Check out another band of his…Audioslave with the members of Rage Against the Machine AND look into Temple of the Dog. He collaborated with Eddie Vedder & Pearl Jam band mates, which was a tribute album to their late friend Andrew Wood of the band Mother Love Bone.
Chris was also the singer in Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. He had several solo albums too. He has an absolute masterpiece of a cover of Nothing Compares 2 U done live at the Sirius XM studio. The song was written by Prince.
I still assume they got murdered just like Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. All hung from low points like doorknobs, which is a sign. Junkies kill themselves with junk. They don’t use exercise bands and get found in a pool of blood like Chris did. Foul play for sure.
Tortured souls. A person can have everything one might desire except happiness. Severe depression steers one down an entirely different direction which can take a monumental effort to climb out of. It is beyond tragic that these talented individuals suffered so much yet their depression created art that offered comfort to others who also felt lost. RIP Chester and Chris. Thank you AR for posting and reacting to this.
Read Chester's lyrics. Every song was like a suicide note. Chris's solo lyrics basically the same thing. They both were open about depression and addiction. Suffering long time from both. In and out of rehab. Sometimes the ones you are closest to can either influence you or bring you down without wanting to or trying. I guess it's like a snowball effect. Especially with Chester losing a good friend and then choosing to take his life on Chris's bday. I can't even imagine the pain he went thru those last couple of months. Anyway... I'm grateful for being a fan of both and hope they found the peace they were seeking. They left us beautiful music and probably never realized how many lives they touched
Soundgarden were an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984, another couple of songs is 'Black Hole Sun' and 'Rusty Cage'. Johnny Cash did a cover of 'Rusty Cage' and it's really good. This song, in my opinion, is amazing, Chris Cornell had a great voice. He was also in other bands including Audioslave and Temple of the Dog, and he very sadly passed away in May 2017. As you said, Anthony, he was very good friends with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and tragically he passed away in July 2017. So, we lost two incredible musicians in the same year, Chester actually passing away on Chris Cornell's birthday, it's just so desperately sad.
Both Bennington and Cornell wrestled with depression for years on end. Depression isn't just a funk or a bad mood, or a bit of sadness... it's like a piece of you gets cut away. Something's missing. You can't feel joy, anymore. You can't feel hope. Rationally, you know something's wrong, you know your head isn't in the right place, but all the emotions that normally let us weather hard circumstances are gone. All that remains your your demons, and without joy or hope, there's a big void for them to fill. For some it gets so bad that it triggers psychosomatic reactions, and becomes physically painful. You can't see an end to it, you can't believe it'll pass -- even if you rationally know it will. It was their demons that drove them to make brilliant music. This song, as well as several others, were Cornell documenting his struggle with depression. Those "Black Days" are what got him, in the end. What does it matter if you're successful, if you can't feel joy anymore, and have no hope that it will ever get better?
I grew up on grunge, it's captivating, I've evolved since but everytime I hear a song like this it takes me back to my early teens. It will ALWAYS have a place in my heart. Nice reaction RIP Chris
You should check out Temple of the Dog - Say Hello 2 Heaven which was Chris' side project as a tribute to Andy Wood, the lead singer of Mother Love Bone, and who died just before the release of their first album. It is fantastic! Also Hunger Strike where Chris sings with Eddie Vedder.
He died on my wife’s birthday 7/19. Sucks, both heavy involvement in sexual abuse!!! Chester was SA’d as a child. Fucking sick. 80’s music tons of drugs, alcohol and women. 90’s has 90% of lead singers have committed suicide. I don’t understand how this can happen. AR love your content. Very thoughtful and intelligent comments to help your audience think for themselves which a lot of people in this world don’t do!! Just remember all those guitar solos in the 80’s I’m an early 80’s teenager who is now 55. I really enjoy your younger perspective on music and life!! Need you here in the states to run things with your great friend BP. 💯
The grunge singers of the 90's sang with their emotions on their sleeves. Its what made that era of music so amazing. Sadly these emotions were often fueled by heavy demons. Chris Cornell's dealth was certainly a surprise. On the surface he seemed to have overcome all that that plagued his contemporaries. Sad that it most likely contributed to Chesters desth as well.
Almost everyone from Grunge era has passed on committed Suicide 😞😡. Also Chris Cornell had a side project called Audioslave!! You’ll enjoy this too. Chester being the best voice Cornell would be two. Yo 80’s ruled these era’s
Had that CD also at that time. As that music was changing,I was too. By 1993 I’m 23yrs old, bar seen changing a little, grunge hitting the jukebox. Pearl Jam was being played more than Nirvana but by 95/96 our 80’s was cooked with some country music on top. Thank God late to the game was GNR/ SkidRow. Our tight jeans with long hair, some of it down to the middle of our backs!! Just saying it was so much more fun, tailgating, drinking with everyone, dudes trying to look cool, ladies looking hot blasting music from our boomboxes. $12 or $13 tickets, Metallica making your ears ri g for days. At a concert you had 15,000 friends!!! Almost everyone of my bands from 81 on are still alive, might not be able to sing like a 22yr old. But our cheesy MTV videos had hot chicks, love, sex , tons of drinking along with tons of drugs!! But still here. WTF went wrong? I enjoyed some of those bands. Alot of those songs are deep dark and depressing. Myself as a teenager starting in 1982, we felt shit, most of us came from military Dads who just came back from Vietnam!!! Never talked back, super respect for your mother, neighbor, anyone of authority. Or you got an ASS Whooping!!! If you lied then you would get it worse. But that era was a ton of fun. Not worried are they going to OD or OD accidentally. Rock On
Ding ding ding, You are correct. As you were mentioning the theories you were hitting all those checkmarks. The 3rd person involved was Anthony Bordaine. I mean come on now, Cornell died by a bathroom doorknob? Smh
Look up The Silent Children. Them and one other guy were working in the documentary and all passed away " by suicide". The body of Chris was not consistent with a hanging as I believe he had broken ribs among other things.
How much easier is it to delete openly depressed / suicidal people who are going to expose evil? How much easier is it to delete yourself after learning just how evil this world really is? RIP to all who've gazed too long into the abyss & the abyss gazed back.
Both Chester and Chris had severe forms of depression and they decided they couldn’t handle life anymore. Robin Williams had a similar form of depression and he also committed suicide. It’s really sad.
The curse of singers dying in grunge bands is definitely drugs. Even after they stop doing the drugs, build families, and move forward, they relapse and OD, or they relapse and unalive themselves. It's truly sad.
It doesn't make sense to you that he took his life? How can anybody, other than the individual who took their life, understand why they did it...kind of a ridiculous, and obvious statement.
I never delete comments to just let you know. It could be a word you used perhaps, maybe the s word meaning "self deletion"? TH-cam is sensitive about that.

