@@gerardocovarrubias1127 who is saying it's the number 1 Martin art? It certainly NOT the "granddaddy" of all fighting or even the grandfather of chinese martial arts. There was Chinese Martial Arts before Shaolin was built because China had wars before then and people needed to defend themselves. As far as being effective in fighting. It is, BUT finding an instructor who k owns how to break it down and teach the fighting aspect well is a challenge. Most dont or cant. Breaking down forms, takes time, patience and lots of research at times. I'd say if you want to learn Shaolin kung fu, FIRST learn Shuai Jiao( chinese wrestling) or judo and then 2and Sanda( chinese kickboxing) or Muy Thai. Why? Because Wrestling is apart of ALL Chinese martial art, but if you dont have any experience in it, you won't know where to find it in the forms. Same with Sanda. Tho it has western influence, it is very much a practical CHINESE MARTIAL ART that will teach you alot of basics so far as sticking, basic throws, takedowns etc. This will help you when you decide to take a traditional art like long fist. It will give you a foundation that most schools today simply do not have

Problem is people in Sri Lanka don't know the spirituality in Chinese and Asian martial arts. Most of they insult it
I’m Chinese and believer of Buddhism (though not too religious), I didn’t know the Shaolin have political history. I thought Buddhist monks avoid politics; they’re more isolationist or pacifist more or less.
Sure they fight and even participate in wars but I always believe their reasons are more philosophical than political, like protecting and saving innocent lives and to stop further violence.
Buddhism spread in the world by India and now China spread terror in the world
Bohidharma was not only good at martial arts, he was good at medicine too.
It's called *Ayurveda* (the study of medicines) in Sanskrit Language.
Shaolin Monks start training at the age of 5 and training graduate 25 " Warrior Monk" First Level of Mastery level. However achieving full mastery in the Shaolin tradition is considered to be a lifetime endeavor.

No, I'm Chinese and I can confirm Kung Fu was developed entirely by Chinese.
Kung Fu has been existed in China before Ta Mo came from India. Tamo only introduced to the monks the Baduanjin and Yi Jing Jin ( muscle tendon change). Shaolin Kung fu is a result of many styles Masters who reside at the Temple for periods of time and taught to the monks their fighting techniques.

There's no proof for this. Historically, the chinese people were being oppressed by bandits. But Bodhidharman saved them. He taught them Kung Fu.
@@amulya_asmi We have historical proof that Kung Fu started before Bodhidarma even came to China. That is because "Kung Fu" is a term for Chinese martial arts, and archeologists have found weapons like swords and spears in China a thousand years before Bodhidarma. If there are weapons, there must be martial arts. There were also diagrams of fighting and wrestling found in China hundreds of years before Bodhidarma.
I'm inclined to believe the story that the actual Shaolin temple never recovered from it's destruction in the 18th century and this current iteration is just to drum up tourism.
It makes sense when you think about the Shaolin kungfu movies of the late 1900s. They were all based in a time way before modern technology.
Because in india people not interested to learn this art and now going to China to learn this fools are fools😂
