Well, there has been metioning of swords and stuff in the manga and anime. There was a flashback of a medeval battlefeild in gen 5's season of the anime. Also, pokeballs were not the only way to tame a pokemon, as seen in some of the movies and pokemon X&Y. So, pokeballs were just made to make pokemon training more acceable to people who don't have a longsword and net. Your other points still stand though. Great video btw.
They don’t still act like gameboy games the franchise has expanded so much the world and the lore and even the gameplays has expanded so much since the gameboy days

To be honest when you look into the sense of humor of the creators and some of the ideas they had about where the series would go and it had followed through and not become a "for kids" series they probably would have more guns in it.
It is not stupid the plot of PLA is extremely unique seeing how spear pillar got destroyed and tying the lore together and any plot threads from Gen 4 was actually extremely dope Maybe ur just too cynical to enjoy the whimsy and creativity of the franchise
If, for some reason, u don't wanna say Poke-balls over & over again, then call them "orbs" instead, even if it sounds dumb & doesnt really convey what you're talking about easily. Capsules or spheres aren't really short enuf to say on repeat tho.