Chris passed May 18th,2017. Chester passed July 20th, 2017, on Chris bday. both cause of death suicide, not drugs
true but drugs definitely played a part in blurring their judgement along with trauma

I know these things happen but his chat is often very misinformed 😑 Suppose it doesnt really matter though. Its more about the music in the moment.

That first Hook of the drums always gets me ready to Rock 😈

What a tragic prophecy this turned out to be!
There's a video floating around of Chris and Chester doing a song together called Hunger Strike from one of Chris's other bands.

Chester died on Chris Cornell's birthday, just 2 months after Chris died.
Chris died may 2017 and Chester died july of the same year.
Please check out Audioslave. The band members are from Rage Against the Machine and Chris was their lead singer.
I love grunge, but TooL has got to be my favorite genre 🤷♂️🤣👌
React to Temple of the Dog. Say Hello to Heaven, live at the Moore Theater next.

❤❤❤
Both Chester and Chris had severe forms of depression and they decided they couldn’t handle life anymore. Robin Williams had a similar form of depression and he also committed suicide. It’s really sad.
Lewy body dementia is what really got to Robin Williams who was misdiagnosed whilst alive but revealed post death in autopsy.
chris died due to a change in his deppression medication that made him sucidal, a very short time later chester also took his own life
The curse of singers dying in grunge bands is definitely drugs. Even after they stop doing the drugs, build families, and move forward, they relapse and OD, or they relapse and unalive themselves. It's truly sad.
Some OD but drugs seems to be the self treatment of the root cause, which is depression. Neither chester or cornell OD'd
Chris did not kill himself. Neither did Chester. Wait and see.
They are both the stereotypical tortured artists
It doesn't make sense to you that he took his life? How can anybody, other than the individual who took their life, understand why they did it...kind of a ridiculous, and obvious statement.
Not what I meant
This is not the version that is on my greatest hits album, This is not as good.
Don't know why my comment was deleted, but yea, they did NOT off themselves.
I never delete comments to just let you know. It could be a word you used perhaps, maybe the s word meaning "self deletion"? TH-cam is sensitive about that.
Also, I think it's fishy how him and Chester just "offed" themselves. Very strange.
@@ARCLASSICS No, I figured it was YT ban. It wasn't much different from what I said, main point, but I changed it up a little, lol.
Anthony Bourdain, Robin Williams, Chester, Chris when does it evre make sense?
Avicii died after making a video about child trafficking....
