Hello friends! Please subscribe if this was helpful and comment below if you have brands that you would recommend to the community OR if you have any other questions about where to get figure skating practice clothing and what to wear! ⛸✨
I've taken to wearing these turtlenecks that are quarter zip(kinda like a polo) as a mid layer. If it's cold and I want my neck covered, I have a turtle neck, if it's too warm (or as I warm up) I can just unzip it to give me breathing room. It's like the best of both worlds. I got them on Amazon like almost all my athletic wear 😂
This is what I typically wear for skate practice: 1.) For tops, I wear Under Armour cold gear mock long sleeves. They are spandex on the outside and fleece on the inside, so super warm. In the summer, that’s usually the only layer I need. In the winter when it’s colder I throw on a non-hooded sweatshirt. I only wear the sweatshirt for the 1st 10 minutes to warm-up skating skills and take it off by the time I get to spins. I’m larger chested in the skating community, so sports bras are a must. 2.) For pants, I love Chloe Noel skate pants. I have 10’s of pairs of the plain black pants that I have cycled through for the past 10-15 years. They last a long time, are very stretchy and warm. I always stretch them half over my skating boots to protect my laces. I personally like the half boot cover look, but I know that look is not for everyone. 3.) For bottoms, I also occasionally like to wear skirts. I got some Zero X Posur brand swim skirts from JCPenney in the fall and winter when they were on clearance. They are designed for swimming, but they work great for skating as they are lightweight, tight and spandex. I really like them. 4.) For tights, I have always been in Mondors and like them. I always wear footed tights under my Chloe Noel pants so I don’t have to wear skate socks. It’s also serves as a double layer for your legs, so they stay warmer. 5.) I always wear gloves to protect my hands. Whatever thin spandex ones I have laying around does the trick. I always make sure they are grippy for extra support for blade grabs. 6.) for gym shoes, I’ve always been a Nike girl. The Nike Free RN model works great for me for off ice jumps. To give context, I compete at the junior-senior level for freeskate, gold level for dance and masters for showcase with 21 years of experience in the sport. Happy skating ❤
Hi:) it’s me again about the competition songs, she picked out 3 songs like her coach has asked her and she chose dancing in the dark from home , gimme gimme gimme , andnever ending story , she’s not 100% sure about the last 2 but she really wants to skate to dancing in the dark, do you have any more recommendations
Hi there! Which dancing in the dark are you referring to and by what artist? That can help provide me with a bit more information as to what your sister is thinking about! So I can maybe suggest better options
@@cathydingg hi, thank you for answering so quick, im referring to dancing in the dark by Rihanna from the movie home, she really likes the beat to it and has always loved the movie home!
TRULY I made this mistake early on and trust me with thin socks you can feel where you are on the blade much better! It improves your spins especially a lot in my opinion.
Hi there! Thank you for checking in- I appreciate it! It's still coming along and there are still some jumps my PT advises against but I'm slowly regaining more strength in my hip flexors again so fingers crossed we are back to 100% soon!

Totally agree on the importance of socks! I once brought only one skating sock to the rink and I definitely learnt a lesson afterwards 😆
Perfect timing to continue my skating clothes takeover of my closet!

I also recommend base layers from 32 Degrees. Not as expensive as Uniqlo but just as warm.
OO thank you for the rec for the community down here! Appreciate it!
This is perfect timing casue I'm teaching my friends some skating on Monday so it's great to send to them :p
Do you wear and have a brand of padded shorts that you like for jump practice?

I've been skating for so long and I didn't realise I had to wear thin scoks💀
