These guys should’ve been huge!! That voice; the Riffs! The guitars! This song is, was and always will be EPIC!!! And in my head I’m going Southbound!!!
You'd be hard-pressed to find many hardcore or metal bands that are capable of going grunge/alt-metal as smoothly as VOD did. This is not their usual style, but by god does this track slap.
LOA did that so seamlessly via Ugly. Ugly was the catalyst that helped people stick to LOA's side when Soul Searching Sun came out and they turned into an alt rock band. VOD went from Imprint to this album and lost a lot of fans. They didnt have any of the hectic hardcore on this album at all. It is arguably a great album but the peeps into VOD then were mostly straight up hardcore dudes so it was a major departure@@adamturner1563
These guys were amazing during the 90s early 00s in the underground hardcore scene. True artists...they tried different things and changed their sound more than once, yet they persevered...
VISION OF DISORDER FROM BLISS TO DEVA STATION This is one hell of a wicked album extremely underrated band.Every song on this album is cool that is rare nowadays i love the southern swampland blues style metal sound! Heard a rumor that these guys are getting back together hope they do and make another album like this one.Anyone out there that got to see them live performing songs off this album very lucky something to brag about!!!
This band is the epitome of what Aggro Metal (wrongly called Nu Metal) meant in all its splendor. The diversity of musical elements that they fused, including Hardcore, Funk, Alternative Rock, Metal, etc., made them a band worthy of being as famous as KoЯn, Deftones or SOAD.
I hold this band deep in my spine. Their songs gave me one when I didn't have a reason to stand for my self. We are what we make of this world, this band helped me realize that. Find yourself, create yourself. be yourself, become yourself / greater.... and rise.
Bro they won't listen they all think it's so cool there own little secret until they are strung out dope sick in hell then they will think like us but not until then you know this they need to legalize pure smack coc al l that instead of all this other shit Subutex ,methadone is worse on your body and been studies that prove 89 percent success rate weening people off of pure heroin then any other mat drug
Seeing Madball, V.O.D., and Undermind at the Capitol Ballroom in D.C. back in '96 was one of the best hardcore shows I've been too. That says a lot because between 94 and 99 I went to hundreds of shows Hatebreed, 25 ta Life, Burial Ground, Mushmouth, Agnostic Front, Biohazard, Fugazi, Murphy's Law, Slippery Pot Pie, Sickofitall, Orange 9mm, downset., Dead Guy, Earth Crisis, etc. So many great times at them shows.
Imagine this being another album by Alice In Chains produced in the late 90s cause everything such as the chorus hooks, breakdowns, and heaviness takes on the sound I picture Alice In Chains to come up with if they had Layne Staley made another album before he passed away its unbelievably sick! Also I swear Vision Of Disorder could resemble almost any band on earth out there that’s what makes em so talented plus these guys come from my hometown long island which makes em even cooler It sucks I missed out on music like this years ago it’s so catchy and it defines what legit rock music is anyways vision of disorder needs to make more music I find it sad they haven’t made an album since 2015 people needed to see the progress in 90s/2000s rock/metal have made unlike the mainstream artists nowadays
Great comment man! I always loved metal/rock, but I heard my first VOD album when I was 11-12. The album with Zone Zero, way before this one. It blew me away! Then I got into harder stuff because of it. Then I heard Imprint. I also had this album. I'll always love VOD!
Pisses me off that these guys never got the recognition they deserve. But il admit, when they show up, they DO got a fanbase.... But yea i come around every now n then to hear some vod lol
While most hated this album I loved it. felt dirty and like home. Hc slowslowed down and had more feelings. Not the same but felt heavier since I could relate to the lyrics and the brutal break down
Any of the people shouting 'bring Bloodsimple back'. Did you happen to look at the Copyright on this video? This is 4 years before Bloodsimple EXISTED. The fact that VoD is still a band has nothing to do with Bloodsimple being on, off or otherwise.
well im here from the bloodsimple stuff. red harvest didnt quite have as many awesome songs as cruel world which had like 85% headbangers. but his voice is awesome and this altho 2001 has a great sound quality to it. time to follow whatever Tim Williams does!
i dont understand why people bash this album so its not imprint or element but its still badass i like there old shit better too but things evolve look at nothingface....plus no matter how "hardcore" anybody is its about the money and they werent making bank off of DTO and choke V.O.D. is badass no matter what they do
@tomjoad32 Yes they are back together and plan to release a album early 2011. They say they are going back to the style used on imprint... we shall see.
ok some people may not like this side of vod but you have to admit theyre good at it. they need to do kind of like what they did with bs. a mix of things like this and earlier vod. then i think itd be amazing. but i think they are anyway
From bliss to devastation is a very..very great album ;) it sounds so dark and so unique...i love music and i listen lots of bands a long time now...and trust me, i never hear something like this record...! Just open your mind and your ears...and who say that is shit and the old Vod was better...its cuz you are just following the sheeps...
Yep, I can clearly hear the influence of Alice In Chains on this one. Tim seems to be trying to sound like Layne. By the way, not a bad job at all. Especially if you remember the fact that around that time Layne was not able to make himself do anything. I wish he would have reacted on the efforts of others to be like him musically by kicking his goddamn addiction out and making another triumphal record with AiC (or maybe being a part of some other project).
These guys should’ve been huge!! That voice; the Riffs! The guitars! This song is, was and always will be EPIC!!! And in my head I’m going Southbound!!!
I don't know how huge they were back in the day, but I found them recently and I understand they're the "fathers" of metalcore?
@@twisted_cpp they had a hardcore punk and metal sound in the early 90's which were big ingredients in the metalcore scene
Damn straight!!!
Imprint is even better than this album.
Blood Simple is the band the vox and bass player started
Very underrated band. Love this shit.
Ultra underrated
Nice pair. X
You'd be hard-pressed to find many hardcore or metal bands that are capable of going grunge/alt-metal as smoothly as VOD did. This is not their usual style, but by god does this track slap.
A little trick they learned from Life of Agony. I'm sure they were one of the first
LOA did that so seamlessly via Ugly. Ugly was the catalyst that helped people stick to LOA's side when Soul Searching Sun came out and they turned into an alt rock band. We've all been a little SOUTH OUND. Been jamming these boys since 96😊
These guys were amazing during the 90s early 00s in the underground hardcore scene. True artists...they tried different things and changed their sound more than once, yet they persevered...
From Bliss to Devastation is one of my favorite all time albums. What a kick ass band!

