REGINA REAL ESTATE MARKET UPDATE | (December 2019)

How does winter affect the Regina real estate market? Well simply put things start to slow down, but this doesn’t mean you cannot sell your house and there are still some great deals to be had if you are a buyer. This is your real estate monthly market update for Regina Saskatchewan from a local Regina Realtor! The 2019 real estate market in Regina has been all about a slow recovery. Home sales have outpaced 2018 all year long and the number of new listings hitting the Regina real estate market in 2019 has been below 2018 levels. The Home Price Index, which is a metric Realtors use to track price fluctuation instead of the average price, has remained reasonably consistent in Regina through 2019 but it is below 2018 levels.
If you are selling a home in Regina the message has been the same all year long. You need to price your house with the current real estate market realities in mind. Sales are improving this year but they are not nearly as high as in past years during the real estate boom in Regina. For buyers, there are still many houses to buy but those good homes, priced to sell fast, well they are selling fast! If you find a house you want to buy, it fits all your needs and it seems like it was priced to sell fast, buy it! Otherwise, other buyers who see the same things as you will buy that house.
