Please re release Brandenburg Concerto #2! The audio mix was not good! The balance between the soloist instruments is lost and the beautiful harmonic tapestry is faded! Please please please!
@@MarcoModesto-up2wj The description mentions that since the original concerto has never been found, they used the Marcello with the ornaments and harmonic tweaks made by Bach. Bach transcribed Marcellos concerto. Most modern performances and scores use Bach’s ornamentations.
The oboist is a very talented Cuban. He's parents are the most influential musicians in the nation. They have created their company named "Ars Longa".
Hello from Prague! Listening to this, I remembered a stanza by the only Czech Nobel Prize winner for literature, Jaroslav Seifert. It's from one of his late poems, when he had stopped worrying about rhythm and rhyme; the poem starts off darkly enough, but then he says: "But I caught the sound of a harpsichord. It was a concerto for oboe, harpsichord and strings by Johann Sebastian Bach. From where it came from I do not know. But clearly not from earth." Well, that`s it.
How many concertos would had written Bach in Köthen alone? Most of Bach's concertos only survived because he compiled them as "Brandenburg concertos" or because he transcribed them for harpsichord later in life or because he reused them in his cantatas... We will never know how many he really wrote or why they got lost! (I suspect his sons may have been negligent)

BWV 35 is one of the most groovie cantatas hard to stay on your chair with these two sinfonias. so for us hardcore Bach fans, its nothing new.... but a wonderful performance !!
I have just listened to this piece played on a modern oboe, the strident sound is not at all pleasant. Thanks for your performance, and the sweet sound of the baroque oboe

This concerto is a reconstruction. The first and third movement stem from BWV 35, for the middle movement we have opted for the famous Adagio from the oboe concerto by Alessandro Marcello, which is an audience favourite nowadays, but was also greatly admired by Bach, who made a transcription for solo harpsichord (BWV 974). The ornamentation that he wrote out meticulously is deliberately used here by the oboist.
Please note: this is an improved version of an earlier release. The audio mix has been improved.

Yes indeed, we will never know how much music by Bach has been lost to us.
Excellent!
What wonderful music! 🤍
Começar o dia ouvindo Bach é muito bom!

What is the original piece of the 2nd movement?
Beautiful, but maybe a Bach adagio could have been used as a 2nd movement. Excellent playing.

Counter tenors bloom under this conductor. Somehow he knows how to get the best out of this rather unnatural approach to singing.
Microsoft playg Bach.
Harpsichord sounds awful. Looks like it needs a string replacement.