Feel the needles bite. Walk on the other side. You are stuck with addiction. Word to the wise not even once
Yeah still have not shook it and started back in 93. I shouldn't b here... glad I got good fuckin rock n roll while on on my miserable wonderful ride

Sepultura, Earth Crisis, and VOD in San Antonio back in 1998.
One of the best albums EVER! They create something very rare in heavy music... a "mood".
This... is music...
I've followed rock music for the last 35-40 years. Why am I just learning about this band now?
I love this late 90s/early 2000s style of music video.
I agree ! And what a hell of a time to been a teen through your early 20's. Some Awesome concerts and music festivals back then.
Awesome styles my friend. I igree 🤘🏻

Hell yeah I get that AIC vibe from many of their songs on this album, heck even some newer stuff like Electric Sky gives it off.
Great comment man! I always loved metal/rock, but I heard my first VOD album when I was 11-12. The album with Zone Zero, way before this one. It blew me away! Then I got into harder stuff because of it. Then I heard Imprint. I also had this album. I'll always love VOD!
bring back the mid 90s! The VOD we remember with the most memories. And pitchshifter / Pulkas / Stuck Mojo>....!
Stuck Mojo!!!! Hell yeah!!!!
Pulkas? Now that's a name I've not heard in a long long time.
Recently came across this. Used to listen to VOD years ago. Forgot about how effing awesome they are. Enjoyed!
This band defines metal/hardcore/ groove metal, actually everything. VOD is what heavy music is and should be. Mic drop.
Listening to this when waking up is so pleasing.
Just found out about this band. 20 years later they still rip.
Those spacey leads are just magical, and a great contrast to the chugging guitars.
the second he throws that fucking mic stand, my face started to melt off... one of the best choruses i've ever heard, period.
VOD we grew up with was awesome. Bring back 1995!
Bring back 1995 & 2001
Forgot about these dudes for like 15 years lol. Great track
Was 12 when my now 40yr old bro introduced me to this AMAZING album
JAEL!!! One of my all time fave ANTM contestants!
these guys are amazing they have such a unique sound that few metal bands have these days
They were ahead of their time. These guys were already LGBTQXYZ-friendly before it was Mainstream
I still love the old Tim Williams
Honestly, if this wasn't a VOD song, people might be talking about it as a classic.
Love this song and love this band.
"Primer 66", Primer 55 reference? K
This and blood simple made me shake my head. There's a couple good songs from these albums..this was 1 of them.
Hell ye 90’s New York hard core scene 🤘
Yesssssssssssssssssss VOD. SO GOOD
Amazing band. One of the best
Ah the dopesick daze...love me my pain, love me my VOD 🤘

