    How is that locking hitch pin holding up

      Great. Hiding strong, never tampered with and no crackhead has been able to steal it.

    Hitch receiver shackle mounts are great recovery items! I have one and it was one of the best recovery items I have bought!

      I gotta learn how to use it along with my snatch strap!

    Lol .. I’m sure someone get smart enough and use screwdriver to loosen that and there goes your Shackle!! That’s why I don’t advertise mine and only put it on when needed.

      So far so good. It acts as another layer of difficulty for them to remove. I can understand you doing that, for me, when I park in the city, it's a great deterrent for people parking too close to my rear bumper.

      If that’s all you want is to deter people from parking to close, a ball hitch will be even better, hence the ball hitch is hard to take off than the shackle plus the ball hitch extends further out. I have both ball and shackle hitch on my truck and I don’t leave my on for the reason that people will steal it though I would rather leave my ball hitch than my shackle.

      Also no matter how hard you tighten the shackle, sooner or later it will loose up because your SUV is constantly moving and hitting bumps and the shackle will loosen up and you will loose it while driving and there goes your shackle or it can come loose and hit someone behind you.

      Make sure you tighten it with a pen or screw driver. Mine is still intact :)

    Just received the same setup. Alot of play in the locking mechanism but better than nothing. Do you you have alot of play in the locking mechanism?

    • @RichieValentine
      @RichieValentine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be a little play but not a ton

      @@RichieValentine thanks for the response. I guess it's normal. Like the look of the hitch on my 4runner. Adds a little protection incase someone gets a little too close at red lights

      @@AG4runner ive had people in small cars park centimeters from my truck WITH the tow hitch. It's more of a defensive mechanism rather than a tow or recovery tool at the moment :)

    I use grade 8 bolts instead of the expensive "lock". These locks are easy to break off but they do deter a lot of people.
