanny) there to keep them safe. And once the place was overrun, Impa and the queen could have easily been separated by all the chaos, each carrying a different child (Impa carrying Zelda while the queen had Link). Also, in regards to the theory of Malon being a Gerudo, I've actually wondered if Nabooru was her mother, because she has the exact same reaction to the Gerudo mask as Talon does ("Hey, that looks like me! ...No, on second thought, it doesn't."). Of course, there's also the fact that Talon also reacts the same way to the Goron mask, which suggests that Malon's mother was overweight... *orrrr* Talon was referring to the Goron's skin color, which actually is pretty similar to a Gerudo's skin color. But, whatever, haha.
If they were separated as babies, there's no way she can remember Link. Babies don't store memories yet. Other than that I think it's possible but unlikely. Since Link and Zelda are often treated as.romantic interests, it'd be a bit weird.
***** Well that's why I mentioned the possibility that she might be Link's older sister, which means she could be a year or two older than he is; and Link could have been one to two years old when he was left to the Deku Tree; meaning Zelda could have been two to four years old at the time, and therefore could have distant memories of her little brother. Course that's only if she's his older sister; if she is indeed his twin, then her feeling familiar with his name could be a reference to all the time-traveling he's done on her behalf. Also, I've never really gotten much of an impression that Link and Zelda were treated as romantic interests - at least not in Ocarina of Time. Hence why I don't think its so unlikely (plus, weren't Luke and Leia revealed to be twins long after they shared a kiss? ;) Haha) - but again, its only a theory.
It's a good theory :) I can't think of any reasons why it's not possible that they're related. Their relationship is a lot like the one in TP; destiny brought them together but there's not much else going on between them, unlike SS or MC.
***** Thanks. :) But yeah. Plus, I much prefer Link getting paired off with Malon anyway. I think Malon is cuter, and better suited to give Link the life he'd prefer after all his adventures; plus she didn't put him through all the garbage that Zelda did (if you think about it, Ganondorf never would have been able to get inside the Sacred Realm even if he did get all 3 jewels because he wouldn't have been able to remove the Master Sword; so therefore, Zelda could have left things alone and Ganon never would have succeeded in his quest for power, etc). But yeah. :)
Kelaiah01 Maybe they're the same age and she simply recognizes his name due to her father reminiscing about it over the years. Surely a King with a son out there would talk to himself about his boy from time to time. But it strikes me as odd that the King would keep Zelda and not Link. Link would be the direct heir to the throne. Plot Twist: Next Zelda game, Link's a spoiled prince and Zelda is the heroine.
I believe that Majoras Mask Link returned to Hyrule after not being able to find Navi and settled down until him and Malon were old enough to get married. Then, they got married and banged then Link left to go look for Navi. However, he never came back as he turned into a Stalfos. So, Malon gave birth to Twilight Princess Link but she died because of something or moved away (I don't know what could have happened to her). However, she lived long enough to teach TP Link Epona's Song and amazing horseback skills. Then, once TP Link grew up, the Hero's Shade, who is MM Link and his father, sought out to teach TP Link, his son, because he was unable to teach him the new moves that he learned while on his search for Navi. HOWS THAT FOR A THEORY?!
I have a theory on Link finding Navi ... or should I say Tatl ... we know that Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule and that's why there are certain characters that are in both games ... in the beginning of MM it says that link was looking for an invaluable friend (Navi) and if you think about it he finds that invaluable friend in Tatl ... basically I am saying that Tatl is Termina's version of Navi
Hylian Knight Y remove that "turned into a stalfos" part, he is a shade, not a stalfos. There's proof in the Kakariko graveyard that shows that the hero of time's body was found when he was died, and that he's buried in that graveyard. (he has a grave)The hero's shade is not physical, and doesn't exist in the material plane, that's why the hero of twilight is taken to some mysterious world of light whenever he interacts with his long deceased ancestor. Another thing, Twilight Princess takes place approximately 200 years after OoT, Malon likely lived a long, happy life with the hero of time, and was the great-great-grandmother (probably a few more greats in there) to the hero of twilight. Sorry about my rant, I just had to set the facts straight :P
Good theory but if i remeber right the hero of twighlight is born hundreds of years after the hero of time. But i do think malon settled with the hero of time. Its just that malon is the mother of the hero of twighlight. But i do believe they are the ancestors of the hero of twighlight.
