Really digging the videos guys. Good to see some locals who love fishing too. Where are you launching from when going to the Gulf Islands?

Great job, very interesting video...just wondering how big of your boat can cross the straight of Georgia ? And how long does it take to get to galiano island from steveson?

Thank you! It really depends on your confidence level and the conditions. On a flat and calm day, a 16 footer could cross with ease. We’ve been crossing relatively comfortably with a 20 footer (except for a few really windy and rough days), but make sure you pay close attention to the tide and wind! Wind speeds over 15km/h get pretty rough out there, especially if it counters the tide. Cruising at 26/27 knots, we typically get across in 25-30mins.

@@BCFishingMajors thanks for your info....galiano is my favorite fishing place since I was a kid...having a 13ft dinghy now with 15hp, looking to upgrade to a better boat, but still struggling which style should I get, bowrider is my favorite, but center console seems more fishing wise.

Agreed! Center consoles and cuddy cabins are sweet for fishing and more capable in rougher conditions. But bowriders are the sweet spot for us at the moment in terms of price and versatility (strait crossing and family lake days)

Nice video. I am having a hard time finding a good fishing spot on the island, do you mind sharing the fishing location and the depth? Thx Bro.

Around Cooks Cove is a nice place to start! Beware of the RCA though; Depth really depends, we try anywhere from 35-120ft. If you got the range, we’ve heard of a lot more success on the inside. Good luck!
