This is super rad to see! We have the utmost respect for guys like you and Mike over at Warfab really pushing the options available for the Tacoma platform! Hats off sir! (We'll have to get you up to Boise to see some of the rocks we have)
Pretty good. Links , no axle wrap. But you would think for the time and money maybe a spring under Deaver 62 inch leaf 🍁 would probably yield exactly the same travel and you could probably use the same type of shock tower with 14 inch shock. 🤷♂️. No need for sway bar too or fuel cell . Bunch of “kits” for this , JD fab Ect.
Yeah you can definitely get similar travel with leafs! It's all a matter of personal preference and what your budget allows. We make a 3 link trailing arm setup that doesn't require relocating the fuel tank and I would take that over leaf springs any day. Travel isn't everything in my opinion, I'm after a setup that can haul all my camping stuff in summer without being sacked out, sway control with no unloading etc.
Probably just the camera angle, but looked like clearance was getting tight for when the coil will be on the shock when articulated. What's the weight of the trailing arm? Nice job on the videos too.
Thanks! Yeah the frame clearance was tight at the shock when articulated. In the last couple clips you can see where we clearanced the frame for when the shocks swung side to side. The arms are heavy, I think 50-60lb. We’ve got some revisions coming for them to lighten them up a bit too.
Your dogs are awesome 💯👊🤠
Thanks!
Martec Eng. again blessing us with another beautiful beautiful video and im very impressed with the doggo🤙🏾🇵🇼
Thanks so much!
One day I will be as smart, cool and hopefully as good looking as you Nick. Thank you for the amazing videos. I look up to you more than you know!
Thanks Marshall!
Man if I didn’t live on the other side of the country and wasn’t broke I would definitely have you build my rig. The doggos help lol
For sure!
Can't wait for my vacation so I can drive mine out to you 👍👍
Hell yeah!!
At this point I’m just here for the dogs. The building flipping rad Nick, great job on the trailing arms. Martech the world!

Thanks so much! Let me know, I'd love to come up there!
This looks like a nice setup, any plans to work on a 1st gen Taco?
Thanks! Yes we’ll be getting on the 1g platform at some time this year.

@@martecengineering Does the sway bar need to be disconnected the way a Jeep does?
Thanks, inspirational! Have you ever done a rear steer?
Thanks! Yes I have
Do you have to modify the width on the axles ? And what front and rear axles do you use ?

IS THAT A GERMANGADANG SHEPEPERDARG?!
It’s one them German Americans
But what did you gain over a quality leaf sprung setup?
No axle wrap, adjustable ride height, easier tuning with the ability to change spring rates, no shackle hanging off the back to get hung up on.
Damn son one day I’ll be white and be able to weld 💰
I bet you can weld even better as a brown man.