Maybe Malon is the mother or grand mother of The Hero of Twilight, based on the theory that he knew "Eponas Song" without it being taught to him by someone, and by it being passed down through the family It could be possible that the Hero of Twilight could also be related to the Hero of Time as well
I think someone tried to take this video and post it as their own 😭 I tried to tag you but I couldn't 😓 I love your videos and wanna make sure you get full credit for your stuff !
Ugh that bothers me !!! People are so =_= ugh . I'm sorry . You might shrug it off by now but how annoying for someone to try and take credit for your stuff >.
If Malon is a gerudo, it does explain why Link was never able to pass on his swordsmanship skills -- he only had daughters (and feminism wasn't invented in Hyrule yet). You could even explain why Malon has so many hylian traits, (light skin, pointy ears) if you bring in the real life science that explains gerudo biology: Parthenogenesis (more specifically Gynogenesis) Gynogenesis is a thing present in salamanders were an entire species is completely made up of female clones. To reproduce, they will mate with other salamanders of a related species. BUT the sperm from the male salamnder never actually enters the egg, it is only used to stimulate the egg to begin the cloning process. This explains, with real life science, why all gerudo look similar and are always female; they're essentially clones. But how does this explain Malon, or Ganondorf for that matter? Well the thing is, in VERY RARE cases, the sperm from the male salamander will actually manage to enter the egg and create offspring! Once the sperm enters the egg, there is a 50/50 chance of the child being either male or female. This means that Malon, just like Ganondorf, would be that 1 in 10 000 freak accident where gerudo reproduction becomes sexual rather than assexual. Except Malon was female, and Ganondorf was male. Because of this she would be able to recieve traits from her father, and might no longer be considered a full blooded gerudo. This might also mean that the gerudo blood would get weaker, and Gynogenesis would not occur as often anymore. Or it might even be a necesary mechanism that strenghtens the gerudo DNA overall by introducing new material, which is the case IRL. I suppose eventually one of Link's and Malon's female decendants gave birth to a male gerudo, which by definition, stops being a gerudo and will begin a line of normal reproduction if he mates with a hylian female, leading to the TP Link.
Just found a hole in my own theory... If Link was to have children with a gerudo Malon, he wouldn't actually be passing on his DNA... That is unless gynogenesis would become less common for a half blooded gerudo, or if he simply got extremely lucky and another freak accident happened for sexual reproduction to occur.
Couldn't it be possible that instead of Malon's mother being Gerudo, one of her ancient relatives were Gerudo, which would explain her red hair and other similarities between her and the Gerudo.
[zelink is otp but i respect malonxlink. i like them as friends tho, and there's no denying MALON HAS A CRUSH ON LINK, even though it's not proved canon yet but it's obvious. nearly the whole fandom agrees on that.]
I mean, Link from TP is a farm hand, in the neighbouring province to the Faron Province, Ordona, with what I'm going to assume is the direct descendant of Epona from OOT, he's definitely descended from OOT and MM Link and his hair is a little darker (that last one may be a stretch). It was Malon. It has to have been.
I really like the theory that the forest encroached all the way to the temple of time, as I was pretty disappointed when I thought they had simply retconned the location. Still, not everything fits. If the Forest Temple is the site of the old Great Deku Tree, it can't be right next to the Temple of Time. It seems likely that the bridge over Faron Gorge is the bridge between old Hyrule Field and the Kokiri Forest (or the same location at least) but if that's true then Ordon Ranch is not at the same site as Lon Lon ranch. It's pretty plausible that a Malon/Link family would migrate to Link's original homeland during the hylian/gerudo war, though, so it doesn't really hurt the Link/Malon theory too much. It's a lot easier to move a ranch than it is to move an ancient temple, gorge, or giant tree. The bridge and the temple seem to be pretty clear though, and I'd be curious is a run around the area revealed any more clues. Of course some rearrangement would be within the realm of artistic license for Nintendo.
Anders Hoffman Well the Malon/Link thing would work if TP's link, were about 5-6 complete generations into the Mal/Link bloodline. Twilight princess takes place a full 100 years after, and again, if Link and Malon were about 20 and had a child, who then went on to have children of their own that had more children, each at about 18-20, it'd be 100 years also. Nobody is gonna stay in the same location for 100 years straight, hell my family is PROOF of that too. It would be quite unrealistic, would limit the game and map, plus many more things.
