I can’t wait for the non Neo to be tested. I’m on the fence of a neo or a non neo W800 . The Ferrite is cheaper if I can get a better bang for my buck with the ferrite W800 I’m doing it . I need better mid bass .
I tested a few years back. Here are the links: www.erinsaudiocorner.com/driveunits/kef-ls50-drive-unit/ www.erinsaudiocorner.com/driveunits/kef-r300-drive-unit/ www.erinsaudiocorner.com/driveunits/kef-q100-drive-unit/
@@ErinsAudioCorner Agreed. I have some Eminence ADS1001 compression drivers that have a small spring loaded terminal. I do not like that connector either. I always prefer solder tabs and solder or female spades when building hifi speakers. I worked in a shop that manufactured subwoofer cabinets professionally for Orion, Clarion and Phoenix Gold car audio in the late 1990s and all we did was solder back then. That's the most reliable and electronically stable method.
from what i can see with all the graphs you show i would say 80hz is a little low i would say no lower then 100hz. but i will agree with you tha 400hz would be the highest i would go.
Car door benefits most drivers because the “baffle” is so large. So you can typically go a bit lower than normal. But it’s all about installation at this point. So, I don’t disagree entirely.
You should have been a teacher. The ability you have to explain complicated measurements and your testing methodology that must take you hours to complete, then turn around and cram the information into a 15min video is impressive.
Keep doing the great work!!!
Thanks! Will do! ;)
I’m hoping for a W800 (non neo) review, I don’t know how well it measures, but it sounds fantastic and it is a beast
It's coming soon. Someone is sending me one to review.

Would love to see some coaxial drivers reviewed, like the Eminence 8/19/12” (inexpensive) or B&C drivers. Wish the KEF drivers were purchasable!

Maybe they put those low hanging banana plugs there to ensure minimal space since it's a vented pole piece.
Maybe so. But they could have easily used solder tabs. Who knows.

Will you be testing the w800 non neo ?
Probably not.
Thank you for responding, love this channel 👍

FS is too high to be a woofer , i think ( it doesnt mean that other woofers with lower FS be betters)
