Thanks, the big target to tackle is obviously car textures. I've got ratings, I just figured out schedule changing yesterday (video next week maybe?) , and driver/car swaps. I'll keep after it
Is there a massive learning curve to mod the game when you have extremely minimal experience? I've had some experience using Notepad ++ modding the car performance in some F1 games, and have used the Madden database editor to look at values on NASCAR Thunder 2004, but that's literally the extent of it. I would like to be able to mod things myself if possible.
@@TreyvonKentrellCoker It's not too bad of a curve to start, but it's very quickly a series of rabbit holes. Takes a lot of time to really toy around and then once you've narrowed things down and figured out where data is, you have to organize in a way that's easy to change/swap around. You'll see what I mean in my next video on schedule changing.
Hope your dream goal will also be able to replace the placeholders with actual schemes, plus replace fantasy drivers with more cup series drivers and movie drivers.
That is the dream goal mentioned. That's a whole other can of worms though. Replacing compressed and encoded textures with just the raw hex data is a whole big process I don't understand. Also have to find where they live in memory too.
Not sure what you're asking? You need the pnach file to get the cars to swap at all. Unless you mean start a career with them shown up and share the save file (but then you won't get to pick your race settings)
the only problem ive been having is tony raines car not showing up as his actual paint scheme, ive restarted the game numerous times and its always his fantasy car, Dales car shows up as normal
I have 3 things you can try. 1. Try going to Race now, load up a race as Tony Raines, if his car shows up then I think it has a better shot of working in career. 2. Enable cheats after starting up the game. 3. Start the game with these 2 lines commented out (by putting // in front of them) patch=1,EE,1F66C64,extended,00000072 // Driver 172 to 74 (icon) patch=1,EE,1F66C5C,extended,000000F5 // Driver 172 to 74 (paint) Then update the .pnach file to have these 2 lines enabled again, save it, then click reload cheats in the cheat menu. Let me know which if any of those work.

PM me your email and what career settings you'd like and I'll start a career up with what settings you'd like and send you a .memcard file with it. You'll still need the pnach file. Also if you want me to make it so he doesn't retire I can change his birthdate too (I can make it so nobody retires of the cup regulars too if you'd truly like while I'm at it)
I updated the file, it fixes Dale Sr's ratings (I made a mistake) AND it GUARANTEES Tony Raines will work! Please grab the new one. It might even work on an existing career save, though I don't have a way to confirm that.
I haven't found where that data lives yet sadly. I wanted to swap Old Homestead in and also the CORRECT Dover since you cannot complete the trophy room in the game because the night version of Dover is in Career mode by mistake.
PS It should absolutely be possible to change the schedule completely. I know how to change race lengths and some other data, but not the schedule yet.

yes but with the new texture fundings I wouldn't try it by the same method as this.

Do you need the thunder plate in order for the cheat to work?
I don't believe so but haven't tested. It should show the 'fantasy driver' replaced as a cup driver all the time rather than locked behind a plate.
I updated the file to fix Dale Sr's ratings and guarantee Tony Raines shows up in career mode.