Talon was a charming young bartender who met a Gerudo chick looking for sex. She unexpectedly fell in love with him. Instead of going back to the desert she got a job there as a waitress so she could stay with Talon. She was super hot so guys were always hitting on her. The two of them saved their money and bought a small ranch. The previous owner left with his pockets full of cash and Talon and his girlfriend moved in. Ingo was already working there at this time. The previous owner was actually going to give the ranch to Ingo before Talon bought it. He and his girlfriend got married soon after and worked with Ingo for some time. The two of them had a kid near the end of the civil war and named her Malon. After everything calmed down and after Ganondorf swore fealty to the King, Talon's wife decided to tell her sisters, the other Gerudo, about her new life and about Malon, but when they saw her they captured and executed her for desertion. Talon was never the same after this. His work ethic rapidly declined and he spent most of his time sleeping with the cuccos. Malon was too young to do manual labour so Talon let her just take care of the horses, and Ingo, who had already been cheated out of what should have been *his* ranch, was forced to take up everyone's slack.
From malon wife i'm agree that explain why Link is a farmer and have Epona from beginning, for a Gerudo i'm not.... other thing its me or the friend of Link, illia, looks like Saria and malon (reincarnation of both?). No one says anything for her, maybe you can say theory of her. Thanks!
I used to like Vortexx before she got all mainstream. You sold out Vortexx.... Just kidding, congrats on the 50,000+ views. Knew you would get more popular eventually. You earned it!
i like this theory, especially since i have always like Malon in OoT, even more than zelda!! haha :p And i like all the evidences you present, forget what the haters say it actually makes a lot of sense. I never even believed link to be dead in MM anyway. That theory is VERY interesting, and it does present some valid points, but at the end, Hyrule historia has declared the shade is the hero of time, so if link had died as a kid, he couldn't have become the shade we know, probably a skull kid. Also, Termina isn't necessarily purgatory, throughout the zelda games, we have come to know that there are other lands besides hyrule, either real or DREAM LANDS. An example would be KOHOLINT ISLAND from links awakening. That was all a dream land. And at the end of the game, link comes back to hyrule. I imagine Termina being a dream land of sorts, just like koholing island, and when link finishes his adventure, he comes back to hyrule, to live his life as a knight and marry malon!!! besides how can anyone not want link and malon to end up together, they're so cute! those farm girls am i right? ps: i enjoy very much your videos i am gonna subscribe, i was wondering if you could someday do a whole video on what happens to the kokiri in the child timeline! that would be cool.
"A dad would never joke about such things unless he thought he was a good match for his daughter" If that was evidence of marriage, I would have been married like three times before I turned 18! lol Honestly, I think the only reason people thinks Malon as a possible love interest in exclusion of Zelda is because this notion that Link can't possibly marry into royalty, which I don't really buy (Saria and Ruto are much easier to rule out, hence why I won't talk about them). The biggest reason people usually come up with is because sometimes the Spirit of the Hero reincarnates into a descendant of one of his incarnations, being TP Link the most well known example. Except that: 1) the bloodline is never established, neither explicitly nor implicitly (even Hyrule Historia mentions it as a possibility, rather than a fact) 2) even then it's not stated as a direct descendant 3) families, even royal ones, can branch like crazy 4) even being of royal heritage doesn't mean you are born in royalty (Tetra, anyone?) Now, don't get wrong, Malon is a lovely character, but I don't see that much evidence of her being a possible wife for Link beyond "she's pretty and (supposedly) attainable". I don't see many romantic undertones with her, nor any meaningful interactions (there aren't many with Zelda either, but still she has more, both in-universe and in the meta game). In any case, Nintendo leaves these things so open to personal interpretation that this could easily be a moot point. Not to mention that most probably we'll see many of the things stated in "Hyrule Historia" be retconned someday.
