- Swatching my dream palette. You might need to be a little patient with me by brain feels like mush and this took me 3 days to edit... It shouldn't have taken that long but that's just my current speed 😂

@@RebelUnicornCraftsAbsolutely! I must have Indigo from W&N or Schminke now that WN is hard to get and super expensive in Canada. The Mission Gold is almost green. There are many others like that and that’s why we call them our dream palettes, I guess!

I was super disappointed to discover that DS Moonglow is not actually light fast as advertised according to several TH-cam artists personal tests. For sketchbooks doesn't matter as much, but definitely good to know. I now mix my own (recipe from one of the videos can't recall the Channel, but one of the first when you search DS Moonglow light fast).
Question - do you just not feel the red or is it because red more often makes mud?

There's actually a whole section where I'll talk about my feelings about red in my book, but in short, I think not using red directly helps me make a wider range of vibrant colors.
PS. To answer your question, I don't know which colors would be my dream colors. I'm too much of a newbie!

Can I ask how many pallets do people have? I have my original beginner pallet and as I explore with other artists I get overwhelmed. Anyone in the same boat?
I definitely usually default to my set of base colors I had developed. Nothing wrong with that and it can help teach you more about color mixing/watercolor overall that way versus having a palette with 100 colors. Something like a metallic can't really be replicated with a base set, but we were specifically asked to make our 'dream' palette for this, which is why it seems a little extra. I brought my base set of 12 in addition to this one for my art retreat.
