    I built this bench to your spec as a Mother’s Day gift for my mother. My folks built a large playscape for the grandkids and this compliments it perfectly! The only thing I changed was to use a 1/2” roundover bit along exposed board ends to improve the appearance and eliminate sharp edges.
    Mom loves it! Thanks for the video.

      That was very nice of you to do for your mother. Glad to know she loves it!

    I would have suggested applying the sealer to the wood prior to assembly so as to cover the entire boards.

    Beautiful views Martin. There simply is nothing better than sitting by a stream and watching the water flow. Especially if that beautiful property belongs to you. Add a fire pit and it will be the closest thing this side of Heaven.
    I am looking at making an epoxy resin river table. My Dad was a master wood worker and left me some mighty big shoes to fill.
    Great idea and great job Martin. Love your piece of Heaven that you have there. May you have many years of enjoyment and many happy memories on it.

    Awesome video Martin. Yet again you amaze me with your attention to detail.. Beautiful scenery in the woods near the creek. Those certainly make awesome benches !! Btw, I had to check my shop to make sure you hadn't snuck in and 'borrowed' my DeWalt saw. LOL Naw, you're too honest for that kind of activity !!

    Built some similar benches from all 2x4's and one 2x6. I beveled the top back piece to be flat on top and added the 2x6 as a standing shelf running across the back. Useful when you are standing around and need somewhere to set something like a drink or phone. Nice job. I wish I had done the end shelves.

    Really nice enhancements and excellent "how to" as always. I've been thinking of building Adirondack chairs out of 2X lumber for our pier, but I really like the benches, especially with the special "Martin End Table" option! Food for thought... 👍👍

    We're you happy with the screws that came the kit? Sometimes kits go cheap and they are hard to drive in without stripping. Also, do you think they will hold being outdoors? Love the idea of the forks to hold up the bench to easily stain and seal it. Another reason I feel good about getting forks with our new Kubota L 3560 that is coming in soon . Lol

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jim! Yes, the screws seem to be of good quality and did not strip out while driving them in. You will love having forks for your tractor. They are SO handy. Thanks for watching!

      @@DIYMyWay if I built it as a 6 foot width, do you think I should put on two supports underneath the seat and two on the back? Equidistant from each other and the chair rails.

    @felixperez5932 ปีที่แล้ว

    Martin, the more I view your mods they more I like it. Let me ask; from the mods you make to the bench area, it seems to me that one could build the bench with your mods using the Flip Top Bench Table from 2x4 Basics as an alternative without having to make any other modifications other than your design.

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Felix! I remember seeing the flip top but don’t remember the details of it’s design. Chances are you could adapt some of my mods to the flip top model.