XanderVJ I did say 'match', not that it would directly lead to a marriage (Talon and shotgun? ;p). TP Link is stated to be a direct descendant though, as things like 'hero of time's blood running in his veins' and descendant/ancestor are repeatedly said in Hyrule Historia, right after the passage that said 'it's theorized'. No other Link is given these bloodline related references. I can't rule out for sure that Link and Zelda are TP Link's ancestors, but I personally find it less likely than Malon and Link. It's after all, only a theory ;)
***** "A GAAAME THEORY! Thanks for watching!" Sorry! Sorry! I couldn't resist. lol I guess that's what this comes down to. Although considering how Nintendo has been playing up Link and Zelda's romance in recent years, that possibility is more and more likely. But again, these things are still open to reinterpretations and/or retcons. Oh, well. The LinkXZelda shipper in me will always think they end up together in every life time. lol In any case, keep going! Your videos are pure awesomeness! ^^
XanderVJ I have a small theory that if every Link and Zelda end up together (like in SS), then their children will always contain a Zelda, but never a Link. The new Link would always be from a different unrelated bloodline, but would contain the spirit of the same Link. This would prevent any..uhhh...brother sister stuff >.>;
***** Yeah, that's the problem you have to face when you mix reincarnation and bloodline. And make no mistake, there are plenty of Eastern myths and even modern stories that deal with that to differente degress. Although they tend to gloss the squicky parts over. lol As for me, I like to think that, yes, Zelda is always a direct descendant, being a princess and all. Link, on the other hand, if it is in the same bloodline (I like to think it's not most of the time), it would be like a really, REALLY distant relative. Like a 6th degree cousin from a long lost branch in the family...or something. lol Also, we have to keep always in mind that, at the end of the day, Zelda games are Japanese games, so we have to take Eastern sensibilities in mind when we try to figure out the thought process in creating them. In Japan, romance between cousins, albeit still weird, is not that big of a stretch. (And I mean for the average Japanese person. If we talk about Otakus...well, that's a whole different show)
I have no idea why I've never thought of any of this before. Every detail makes so much sense, I'd be shocked if the Hero of Twilight WASN'T descended from Malon.
malon cannot be a gerudo... we know a male gerudo only can be born every 100 years. then a child between link and malon (say in 20 years from now) MUST had been a female, and the next one too (because it only passed 30 years from then at largest, being 70-80 years since ganondorf was born), and that one being link from twilight princess makes impossible for the biology of the gerudo cromosomes to work in order to make a male. i support link ending up with malon... but the theory of her being a gerudo is not possible.
Joe Griffin I think it's actually only about 100. That would lead to TP link being somewhere along the lines of 5-6 generations down, assuming Link and Malon got together around 20 and had a kid, then their children and their children's children, all successfully found someone by 18 and had kids of their own.
Is it also possible that the spirit of the hero always reincarnates into a male so there is a good chance that a male can be born when Hyrule faces a potential crisis.
Also, Link isn't actually a resident of Ordon in Twilight princess. You may notice, that he has sharp, pointy ears like a Hylian, while every other person in the village has normal ears, like us. It is likely that Link was weft by his parents, meaning that a hylian had to have been conceived with him. The only candidate is Zelda. Therefore, perhaps Link's parents learned of Link's destiny, and were told to give him to the people of ordon to complete this prophecy.
Zachary Erickson Of course, the children of Link and Malon would have to have elf ears. What i'm trying to say is that the fact that TP Link has elf ears doesn't make him an Hylian, he can be a halfblood (and perhaps the only in the town).
I've always seen the Hylians as elder brothers to the regular Human population but with certain physical and spiritual advantages. For me the Hylians are like the Numenoreans (Dunedain Rangers) in Tolkien's Universe (LotR and Silmarillion). They're superior in many ways to regular humans but they are a few.
There's no reason there could not be a little Gerudo somewhere in her ancestry, though. If the red hair and skill with horses are traits that are dominant, they could easily resurface down the lineage even when it's diluted with mostly Hylian blood.
Note: She also appears in Majora's Mask as both Cremia and Romani. I have something resembling a theory that what could possibly be a reincarnation of her is living in Twilight Princess named Ilia. The marriage theory only works if you consider the adult timeline...
1:31 "Malon is one of the few eligible bachelorettes in Ocarina of Time that does not become a Sage" There were other eligible bachelorettes in OoT that didn't become Sages?
