Because of John Bobo’s dauntless courage and bravery, his men lived to fight another day. As noted in his Medal of Honor citation, his bold initiative reflected the highest traditions of the Marine Corps.

I used to be a soldier like you, but then I took a mortar to the knee.
For future reference, many Marines will fight you for calling them “soldier”. That term is reserved for the Army. :-)
@@CastleBravo023 ah ok
Soldier for army, sailor for navy, airmen for air force, marine for marines
@@rienezukana alright gotcha
@@rienezukana But why is it that way? I mean, they are all soldiers aren't they? They are all serving their country in its military but in different branches of its military. And isn't the definition of a soldier someone who serves in the military of their/ another one's country regardless of what branch of they serve in? I get it that those in the Marine Corps refer to themselves as Marines and those in the Air Force as airmen etc. etc. But when you talk about the military as a whole, aren't they all soldiers or am I missing something here?
I like the way the animation is very historically accurate. Even though it is the M-16 rifle that most people associate with the Vietnam War the animated U.S. Marines in this video are carrying M-14 rifles. Now that's attention to detail. This video is set early on in the Vietnam War and therefore prior to M-16 rifles. 👍
