It's them feeling awkward and uncomfortable around people and using that to dissolve tension.

As an INFJ myself, i tend to laugh amidst intense situations. I rhink it is a coping strategy used to diffuse tension within ourselves and for others in our environment. Sometimes I laugh during awkward silence as well

I think INFPs do this too, especially when they're talking about uncomfortable subject matter. They will say something a little too authentic and maybe overshare something dark, but laugh a little bit to show that it's all good.

I wonder if the reason some of them do this is to diffuse the tension a bit? It seems like it could have the potential to lead to a bit of awkward conversation had they not laughed at the themselves and the situation, thus making things less awkward for the other person which seems like Fe to me.

Yes I do that alot to diffuse tension too, maybe cuz its a topic that I don't speak openly about and I am concerned that if it gets too serious people might take it the wrong way

@@Banayaga I can understand that, people have taken what I've said the wrong way more times that I can count, and I've experienced it happening with other people too. It seems like a lot of people who take things so seriously look at people through a negative light.
High Fe types seem to have it hard online, I'm not sure about irl but two of my online friends, an ENFJ and an ISFJ told me about how they were accused of being manipulative and fake just because they were being nice, and now they're a bit more reserved, and that sucks. We need more nice people in this world.
Sorry for getting all serious, what's your favorite breed of goat?

I’m literally swimming through the layers of irony required to speak honestly. We’re all hypocrites and fall short of perfection. Irony is funny. It’s all I think about

My face is very expressive and something I don’t relate with to the infjs showed here are how still their faces are, apart from some micro expressions it seems the main thing moving is their mouth while speaking. I wonder if this is more of a nurture thing rather than the nature of any given infj. I’m always insecure of how much my face moves when I see how still other people’s faces are. Do you have any thoughts on this Sara? 🧐
Thanks for the video, this was especially fun because I’m infj and my husband is an enfj

Infjs do seem more expressive than that they seem "stoic looking face", at least in my opinion.
Expression is a specific thing of each individual, ofc so you as a person may be even more expressive than some other types (Enfjs for example). I've seen examples like that in person.
Some Infjs can be insecure about it since they may feel like their energy is not enough due to inferior Se. That may be some cause of your insecurity. I wonder if you agree or have another theory about it :)

Same I’m an infj and my face is so expressive especially when I talk , also when I’m upset or angry my face just show it I can’t help it .

@@SaraMBTI oh my goodness I just felt so understood by you it’s crazy. It’s like you perfectly explained it. Sometimes I even think I have to overcompensate to make sure the person feels validated, listened to, etc. or I feel guilty that I’ve been hiding out from my friends/family to recharge so my inferior Se makes me insecure about my lack of performance and not showing up for them. So maybe I use my voice, emojis, affection, body language to extra show that I still love them so that they know. Thanks for responding 🤎this was thought provoking

Same here. I have a lot of facial expression, nothing close to the calm stereotype described for INFJs

Concentrating on keeping the interlocutor comfortable by keeping themselves low and/or releasing the stress. Though generally if you want to release stress - you laugh at about anything, not really at yourself as shown in this case.

i think in another universe I must be an XNFJ because I laugh all the time, i just loose focus and start remembering funny jokes or coming up with new scenarios in my head. Or _this_ happens where I just laugh about the tiniest things I say because all of the sudden I put it into perspective (does that make sense?)

There are definitely people who would never laugh at themselves under any circumstances. Also, some personalities would frame a conversation that avoids any scenario where it would be expected for them to laugh.

Can you please show differences between ISFJ and INFJ? I feel like many of the descriptions of ISFJs out there belie the depth and breadth of this type. Many have the same capacity for greatness that INFJs have. They are the quintessential heroes and heroines. (Example: Superman is ALWAYS an ISFJ)