@@kenlamella8996 you can find it more info here ~ youtube.fandom.com/wiki/VortexxyGaming It’s been 5 years today since she disappeared, Rest In Peace 😔💙
What’s more is that the ranch is also in the game(and was most likely links home)
If this was the case it would also explain twilight princess link and it seems to be what Nintendo is aiming for, but my personal head canon is that malon and link get married because link never really gave brother vibes when speaking to Malon(also it would be really awkward)
I was actually randomly thinking about this the other day
"She has Gerudo characters on her shirt, actually no she doesn't"

So who births the Kokori if they are all kids?? The Great Deku Tree 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ lol
@@DannyBZ9 they are born from seeds
TP Link just KNOWING Malon's mother's song (Epona's song) pretty much confirms it. But Malon's singing being heard in the Twilight princess hyrule field night theme is basically a hint at her spirit watching over Link, while Hero's Shade Link teaches TP Link sword moves to help him. They both help their descendant in a way.
This really makes me cry
I love that Malon is Link's true love in the Time Era. It makes the most logical sense and she seems the most humble, charismatic, and beautiful girl in the game. Perfect pair for Link.
in ocarina of time 3D, if you go to lon lon ranch as an adult and go into the barn, then stand in front of malon but face away from her, she WILL look at link's butt. it's hilarious.
Hannah Jones Who wouldn't look at his butt :P?
Dang, wish I still had my 3ds so I could see it for myself
@@teslaford2869 everything you said is right, skull Kids are no Kids with no fairy and stalfos are adults. I agree

I’ve always thought that Malon and Link would make a cute couple
Malon definitely seems the most likely wife for Link, like you said Saria's a child (leaving the implications of marrying a kid (even one who probably would be considered an adult chronologically) which means that reproduction might be difficult or impossible for her body, the Gerudo and Sheikah are also out of the equation since Link's descendants don't have either races' traits and a child of a Hyrulian and a Gerudo appears to always be a Gerudo.
RIP We love you Vortexxy. Even in passing you are in our spirits.

I`d like to add Romani and Cremia from Majora's Mask. They may have different names but we all know they are the parallel version of Malon, only split in two. And Cremia gives you one big hug!
I never knew it was Lon Lon Ranch because MaLON and TaLON. Also RANCH.
Gio 202122 How the fuck did I not realize this?!?
Holy fuck!
Gio 202122 I knew both of their names ended in lon but I still never processed this
First name Malon, last name Ranch
Really makes you wonder why Link didn't stay in Termina to get double teamed by Romani and Cremia.
They really could "MILK" his cow
Zachary Erickson Are you the same Zac Erickson that used to write for infendo?
Zachary Erickson There was a blog back in the day called infendo and they were known because someone there had inside information on Skyward Sword before it came out. One of the writers had your name.
That hug was pretty warm and fuzzy after all.
Ewwwww.....
Kidding, kidding...)
Your video pretty much took the words out of my mouth, though the Gerudo theory never occurred to me, because it seems a bit out of the ballpark, but still a very interesting theory nonetheless...
I've also always shipped link and malon since I played OOT because like you said they're an adorable pair
Great work!!
i ship malon x link like FedEx
I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel by accident. Your videos are not too long, not too short and bring back a lot of nostalgia as well as profound research. Thanks for making these and keep it up! :)
Nice video, some other pieces of evidence that pretty much confirm she is the ancestor of twilight princess link are as follows:
-In Majora's mask, Romani openly flirts with Link and cremia hugs him with a special cutscene given to their interaction which.
"It's stated that the Gerudo are looking for boyfriends, but we all know what's really going on."
Well first, that made me laugh really hard, but then I realized that they probably just rape the men and kill them, which sounds a lot like the Amazon. Does that mean the Amazons a direct inspiration for the Gerudo tribe, due to their misandrist ways and completely female-run society?
Death by snoo snoo...
Queen Kirlia Or they're the hookers of Hyrule
Queen Kirlia i personally believe the Derudo where heavly influanced by Amazons
Queen Kirlia ***** This is why I believe Ganondorf is wanting the Castle so much: it's his birthright.
Years ago, his mother got with the Prince of Hyrule. Shortly after he was born (5-10 years?), the Prince became the King. Since he was the firstborn child of the King of Hyrule, he should be the next in line for the throne.
This is why he never kills Zelda (in Ocarina of Time, or any other game) -- he CAN'T, since they're family
+Charles Lee Spooky theory, but freaking awesome one at the same time.
