My first Downhill Southeast Win! Round 4 at Windrock (Cat 2/3)

This weekend was wild, but such a blast. The track was tough but insanely fun. I had a but of a crash on Fri and a near miss with a tree on Sat, then busted a wheel on Sun morning practice. Fortunately, the bike shop at Windrock was able to get my wheel fixed. Aaron Gwin was even messing with my bike while the mechanic was working on it, which made me feel like an excited little boy.
I got 1 practice run in after my bike got fixed and gave'r the beans on my race run. It felt like a good run, but I honestly didn't think it was a winning run. I came down and heard I was in the hot seat but was sure the next few riders would beat my time. But it held up and I got my first ever win (Cat 2/3 30+)
It was awesome to also have support from Kate and her family, as well as the support from the friends we've made at these races, which were quick to jump in and help fix my bike when things were going wrong.
This is definitely the coolest sport on the planet
