I’m familiar with what you’re talking about. Scott from msp showed us this similarly in a class when he told us to prep the trigger then press more and more until bang. A lot of people surprised they didn’t meet the wall and there was still more take up. I’m commenting though because my sirt doesn’t have that second sponge you showed it just has a wall and a snap. It’s probably set to like 7 lbs though honestly. While my carry pistol is more like 4 or 4.5 lbs.
In the review of jj ricosa speed shooting class u mentioned that this can help cure shot anticipation because you’re so close to breaking the shot that you’re brain doesn’t have time to anticipate the shot once the trigger is pulled all the way through
With my sirt using the mantis x10 I am constantly shooting left. My scores are average 94% but when I adjust my trigger finger it doesn’t seem to make a difference. If I look at the trace it’s always to the left. So I shot with my other hand as if I was a lefty and my shots seemed to be right. How the heck do I correct this? My trigger is set pretty heavy maybe 7 lbs.
Yes, there are different trigger presses and each have their ideal situations, so to speak. This technique is used a lot at all ranges by those very experienced, i.e. who know their triggers inside and out and can get to a fully prepped trigger just as fast and as naturally as a novice shooter can get to the 'first wall.'
This is great info. I can't wait until I'm done w work today to check this out.

There’s the slack and there’s breaking through the sponge a.k.a. the gray area! Good video
Good stuff.
Thanks!
Great for 20 yards or more when you have the time to do this. I know we’re talking microseconds, but it still takes a little more time.

I hit her wall and go yet deeper. She loves it.