August Reign yeah they are bloodline decedent's
Also, since TP link is a direct descendant of OoT link, OoT link couldn't have married Zelda because if he did, TP link would be royalty
sea strider just because you are their child doesnt mean you cant get kidnapped and cant be found for a VERY long time. (example: tangled)
linkfan x what?
sea strider your talking about if the TP link was a child of link and zelda, it would be royalty, but nothing is said about the kid being kidnapped and not found like tangled. lets face it, the hylian army is about as sound as a used napkin.
linkfan x oh that's what you mean. Well, I feel like there would have been some mention to it, but ok. And it still doesn't change the fact that the manga isn't canon

Yes. It's a little easter egg that Nintendo put there. :)

Dude link as a kid has epona in majoras mask
I don't think Link's reincarnations are necessarily his biological descendants. Do any of the games say that they are?
Only in the case of Twilight Princess Link, as stated in Hyrule Historia. Every other Link so far is only confirmed to be related through spirit.
***** Didn't Winder Waker later in game confirm that the Link in the game is actually descended from OoT Link?
If he is then OoT Link had sex before the game ended, or the official timeline is wrong.
Descendants means sharing familial blood, it doesn't mean they have to come directly from you due to having kids unless you were the original member of a bloodline, something which hasn't been a thing for many millenium in our world .
xOmniCloudx I see. If OoT Link and TP Link are related, like the Zeldas, I think it makes sense for the other Links to be as well.

Malon can't be a Gerudo because she has long ears like a Hylian, but the Gerudo have short ears., like normal people.
This is my favorite theory, simply because I would like some of it to be true.
I really enjoyed your theory video about Malon.
Nice work.
So her dress says Lon Lon Lon Lon Lon Lon in an endless cycle. Malon confirmed for Roflcopter.
Cameron Reyno Who are the original sages in OoT, then? Did they ever show up in the game?
Amber Dawn The Ancient Sages as they are called (before they are replaced by saria, darunia, etc) are characters in past games that serve the same purpose. Rauru is the only one who is left in Ocarina of Time. IIRC, one of the gossip stones in oot says that Princess Zelda is tutored by ancient sages. The Ancient Sages are seen in spectacular fashion in Twilight Princess and are there because they didn't need to be replaced on the child time line.
What he said.
skmongol It's still theorized that the sages in TP are the same ones as in OOT, considering that the sages *could* still die and hypothetically, with Ganondorf's shenaningans in TP(the storyline implying that the adult timeline happened in the child timeline either way, with Ganondorf attacking Hyrule, just not in the same way as OOT shows him doing, as you stop him and seal him away in a prison via child timeline after returning).
Malon seems like the most obvious answer, so much proof pointing towards it too.
Imo Link and Zelda would be cliche as fuck.
SuperNintendoFanboy
Agreed lol
I always believed that Malon and link got together. I think after majors mask link go's back to hyruel and marrys Malon. making the Twilight Princess link. then he dies in battle becoming the wolf spirit sword training ghost.
I support the first theory since no one else in the game that I can think of can marry link and has that many similarities with TP link
There's only one Ocarina of Time Link.
I know is a video from 2014, but don't stop VortexxyGaming. I love your theories.
youtube.fandom.com/wiki/VortexxyGaming given the choice, I don’t think she would’ve
One theory that I have for another reason why Link can't end up with Zelda is that they are actually twin siblings (or, just siblings). My reasons for this theory are that:
1) They are both Hylians
2) They both have the same colorings which no other Hylian in the game seems to share
3) They are the same age (or at least that's what I read in a gaming book, that's why I think they're twins)
4) Zelda's father is mentioned, but never her mother
5) Link's mother is mentioned, but never his father
6) The Deku tree has referred to both of them with similar titles: "The Princess of Destiny" and "A Child of Destiny."
7) When Link first introduces himself to Zelda, she says his name sounds familiar (if they are not twins, Zelda could still be his older sister, which would explain why his name seems familiar as though she distantly remembers the sibling she lost 9 or 10 years ago, plus when they first meet Zelda appears to be taller, and that's either because she's wearing heels or she's just older)
8) That one spinning couple in the Market tell each other how good-looking they are in comparison to the King and Princess Zelda, who are both (supposedly, in the king's case as he is never seen) seemingly renown for their own good looks; and once Link grows up, he is told quite a lot how handsome he is (this is a bit of a superficial reason, but hey, I still think its a contributing factor, haha)
Your own theory about the Forest Temple would coincide with this; if the temple was at first meant to be a stronghold for protection, surely the king would have sent his wife and children (and Impa, the nanny) there to keep them safe.
