Hello Corin, Without a doubt you are becoming one of my favorite Bonsai channels. I am new to this wonderful hobby and your videos are inspirational. I particularly like your forests plantings. Between you and Herons Bonsai I am on my way to a life long love of small trees in pots. Thanks so much, Mike from NJ USA
Saw a couple of your videos, and your channel became one of my favourites youtube bonsai channels. Very interesting, clear and professional, Congrats from Italy Corin!
You really do have a fantastic selection of trees and group plantings. Thank you so very much for sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience. I'm sure some of it will rub off on me for me to use to my advantage.
A great video to learn how to redesign a forest. Just by changing the planting position and improving the forest. Thank you very much for sharing. Greetings from Spain and until the next video👍😄
Another fantastic video corin , very well spoken and very informative , great nursery, got into the hobby last year and have had 5 trees from you , absolutely loving the hobby , shout out to Paul also 👏👏
Another great video! Thanks Corin! Have you thought of using Arakawa maple for making forests? Your deshojo forest is amazing but the trees have green bark which takes away a bit the feeling of an old forest. I was thinking with Arakawa the bark in the forest will look old and this variety have great autumn color - just an idea but don't get me wrong your forest is already amazing! :)
arakawa has a strange growth habit, if I could find a good batch of them I'd consider it. The deshojo could be sprayed with diluted lime sulphur to whiten the bark if it bothers you. It will go more pale with age. Glad you are enjoying our videos
@@corintomlinson6687 thank you for the tip about lime sulphur do you know the ratio with water? and what do you mean by strange growth habit for the Arakawa?
@@EMATREMA 1 part lime sulphur to 20 parts water used as a winter wash. Arakawa is challenging as it has longer internodes, long leaf petioles and therefore harder to build up ramification.
we worked out how to grow the cuttings of the Deshojo ..they have very small white clear roots coming out ..we tried normal compost but they just went black and rotted ..BUT we used silver sand ( washed ) with ..BABY BIO thinned down. we diped them in a gel then planted. if the cuttings got too cold they died... had to keep them in a warm place till the roots hardened off..got loads of them after that ..turned some into bushes in tubes ..there over 38 years old now..
Hi, I'm new to your channel, it's great to see more uk based items. Maybe I'm watching to much TH-cam but do you use only akadama on all your plantings unlike other poeple who us pumice, lava rock and all sorts of stuff. Many thanks. Keep filming
Another informative video. Keep them coming. Glad I found your channel. We love Deshojo Maples. Hard to find good ones most times. Would love to have a forest of them, like yours. Note you use straight Akadama. For this species or all?
Hi. Thanks for great video. I think it could be a bit longer thoug. Your trees are nice and your skills and artistry are great, so no reason to cut video like this into 15 minutes. Let us enjoy the proces as a whole. I think 30-40 minutes long video of taking care of such lovely bonsai group is of no harm. But thast just suggestion.
Thanks Martin, Im glad you like the video, I have done some longer ones, but I do work quite fast ! I don't like seeing a 10 min job dragged out to a 45min video. Often my repots are shot in real time, so we cant make them last longer
I have really learned a lot from watching your channel. Thank you very much. Just a question, do you now have an even number of trees since you removed one? Sorry, I did not watch till you said 13 trees, so you had 14 to begin with?
I wonder if that akadama is reusable at that point? Or needs to be replaced with fresh. I’m sure the fresh will last longer but I didn’t seem to be broken down too badly.
Corin I know this is a old video But would you please please let me know what the size /dimensions of that lovely pot is as I would like to buy one and I may need to order a pot for next spring
Come on, akadama it will only damage your bonsai. When you will realise that only then you will start understand something about bonsai. Akadama is just burned argile, it's inert, doesn't have a good change between fertilizzant and bonsai, it will ever transform heavy dust at first and after will became a brick suffocating the roots.
Fast becoming one of my favorite channels. Great content and tutorials. Thanks
Both got better looking and filled out a bit had me crying with laughter. Fantastic. Thank you. Xx
This group looks amazing in leaf.
Another cracking video. As you say no one would know you have replaced a dead tree.
Thank you for your time mate. Awesome

Really enjoyed the video Corin, thank you 🌳
Superb content and fabulous forest grouping.
I love to find maple bonsai channels. There´s not to much on youtube.... Maybe, I prefer the new design and the space left in the right.....
Only found and subscribed to you recently but loving your Chanel and seeing your wonderful bonsai, many thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video again. Prefer the after image with that bit more negative space on the right 👍
Yes, so do I, trees and people evolve over 15 years !
Another great video guy's keep em coming!!
Love your videos mate, keep em coming
Same here as Matt, great content! Love the deciduous overload ;)
Just been reading bills blog , didn't realise you was an apprentice of his 👍
Thanks Corin for the Education on building and Caring of the The Forest. Can you show us how to bend a large Trunk Bonsai tree to add shape?

Hi Paul, I grow all my Acers in neat Akadama, no need to add anything else.

Beautiful 😍

Wow
Love these vids ! What’s your favourite species if tree corin?
might be Acer - have you guessed ?!
Yeah I like maple too but what about none evergreen do you have a favourite evergreen?
What do you do with the used soil. Can it be composted and used again?
Corin.did you do anything to stabilize the tree you moved? I would be concerned with the wind once in leaf.
went into greenhouse to keep it out of the wind
Repotting using Akadama sir?
Corin I know this is a old video But would you please please let me know what the size /dimensions of that lovely pot is as I would like to buy one and I may need to order a pot for next spring
It’s about 80cm but if you are ordering you can order the size you need
thank you so much for the reply. see you soon @@greenwoodbonsaistudio
How old are the trees?
why did you style it off centered, more on the left side?
To make an asymmetrical arrangement. Other wise it can look too static and less natural
You videos are great.
You could benefit with a mic though. Hard to hear you.
That was an early vid. Later ones should be clearer as we use a directional mic now
th-cam.com/video/KEl_aC0K3Xo/w-d-xo.html knew that was coming and still chuckled.

Been growing my bonsai in akadama for 30 years. Amazing growth and roots.