Still is defnitly the best hardcore album EVER!
this album is more commercial than the rest, and it may be one of thier best
Keep VOD ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with that statement whole heartedly .
Pisses me off that these guys never got the recognition they deserve. But il admit, when they show up, they DO got a fanbase.... But yea i come around every now n then to hear some vod lol

Heroin is hell of a drug
Old school VOD is the best, but this album still kicks alot of ass.
Highly underrated band
this is the kind of sound im looking for, i just so heavy and badass.but also so different.
Amazing song!
man i remember in like 95 seeing these dudes and like life of agony every weekend!
fuck i miss those days!

So many good shows at the Rat
lots of dope was consumed in the making of this album.
He spoke what he lived I guess
amazing blew me away
it may not be the vod we all grew up with but its still bad ass
thank you!
great song!
pretty nice
Love this song!
Good song
While most hated this album I loved it. felt dirty and like home. Hc slowslowed down and had more feelings. Not the same but felt heavier since I could relate to the lyrics and the brutal break down
My favorite band, my only gripe is they have no music video for "Colorblind". I LOVE that song.
so underrated !
awesome!

great song and a great album. I like hardcore but this fuckin owns their early records. I love the southern/AiC vibe of this record.
hey, nice quality! thanx, love this video! :)
should have blowen up
Very Eighteen Visions 🤘
Have similar experiences myself. Nobody knows who the fuck these guys or Bloodsimple were, yet most people that I showed it to, liked it.
my brother showed me imprint back when it came out and I was like 13. Thats shit was wild. There other albums never even compared tho.
Barbonico
i dont understand why people bash this album so its not imprint or element but its still badass i like there old shit better too but things evolve look at nothingface....plus no matter how "hardcore" anybody is its about the money and they werent making bank off of DTO and choke V.O.D. is badass no matter what they do
Through time Bands progress & just decide to try different sounds Wow songs alot different from they're early stuff but yet good.
All VoD fans Spread the word of the new album comin out early 2012
@tomjoad32 Yes they are back together and plan to release a album early 2011. They say they are going back to the style used on imprint... we shall see.

ok some people may not like this side of vod but you have to admit theyre good at it. they need to do kind of like what they did with bs. a mix of things like this and earlier vod. then i think itd be amazing. but i think they are anyway
@aylielove if you mean by amber saying this was her fav band then yes lol.but i have heard this before
blood simple!
ahhh, 90s tribal tatts lol, banger of a song though!
DRUMMER IS BAD ASS
Are you replying to me? Songwriting credit for the music on 'Army of the Sun' goes to Flynn and McClain, with lyrics by Williams.
what happened to the old VOD? Bring back the mid - late 90s! Will Haven Days!
Fucking so badass this song is a banger
queria fazer parte dessa banda!
Já senti isso
Best part of the video. Pause at 21 seconds. Your welcome.
+Miguel Guitar I think people like the old VOD bc everything From Bliss To Devastation and on is just kind of generic. Not bad but nothing special.
This music video has to have been taken in KS
Yep, I can clearly hear the influence of Alice In Chains on this one. Tim seems to be trying to sound like Layne. By the way, not a bad job at all. I personally thought it sounded more like Marilyn Manson mixed with Pantera.