Thats what I thought to but not were he goes back to find navi part
Hylian Knight Y The "they got married and banged" killed me xD, but facinating theory very nice
Good theory but if i remeber right the hero of twighlight is born hundreds of years after the hero of time. But i do think malon settled with the hero of time. Its just that malon is the mother of the hero of twighlight. But i do believe they are the ancestors of the hero of twighlight.
I love the Link and Malon idea. specially if it leads to tp link.
Jose Torres It does and I do to.
I know its just a theory, but I can't help but love this!! I really want to believe its canon.
It's actually cannon that Link marries Malon its in one of the epilogue comics
Maybe Malon is the mother or grand mother of The Hero of Twilight, based on the theory that he knew "Eponas Song" without it being taught to him by someone, and by it being passed down through the family It could be possible that the Hero of Twilight could also be related to the Hero of Time as well

If Malon is a gerudo, it does explain why Link was never able to pass on his swordsmanship skills -- he only had daughters (and feminism wasn't invented in Hyrule yet). You could even explain why Malon has so many hylian traits, (light skin, pointy ears) if you bring in the real life science that explains gerudo biology: Parthenogenesis (more specifically Gynogenesis)
Gynogenesis is a thing present in salamanders were an entire species is completely made up of female clones.
Couldn't it be possible that instead of Malon's mother being Gerudo, one of her ancient relatives were Gerudo, which would explain her red hair and other similarities between her and the Gerudo.
i do like the idea of Malon being links wife
[zelink is otp but i respect malonxlink. i like them as friends tho, and there's no denying MALON HAS A CRUSH ON LINK, even though it's not proved canon yet but it's obvious. nearly the whole fandom agrees on that.]
I miss you Vortex.
Rest In Peace Vortexxy 😞💙
I mean, Link from TP is a farm hand, in the neighbouring province to the Faron Province, Ordona, with what I'm going to assume is the direct descendant of Epona from OOT, he's definitely descended from OOT and MM Link and his hair is a little darker (that last one may be a stretch). It was Malon. It has to have been.
Rip vortex the best oot theorizer

Anders Hoffman
Well the Malon/Link thing would work if TP's link, were about 5-6 complete generations into the Mal/Link bloodline.
My God...I believe this is and I want to cry...
The intro its so nostalgic.
From malon wife i'm agree that explain why Link is a farmer and have Epona from beginning, for a Gerudo i'm not.... other thing its me or the friend of Link, illia, looks like Saria and malon (reincarnation of both?). No one says anything for her, maybe you can say theory of her. Thanks!
all your theories make so much sense!!! ;-;
and they have so much feels ;-;

Skull Kizzle I was reading this thinking 'wat' :P
***** I just found this video and I gotta say. Great work
Skull Kizzle. Your name is amazing
i like this theory, especially since i have always like Malon in OoT, even more than zelda!! haha :p
And i like all the evidences you present, forget what the haters say it actually makes a lot of sense.
"A dad would never joke about such things unless he thought he was a good match for his daughter"
If that was evidence of marriage, I would have been married like three times before I turned 18! lol
Honestly, I think the only reason people thinks Malon as a possible love interest in exclusion of Zelda is because this notion that Link can't possibly marry into royalty, which I don't really buy (Saria and Ruto are much easier to rule out, hence why I won't talk about them).
The biggest reason people usually come up with is because sometimes the Spirit of the Hero reincarnates into a descendant of one of his incarnations, being TP Link the most well known example. Except that: 1) the bloodline is never established, neither explicitly nor implicitly (even Hyrule Historia mentions it as a possibility, rather than a fact) 2) even then it's not stated as a direct descendant 3) families, even royal ones, can branch like crazy 4) even being of royal heritage doesn't mean you are born in royalty (Tetra, anyone?)
Now, don't get wrong, Malon is a lovely character, but I don't see that much evidence of her being a possible wife for Link beyond "she's pretty and (supposedly) attainable".
Thanks for watching!"
Sorry! Sorry! I couldn't resist. lol
I guess that's what this comes down to. Although considering how Nintendo has been playing up Link and Zelda's romance in recent years, that possibility is more and more likely.
