- The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee have filed their second lawsuit attacking mail-in ballots in Nevada. This time, they’re asking a state court to reject mail-in ballots that arrive by the ballot receipt deadline but lack a postmark - something voters have no control over.

This isn't suppression. This lawsuit actually has merit. If there is no postmark and it is coming in days late who knows when it was mailed? Could have been on Wednesday after some results are seen. Clearly this law needs to change.

Why is DeJoy still Postmaster General? The administration should have sacked him first thing.
A board decides the postmaster general. That group is supposed to be independent of the government and specific to the post office. I believe that this board has been co-opted by bad actors.
He can only be removed by a board of post masters. Three of them are Republicans. That's why.
I'm beginning to wonder about who the people asking that question are? The answer is so easily found!!! It's as if they want to smear President Biden for not doing it. When in realty the answer is President Biden can't because there are still too many Republicans on the USPS board of 9 governors and they decide who their boss is...NOT the president.
That is also my question, after 2020, I think he has questionable ethic, if any at all. And an agenda that does not represent my own.
Postal commission picks the USPS head, administration only gets to pick members on the commission, otherwise W.H. complains holds the same consequences as yours or mine. However congress needs to undo the 2006 GOP / Bush bill that shorts USPS funding by requiring them to over-fund their pension account. The GOP plan then and again under Trump (DeJoy) was designed to financially cripple the agency as a way to force privatization. Under Trump (and still now, your point) a way to slow down the mail and close local offices, thus affecting mail in ballot voting and downgrading general public trust.
Nevada needs to file a counter lawsuit against DeJoy over mail delivery delays.
This shows us the desperation of the republican party. If voting wasn't important white, wealthy, men wouldn't work so hard at suppressing it. Don't just vote, get involved. 🇺🇸 💙

Louis Dejoy was put in place as Postmaster for just this very reason, he has diminished the ability of the postal service to operate at a decent level. 💙

I laugh every time I hear about a lawsuit against mail-in (or absentee) ballots.
Up until DJT was a candidate on the 2016 ballot, he used mail-in or absentee ballots. When he went to cast his vote, at the polling place, with Melania, the pollers had to explain to him how to cast his ballot. Google the video of him voting in 2016.

For myself and my whole family all voted last week with our mail in ballots in Henderson Nevada and I’m so proud to say none of us voted Republican we all voted BLUE across the ballot. And we will be doing the same with the general election

It is frustrating. 83% of Nevada’s population lives in heavily blue Las Vegas and Reno. The 17% that are red and rural insist that Nevada is a red state! I guess math is hard 🙄SMDH

Yes! I'm in total agreement with you. It's absolute incompetence by people who know how important their vote is in America's election and still wait until the last minute to mail their ballot.
I have voted by absentee ballot since 2000. I waited almost until election day because I wanted a chance to read about the candidates and what they stood for. I wanted to be informed. The two weeks leading up to the election a person could learn more. I didn't wait until the last minute.

There are citizens who don't make up their minds until close to election day on who they will vote for.
Some red States do not allow counting mail in votes until voting day. Even though they get a huge amount days before. Some states count as they come in. It's impossible for all the votes to be there that day let alone be counted in one day. Think about who's in charge of the mail system now. De Joy, the guy who pulled thousands of mail boxes out of neighborhoods through out the states. The red states do not have a lot of voting places either.

Don't you know that Google decides where the ads run and channel owners have no say in it. If you click skip ad then the channel gets a reduced amount of money So it is best to mute the speaker on your device till the ad ends and rest satisfaction in knowing they wasted their money. For me personally I play an alternate sound track while the ad plays.

Last election mail in ballots were hindered by Trump’s support of having postal service restructured causing mail delays. Jon Ossoff of Georgia has been pressuring Congress to fix the problem.
The republicans won't want it fixed. Since they are pick and choose which areas to delay the ballots to arrive late. Since they are probably are bar coded and can be tracked.
A question...when do the courts say 'go away to the Trump campaign & the Republicans filing same or similar siuts.

NVSOS advised me when my ballot was mailed out - it took one week. I mailed mine 1 day after I received the ballot via USPS scheduled pick up and the Nevada Sec. of State office notified me when the ballot envelope was received.
A lot of this would be stopped if Biden had replaced Rumps Postmaster like he should have 4 years ago.
Do you know about the USPS board of governors are the only ones who can get rid of DeJoy? Do you know that presidents only get to replace those broad of governors who are cycling out every 7 years. He appointed 3 there are still too many Republicans on the USPS board of governors. If we win the election he will be able to appoint more Democrats on the USPS board of governors then DeJoy will be removed.

Once a person mails a letter, it becomes the property of the recipient. So if your ballot is postmarked on or before election day, technically you have delivered it to the polling place and it is their property.
That is why they accept mail in ballots as long as they have been postmarked on or before Election Day.
We always go into the post office and have the ballots postmarked when we mail them. We do the same thing with payments for bills.

Colorado does 100% mail-in (or drop box) voting. The rule is that the ballot MUST be received by 7pm on election day. If the ballot is received later, no matter the reason, it is not counted. (I don't know about military ballots.)

Perhaps people should bring their ballot to a PO and ask for it to be stamped. I suppose this is not always possible but given the amount of time provided to vote by mail, it could be achieved with planning. Under the circumstances, placing it in a blue mailbox is risky.
