Mattel Needs To Get Their Act Together. A Limited Edition Doll Should Never Have Wonk Eye In My Opinion. The Edition Size Is Small Enough For Quality Control To Keep This Doll Wonk Eye Free For Collectors. This Doll Is Not Mass Produced & The Brands Profit Has Skyrocketed Globally Since The Release Of The Barbie Movie. There Is No Excuse For Better Efforts In Quality Control Of A Collector Doll, Otherwise The Doll Is Gorgeous & Thank You Edmond For Another Amazing Review With Alysa Who Stuns Us As Always.
This PJ caught my eye but I didn't feel immediate affection having not grown up with her, only for her to be gone pronto before I could decide on her for myself LOL. Eye aside she came out quite beautifully.

I’m so conflicted about this doll. She is GORGEOUS and I appreciate whenever Mattel gives us a re-release.
However, I cannot stomach the price on this doll and it’s really upsetting to see dolls that were originally Playline dolls released as “collector” dolls at high price points. There is no reason she shouldn’t have been in the $30 price range. $55 ($65 if one has to buy a membership to get her) is outrageous for a Playline doll. They should be more accessible both in price and in production number/availability. Or, if they insist on making her this expensive, she should be cast in Silkstone and have a better stand. Mattel knows they’re ripping us off and that we know it and they also know they can get away with it.
Not only do I appreciate this doll as an adult collector, but children of today would enjoy playing with reproduction Playline dolls. It would be a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents, and other adults of different generations to share their memories and stories of Barbie from a different time with new generations. Mattel is missing such an opportunity to really help create new lifelong fans and to give their consumers something that other doll brands who don’t have the same legacy cannot provide.
The wonk-eye on your doll is so disappointing and absolutely inexcusable considering the limited production and high price point on this doll. It is not a minor imperfection and you have every right to be dissatisfied with the error. I really hope Mattel is able to replace her for you. The stories of poor customer service from Mattel Creations puts me off from ordering much from there even though I’m a member.
Edit: just finished the video to see Mattel cannot/Will not replace her. That just makes me so frustrated for you and even more hesitant to order from them. Hopefully there will be a second drop of these dolls so you can at least get a better one. I can’t imagine they have already sold through the entire number to be produced, especially considering she’s a member’s only exclusive. She is so beautiful but she also makes me so angry 😂😢

The orginal came with a camera where when you take a picture of her she would move. $50 is way too much money to pay for this doll. Kind of mess up that she has wonk eye.
It's kind of ridiculous to even pass this off as a reproduction. The point of this doll wasn't just the doll in the outfit. The point of this doll was the camera and the stand so the child could pretend it was a fashion photo shoot. They missed the entire point of the original.

Unfortunately even the promo pics of this doll, shows the wonky eye. It’s a defect of the screening I guess.
I am so bummed that she is already sold out. How can you return a wonk eyed doll without a replacement available? C’mon Mattel, step up.

I hate the fact that Mattel chose not to include the accessories that actually made the original doll worth playing with, and was the seling point of this doll: automatic posing movement with the turn of the camera lense. The doll is cute, but it is a cheat and copout not to include everything the original came with. And number two the justification for the price point is not there. That would be like a repro of twirly curls barbie without the twirly curling wand included. Collectors may be okay with the copout, but I am not. That would be like selling Fashion Fair Barbie without the fashion hair pieces to go along with it. Mattel can do better repro wise.

I bought 5 of these dolls (2 for me and 1 & 2 for a friend) out of the 5 dolls only 1 had perfect face paint, all the other dolls have slight- severe wonk eye. It’s ridiculous

The quality looks like one of those fake Barbie’s they sell at the dollar store or Marshall’s. Insane that they charge $50 for this. They’re really abusing collectors 😂