But again, these things are still open to reinterpretations and/or retcons.
Oh, well. The LinkXZelda shipper in me will always think they end up together in every life time. lol
In any case, keep going! Your videos are pure awesomeness! ^^
XanderVJ I have a small theory that if every Link and Zelda end up together (like in SS), then their children will always contain a Zelda, but never a Link. The new Link would always be from a different unrelated bloodline, but would contain the spirit of the same Link. This would prevent any..uhhh...brother sister stuff >.>;
***** Yeah, that's the problem you have to face when you mix reincarnation and bloodline. And make no mistake, there are plenty of Eastern myths and even modern stories that deal with that to differente degress. Although they tend to gloss the squicky parts over. lol
As for me, I like to think that, yes, Zelda is always a direct descendant, being a princess and all. Link, on the other hand, if it is in the same bloodline (I like to think it's not most of the time), it would be like a really, REALLY distant relative. Like a 6th degree cousin from a long lost branch in the family...or something. lol
Also, we have to keep always in mind that, at the end of the day, Zelda games are Japanese games, so we have to take Eastern sensibilities in mind when we try to figure out the thought process in creating them. In Japan, romance between cousins, albeit still weird, is not that big of a stretch. (And I mean for the average Japanese person. If we talk about Otakus...well, that's a whole different show)
*****
No, you not the only one. Other people have notice this, too. :)
I have no idea why I've never thought of any of this before. Every detail makes so much sense, I'd be shocked if the Hero of Twilight WASN'T descended from Malon.
Link is cursed to never be with Zelda.... So best girl M.
oh sorry Ruto is royalty aswell, and she DOES express her love for link in Ocarina of Time
malon cannot be a gerudo...
we know a male gerudo only can be born every 100 years.
then a child between link and malon (say in 20 years from now) MUST had been a female, and the next one too (because it only passed 30 years from then at largest, being 70-80 years since ganondorf was born), and that one being link from twilight princess makes impossible for the biology of the gerudo cromosomes to work in order to make a male.
i support link ending up with malon... but the theory of her being a gerudo is not possible.
+Swift Swalow I don't think she is gerudo wither but twilight princess does take place about 200 years give or take after OoC
Joe Griffin I think it's actually only about 100. That would lead to TP link being somewhere along the lines of 5-6 generations down, assuming Link and Malon got together around 20 and had a kid, then their children and their children's children, all successfully found someone by 18 and had kids of their own.
BotW Link's mother is Gerudo, change my mind.
Is it also possible that the spirit of the hero always reincarnates into a male so there is a good chance that a male can be born when Hyrule faces a potential crisis.
Nicevideos! Ill watch all ur theories :) i suscribed
Possibly, but where's the fun in that?
Yeah, but like I said. Where's the fun in that? You've gotta speculate! :P
Maybe the pointy ears are dominant.
Thanks for this, it's a very good theory! Have a great day!
I don't know if I believe in the Zelda timeline.
Malon and talon are inspired in characters in Link's Awakening
Vortexxy WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
There's no reason there could not be a little Gerudo somewhere in her ancestry, though. If the red hair and skill with horses are traits that are dominant, they could easily resurface down the lineage even when it's diluted with mostly Hylian blood.
In other words, Malon is best girl.
Keep making videos, these are great!
Oh my god... You sound like BMO from adventure time! : D
I hear this so often I should probably start watching the show.
haha, definitely, it's a really good show!
Note: She also appears in Majora's Mask as both Cremia and Romani. I have something resembling a theory that what could possibly be a reincarnation of her is living in Twilight Princess named Ilia.
The marriage theory only works if you consider the adult timeline...
RIP
1:31 "Malon is one of the few eligible bachelorettes in Ocarina of Time that does not become a Sage" There were other eligible bachelorettes in OoT that didn't become Sages?
Just imagine if link married a gerudo and his “son” was ganondorf.
Would link murder his own son?
Since i believe all male gerudo become ganondorf
Now THAT would be an insanely awesome plot!
The Theory seems sound but at the same time the video sounds like it just cuts off?
chris mann Vortexxy had a habit of doing that in old videos... she listened to feedback and fixed that in later content
link never got married
Esmeralda Villamil Not in-game but he had at least to get children in order for the hero of Twilight to exist.
